Listened to grandpas stories back then. Honestly, my grandpa would have disagreed with you. Even they did puke their souls out, so, how would our generations of weaklings be able to deal with it?
This is most relaxing, thank you for this sound. Brings me back to my younger days chilling out with my old man. May he rest in the deep blue with peace.
funny we all know that a single sonar ping is enough to give your present position perhaps to an enemy an ocean or two away. IT IS SO DAMN PEACE FULL.....PERHAPS FOR ETERNITY.......SET SPEED AT 2KNOTS AND DOWN TO 600 FEET
I've got a playlist of about 20 or so 8 to 10 hour 'sleepy' tracks but nothing like this - a beautifully simple concept, well executed - and the sonar ping is the finishing touch... I will be giving the submarine a test run tonight! Thanks
Hey. I so appreciate this one. I am dealing with a switch in ssri's and am not doing so great. I am usually having panic attacks 4-5 times a day and sleep is damn near impossible. this sound helps me calm down so much that I can pretty well forget about my what seems like eternal hell. thanl you so much for this.
Hi!, sorry to hear about your problems but I am really happy that you found something that helps! Makes all this worth it when I read comments like this :) Hope you feel better soon!
I was a sonar operator in the RN and this sound takes me back. We'd do up to 4 hours listening to the 'ping' and hoping to find an echo. Once we'd found an echo we would attack. The echo pitch would tell the sonar operator if the contact was heading towards, or away. The contact would be brought into range and attacked with the ships weapons which varied but, limbo and squid were both effective.
Hmm, this doesnt sound anything like my experience as a sonarman. We never went active unless we were about to shoot a target or we were surfacing the ship. We certainly wouldn't go active for 4 hours. What better way to tell the enemy "HEY!!!! WE'RE OVER HERE!!!!"
It's not the unknown, silly... ...it is almost certainly enough pitch black, freezing salt water to crush you to death before you even have time to drown.
turn your speakers down low.... let ping start playing. VERY slowly .... Turn your speakers up till you can barely hear it. It's driving all my coworkers crazy !!!
Memories of all the old WWII movies I watched in my youth. This sound created tension and nervousness as I watched the movie. suspense at it's finest. :)
US Navy Sonar Tech here. No sub would ever go active this long. Suicide pinging... Here I am, kill me! The next sound should be the high frequency sound of a torpedo run fired from a destroyer.
@Derek Subbreth It's just Hollywood tropes personified. Most people now associates the 1kHz ping with submarines because movies. It's like how every plane sounds like a WW2 Stukka dive bomber when it's going down.
I have a joke for you. This is the transcript of a radio conversation of a US naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October, 1995. Radio conversation released by the Chief of Naval Operations 10-10-95. Americans: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision. Canadians: Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision. Americans: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course. Canadians: No. I say again, you divert YOUR course. Americans: This is the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln, the second largest ship in the United States' Atlantic fleet. We are accompanied by three destroyers, three cruisers and numerous support vessels. I demand that YOU change your course 15 degrees north, that's one five degrees north, or countermeasures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship. Canadians: This is a lighthouse. Your call.
Thank you very much, will be using this for our sub marine themed escape room next week along with red plastic over all the lights. Everyone knows subs only have red lighting right?
everything is perfect except that PING! WTF?! no submariner wants to hear that! without that ping, this would put me to sleep in seconds. that ping means someone's trying to find us, and probably has. sonar pings through the hull are not conducive to rest. FFS, if we were to have heard this, we'd be expecting to hear "snap shot tube 4" followed by BST almost immediately.
Every submarine ambient video has the comment "The sonar ping means you are being hunted. This shouldn't be relaxing." on it. I get that but - I just like the sonar ping and regardless, it's relaxing to me.
This is one of the best channels ever thank you sooooo much I've been looking for things like this and this is the best channel forest and could you maybe do a sounds of the rainforest I used to listen to that when I was a kid thanks again.
This is the most important thing since I've been on a submarine like the USS Croaker at the Buffalo Naval Park, and I hope that I can dreaming of seeing a beautiful young little Mermaid underwater swimming on Lake Erie, she's lovely and pretty.
We will pass through the American patrols, past their sonar nets. We will lay off their largest city and listen to their rock and roll while we conduct missile drills. Then we will sail to Havanna where the sun is warm and so is the comradeship.
It's relaxing for me cause I imagine I'm in the deep dark depths of the ocean and sleeping in my bunk. And with the sonar signaling I'm being hunted, it makes it more scary but makes me more sleepy.

Hearing another submarine's active sonar pinging definitely isn't something you'd want to hear while onboard your submarine

Ofc
May be it's a fellow deep sea scientific exploration submarine, not a military one.

Especially if the ping gets louder as time goes by.
Maybe it's the portal to peace
Its so relaxing being hunted and possibly dying any minute
Listened to grandpas stories back then. Honestly, my grandpa would have disagreed with you. Even they did puke their souls out, so, how would our generations of weaklings be able to deal with it?
Shame. We are the hunters. They are the prey. We are on a sub. That's how we play.
Where’s the last special brick for your ship

Not sure I’d want to be sleeping if the sub was using active sonar....
Never bothered me a bit.
@@InquisitorMatthewAshcraft because you are dead and will spend the rest of eternity in your iron coffin on the buttom of the sea
Yes, you would because when you sleep you use less oxygen therefore you can stay under the water longer without surfacing.
So you want to watch the torpedo coming on your passive sonar. Gotcha. Imma take a nap, lemme know if the bunks start flooding

Have you looked at n-acetylcysteine?
Hi there - hope everything went OK for you in the end? If you happen to see this, I'd love to hear about your happy ending!🙏☺
Have you looked at getting off meds and finding natural medicine that will heal you instead of crippling you in the first place.
Say the Jesus prayer and go for a 40minute walk 3 times a week and you'll be cured.
nothing like being in a sub that's being hunted for 8. whoa relaxing lol
One ping only.

I listened to this while reading my Book "SSN" by Tom Clancy. Really good book.
Good to see you here. Fancy killing whales again?

Nice! I read "Act of defiance" (Tom clancy)
I allways listen to this video when I can't sleep. Works everytime :)

Plot firing solution. Send a Passive torpedo on a intercept course with the searching vessel.

And it's very fitting for hide and seek in a game. Console and real life. Only thing is make the sonar ping faster when someone's close.
It perfectly fits to battleship game that I'm creating :)

Ah yes, the sounds from the inside of a metal cage with only thin walls protecting you from the unknown, how relaxing.
not even that but active pings like this means you’re looking for someone. i think its pretty uncommon for a submarine to actively ping

I'm being hunted , that's relaxing 😌
It is not being hunted. When hunted subs run silent and deep.
it fells like lost in middle of dark deep ocean and some spirit is approching closser and closer ...
cool thing is that these are ACTUAL recordings of submarines. Either by camera mounts in / on the sub or by being detected.
This isnt relaxing for anybody, this is the sound of you being hunted by an destroyer which is about to sink you...
I mean once a ship pings the submarine can locate exactly where it is let alone it pinging for 8 hours straight 😂😂
