These are great. When I first started as a filmmaker I for some reason was thinking that if I don't personally color each project myself that I was not a real filmmaker. Now I know that that was the dumbest thing I could ever conjure up in my tiny brain. Building off what others have perfected is the best way to go, because let's face it, if you're watching this you will most likely never become an expert at colorgrading.
Just bought them via your discount code. I've shot Fuji forever and recently switched to Sony. Could not get rid of these ugly yellow/green cast in my video footage. Phantom LUTs to the rescue!! And they even have my favorite Fuji profile of all time - Eterna. Thx!!
I got lucky and found fx3 this week so been playing with these Luts on some slog3 footage I found online while waiting for it to come. Definitely best luts by far
Wow it looks amazing! Thanks for giving us some insights into your workflow. May I ask why you shoot with iso 1600 in a controlled lighthing situation like this in your studio?
Bit late to the party here, but these are great thanks for the recommendation! I just downloaded and Added to some footage wow.. and I love these LUTS!
Thank you for the video. Quick question. When using SLOG3 and Phantom Luts do I need to convert the footage to Rec 709 first and then drop a phantom LUT on or can I just slap one directly onto the SLOG3 footage? Thank you
When you put on these LUTs, do you do any adjustments prior? For example, highlights, shadows, etc? Or these good to go without needing to adjust. If you do make those changes, do you put the LUT on before or after the basic corrections?
I also recently downloaded the latest version and have been highly impressed, however it only works well with those two cameras and SLG - whereas (e.g.) Leeming is pretty good with a range of Sony cameras and other profiles such as HLG and Cine2 for similar price.
Hello, great, Sorry, I'm a beginner, I don't speak English, I will use a translator, I would like to know in DaVinci resolve how we would use these Luts, if there would be a need to use a CST to convert to Rec 709 or if those Luts are used directly on slog 3 in the case from Sony?, thank you!!! 👍👍👍
I’m not sure if I’m being a total idiot but I need help!!!! I have a canon r5, shooting in clog3 and so I purchased the canon pack of luts. On some correctly exposed footage the lut just looks whack, nothing like a one click fix or anything that can be used. I then thought maybe I need to put the ftg into rec709 first, but that wasn’t helping. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but someone help!!!!😅
Hello thanks for the Video I have a canon M50 8 bit camera I managed to download CLOG on the camera from EOSHD instead of the cenistyle will the luts work on it.
Awesome video! I might just have to check these out because I suck at color grading as well and typically just shoot in S-Cinetone.......But I guess I still need to get good white balance
Would anyone know if these LUTs work well applied to a Cinema DNG file, converted from ProResRaw on to my Ninja V from Sony A7s3 S-log footage? Could I apply same workflow, but using the camera raw sliders to make adjustments?
I just bought Phantom Luts after watching this. Phantom Lut requires PP8 but PP8 is gone. I can find slog3 and SGamut3Cine but cant find other settings equivent of PP8, knee, gamma, details, sharpness etc. In Readme, sharpness is -7 but I cant do that since PP8 is gone now. And I dont know what to do. Please help.
Help me out here. I'd like to shoot in Slog3. But I find myself doing long one takes with widely varied lighting conditions. Kinda have to leave the camera in auto aside from shutter speed. How trustworthy is SLOG3 and by extension these luts in handling exposure outcomes that change pretty drastically within a single say, hour long clip?
Never used it that long, but I have used it in auto settings pretty extensively. Auto shutter speed is definitely the best option because it’s more gradual. Going to suck for motion blur though
Chris, love your channel, just grabbed my first sony camera. Can I ask how high you are willing to push the ISO in the A7iv when you are shooting SLOG3? Obviously i know its ideal to stay close to the native ISO, but I'm just curious how far you go in a pinch? Thanks for your video.
🙏🏼 .. In terms of ISO I’m personally of the mindset that I’d rather get the shot with some noise than underexpose it. Go as high as you need to go, I have no issue hitting 8-10k
@@chrisbrockhurst pushing iso is not problem only for Noise. its also problem that it will reduce your DR . so pushing in camera or overexposing in nle won't matter

Dude, these are so good looking! Thanks Chris, I appreciate the video man. Stoked to start playing around with footage and getting these dialed in!
They are amazing, enjoy using them!
cosign! these kits have improved my life even on the a73
Absolutely incredible LUTs he’s made

You should always shoot at native ISO bro. You get the most dynamic range and least amount of noise. Was surprised to see you weren't.
I got lucky and found fx3 this week so been playing with these Luts on some slog3 footage I found online while waiting for it to come. Definitely best luts by far
I use these Luts and they make shooting in Slog 3 a no-brainer. Great video Chris, you got my sub :)
Forgot to add a great product from a fellow Aussie..... Lockdown time well spent!
Hahah right!!?
Wow it looks amazing! Thanks for giving us some insights into your workflow. May I ask why you shoot with iso 1600 in a controlled lighthing situation like this in your studio?
These luts are now part of me haha. The rendering is just INCREDIBLE!
Personally Utopia is my favorite
I’ve been liking that one recently too, with the snow comes new colours and it works nicely!
We’re can you get the luts
Does anyone know what the difference is between the “legacy cube” and the regular ones are?
I've been using these with SLog 2 on my Sony A7C. Love them! Not quite the same results as an A7Siii but still really really good!

You don’t need to convert it to rec but it come with phantom rec just incase.
@@Worldfactnewslife thank you
Thank you so much for this video. As a beginner I need these tips and tricks
Great video. Thanks…
When overexposed, is it better to correct the exposure before or after the LUT (in DaVinci)?
Thanks again…
That’s amazing! Could they work on slightly older cameras like the legendary A7iii?
Another great vid. Thank you. Any idea if / how these might work matching up A7iii & A7iv footage?
When you put on these LUTs, do you do any adjustments prior? For example, highlights, shadows, etc? Or these good to go without needing to adjust. If you do make those changes, do you put the LUT on before or after the basic corrections?
None. If you expose how you want it to look it is as easy as I showed. 1 click.
@@chrisbrockhurst I found that if you have the S log assist turned on and it looks good with that on, you are good to go.

Oh man what a bargain! Great video. You’re an inspiration 🥲. Thank you 🙏
it will be helpful showing phantom luts workflow in davinci.. its big confusing on which color science and input space settings.
I use the phantom luts from Joel with my FX6 👍🏻 I am still testing to find the best exposure settings for the luts 😉
Enjoy your videos… really helpful. Thanks!
🙏🏼
I actually dont know what sony colors look like because Ive been using these from day 1 lol. The updated ones he just released are a big upgrade!
Definitely going to check this out! Maybe I can finally look less like a vampire in my footage...
Hey Chris, I see in your camera monitor that you are shooting in the "F" mode. What mode is that? Cheers!
can i use it for my sony a6700? or is this luts just for limited cameras? please guide
Nice! I do like these LUTs a lot. I sometimes shoot SLOG3 on my A7C but its not ideal for 8 bit footage (from what I hear and see)
I've shot many short films and tv shows in 8bit. Nothing wrong with it at all! :). A7C is a fantastic camera.
What picture profile do you use?
Will those LUTs also work for Slog footage from sony a6500?

Can phantom lutbbe used for the zve10 footage? Thanks!
fine, I'll try them
That’s right you will
I love Phantom Luts also. Can't wait for the Film Lut Updates that should be releaed soon :-)

Promo code Chris doesn't work anymore
Yeah these looks so good!
always wanted to try it .. but buying luts seems a bit out if budget for me
Thanks. Just ordered!
I just downloaded these and Premiere doesn't recognize any of the files?
love phantom luts
I do not get the same color using the easton lut. I wish
Can I use these Luts on footage from a7cii?
What are your picture profile settings
Would anyone know if these LUTs work well applied to a Cinema DNG file, converted from ProResRaw on to my Ninja V from Sony A7s3 S-log footage? Could I apply same workflow, but using the camera raw sliders to make adjustments?
Yes, 1 million times over. Yes
Which LUT pack should I get for my Sony a6600? The legacy one's or the normal ones? Because it's an 8 bit camera I assume I have to shoot in Slog2...
Does this work with the sony a74?
I assume they will work with a7-4 too as it has 10ibit and slog3..
Different sensor, so yes they will work but not identically

@@chrisbrockhurst Thanks Chris, how about setting the sharpness -7 to apply to PP8 mentioned in the Readme?
Ciao volevo sapere se queste lut vanno bene per una Sony a 7 iii

You don’t use zebras to expose your skin?
Can these luts not work for a7riii?
Great video. Is the S Log 3 good to record on the ZV1 for youtube videos?
Don’t use log on the ZV1, stick with the default picture profile
