- It took less than 30 minutes for a police K-9 to find a missing woman. Body camera video from Georgia's Johns Creek Police Department shows officers starting the search for the 73-year-old. Officers put a K-9 named Pandora on the hunt. Officials say the woman they were searching for had diminished mental health. In just 22 minutes, Pandora's sensitive nose located the missing woman. And Pandora got a few pats from the woman whose scent she had picked up on.
I love how the cop gave proper credit to his dog 🥰
That's part of the training, it's their incentive since day one...
@@Romy--- I was talking about what he said to the other cop 😊
It shows integrity, but he sells himself short.
It took a lot of learning, training, and ability on his part too. The tracking was all doggo, but he was responsible for all the set-up that got them there.
So credit was earned by both, but he gave it all to his dog.
I respect that, but he's wrong. He is responsible for this outcome too.
"I'm just the dummy at the end of the leash".
Love it!
That's an officer who sees his dog as his partner, not an inferior.
so true for so many of us!
So sweet
❤❤❤ humility

"Do ya like doggies?" Somehow EVERYONE becomes a 6-year-old when in the presence of a happy dog.
😂❤ truth
I got a Pit Beagle mix. Same thing.
That's not true.
I remain an adult even amongst animals, otherwise they would not see me as a good leader.
@@OriginalPuroare you a narc
@@OriginalPuro You're fun at parties too I bet...

Facts.

Absolutely. You read my mind.
Truth.
I don't know what's more amazing; a dog's sense of smell or the fact our own scent can hang around in the air or on surfaces for so long after we've left?
It is pretty amazing. When I was training my pup to hunt truffles, I would leave her in the house and would have to walk all over my yard before burying the target bottle. As soon as I would let her out of the house she would trace my scent all over the yard until she found the bottle.
It's because we constantly shed skin cells.
hehe imagine what I can do with my farts
Look for the Mark Rober video where he tried to fool a tracking dog. Tried more tricks than a magician. Dog was not impressed, found him, no problem at all.
My sons dog smells the grass outside and knows instantly if gran is home for snacks
what a humble man. treats the dog and everyone with respect
It always amazes me how smart animals can be. Pandora is a good and she deserves all the treats and belly rubs
Yeah but it's their nose in this case.
smart? following a smell doesn't make you smart.....
@@zombieblaster5754I bet you’re fun at a party☹️
@@zombieblaster5754can you train your dog to find someone that your dog never met?
Following one smell doesn't make you smart... but finding and following one specific smell and ignoring all the other interesting smells and sights and sounds makes you pretty bloody smart... Pandora was given a sniff/smell ( a series or combination of scents) and given the job to identify the lady. The smell would be from an item someone else handled (probably more than one person technically) and yet still found the lady.
Pandora had to scent the air with her nose, filter out all but the one scent she was told to focus on and then decide which way the scent trail was moving...
If you think of all the different things that could change or move the scent trail around like the wind patterns, the movement of other people, animals and vehicles, background scents that may be overpowering: the body odour of the handler and other people or a dead animal nearby or smoke, the environmental smells, etc then you realise how intense the search is for Pandora and her sniffer (nose).
To find someone who was lost within half an hour of starting the search is a very quick time.
Ive been involved with searches that lasted days and a couple that lasted weeks. The way a K9 team searches is very different to a human search team without a dog.... It's a learning experience to watch the dog search and to see how the handler can identify when the dog is scenting the target or not... The way the dogs body language changes depending on what they smell.. They usually have different ways of holding themselves if they smell an alive versus dead target, if the target is injured versus healthy, and the dog usually senses if they need to be gentle and friendly versus on guard and watchful. I saw one dog multiple times and he would act differently and be gentle, allowing pats and belly rubs, with kids and frail targets and then the next time be the typical K9 watching and barking, not allowing the target to get close. He seemed to pick up the handlers thoughts/feelings and be happy to do either job.
Blessings from South Eastern Australia, Dot
My dog would’ve took them to a different state lol
That’s a fact mine too like “yea just keep the treats coming we almost there” lol 😂
Still a gud boi.
😂❤
Lmao same😂😂😂😂
Mine would have FOUND her in a different state.....
...as long as the lady had his FOOD DISH.
The cop needs a raise for treating that dog so good! What a good dude! ❤
The lil "YAYY"😮from the officer was so cuteee😭😭
That "YAAAY!" was so wholesome! Great job Pandora!
The dog’s handler very clearly loves dogs. He talks to her in “silly dad baby voice.
The way he was talking to her, the more baby voice. The man is clearly secure enough in his manhood… that a video being freaking adorable. We could use more of him in policing.
Awe, Pandora opened her "box" of scent glands and got the assignment done! Bravo Pandora! 😊❤
Scent glands create scents, not sense them.
@@GustafUNL its just a joke. Get a sense of humor!!!
@@benetta8275a Scent of humor.... Hehe
@@Notell. I see what you did there. Nice!😂
@@GustafUNLit's a pandoras box joke 😂
K9 police dogs worth their weight in gold! Both my husband and son were trained to become K9 officers, and I saw firsthand what a great job officer and dog do as they worked.
YOU WENT TO WORK WITH THEM? Wow.. When I served we didn';t allow that. lol.
We love you Pandora!!!
God bless the officers who acted so quick. Bravo Pandora!!!!
Thank goodness. That lady didn't even realize she was lost.
Yeah absolutely nothing said that
Bro that dog needs a raise
Raise of treats 💀
Kudos to Pandora and the police officers! She did a fantastic job finding the missing lady alive. This is heartwarming. Even better, no foul play was involved this time.
“I’m just a dummy at the end of the leash man.” What a humble officer. God bless him and Pandora.
What a good girl!!
i love the way he talks to the dog
What a very happy ending to a sad and scary incident.
Huge thanks to the entire police department, especially beautiful Pandora and the handler.
I’m sure this lovely lady had a joyful reunion with her family.❤
So thankful for our animals in service
Such a sweet humble and kind cop 🥰
Thanks I needed a happy story
Don't we all these days 😊
Every dog owner can relate: A childish talk😅😊
She is a very good doggy indeed ❤❤
Thank you to Pandora and her police handlers 😊
Thank God she was found safely. Good job Pandora!
They’re not called man’s best friend for nothing.
❤❤❤❤God bless the officers and Pandora! Praying for the lady whom Pandora found as well as her loved ones 🙏 😊
Finally, a story where the cop isn’t called a half a dozen different nasty names. 🙌
Maybe some of the ego-driven aggressive ones could take a lesson from this seemingly kind cop and you'd see much less hostility.
I love how she worked back and forth to keep the scent! Brilliant team! Well done.
Good girl Pandora
"I'm just the dummy at the end of the leash" LOL 😂
I got a tree walker hound named Oliver he could track down his cat buddy over 20 Acres with just the scent.
Dog's sense of smell is amazing.
Had a collie when I was a kid. Dog was never trained to track. Never used as a hunting dog.
If I was walking him and a family member came home, he would smell them as soon as he got into the house and tracked them through the house until he found them. He would know the difference between a fresh scent and old scent so if you walked through a few rooms and then into the bathroom, he would race through all of the rooms and then wait at he bathroom because it had the most recent scent and he knew you didn't come out next.
Amazing.
Thank you officers, especially K9 Officer Pandora. Great work!
Great job Pandora and officer that handles her. Heroism!
What a fantastic officer Pandora is and to think she only works for treats and lots of love ❤️ Her handler gave her all the credit because she did do all the work. Love this story❣️ The woman wasn’t even aware she was lost she was just happy to see the dog and meet some new friends in uniform ❤
Pandora didn't just open the box she closed the case 😊
What a great respectful K9 officer. You can feel the bond he has with Pandora through the screen
Great cop, competent and modest, that’s serving the community. Well done.
Thats a handler who is a friend of his partner dog. Love those kind of people. Blessings for everyone involved.
What a good pup, what a good cop 😁
What a good girl!! 🥰
Amazing...absolutely amazing.
man's best friends Dogs ,, love it
What about Cats? 🐈⬛
Omg just out there in her dressing gown in the woods ❤😭 “wanna pet her?” “Yeah! ☺️🥰” my HEART ❤️
Pandora earned Dog of the Year on this one ✊
So incredible! ❤️ 🐶
Great work, Ms. Pandora!
Yay Pandora you rock girl!❤❤❤
I hope that woman is doing alright now. Dementia is so cruel. Good on the officers.
Nothing was said about dementia
@themindeclectic9821 sources said she had a "diminished mental state" which is what dementia is. De-mentia. Diminished mentality. She wandered into the woods and was confused and unreactive to police looking for her. She's clearly not all there
Yay Pandora! ❤👍. Good work
Pandora the explorer …excellent work!! Can you say “winning”??
That's great. In 26 years in EMS I have never seen the search dogs in our area find anyone.
Including once where two dogs walked right past the house where the two missing children were. Within thirty feet.
Twice.
And they never seemed like they had the slightest idea that they had been in the area, much less were still there.
Thank you for saying “diminished mental health”. It’s an excellent lesson stigmatizing way to stare an honest truth.
Also what an amazing officer team, thank you Pandora and partner!
It is a stupid euphemism, like all euphemisms.
@@franciscopino5284 actually it’s a literally factual statement.
@@mostlyvoid.partiallystars True. As true as the fact that you can swear that sociopaths, drug-addicts, people suffering from alzheimer, stress, PTS, depression and many other conditions have "diminished mental health". So, we don't know if that woman is a serial killer, an alcoholic, suffers from alzheimer, autism, trisomy21 or what that stupid meaningless euphemism means.
Thank goodness Mama was found. Great job, Pandora ❤
😭 awe made me cry ❤
This is the news that my soul needs. There’s always another tragedy. But we should also acknowledge the good times. It’s heartwarming. I’m so glad that this police officer and Pandora, where there to help this lovely lady. Love ❤️ from Australia 🇦🇺
My heart to those, who have family members like this, it's sad and hard to handle at times
OMGOSH!! GOOD GIRL PANDORA!! I care for my 89yr old mom who has a bit of dementia, and this is everyone's biggest fear. It only takes turning around for a few minutes, or taking a shower, or going to the bathroom, and even though you take precautions, someone can just get up unlock the door and wonder off. I guess the sooner you report the incident the better. I think a lot of people think they can find their family member themselves and don't want to bother police, but sadly it doesn't always end well. With all of the horrible things police officers have to deal with everyday, on those occasions where they can find and bring an elderly person or child back home to their families, well, that's a damn good. day for them. I can't imagine the gratitude the family felt, as well as the fear of what might happen to their elderly family member. What a glorious day for Pandora's handler!! All the many hours of training, and to get to see the fruits of all that labor.. WONDERFUL!!
Aww, I love this! Great job pandora, you probably just saved her life!
I love to hear a good rescue story. I'm sure that lady was so scared, being lost an alone. Great job for Pandora an her partner. Thank you for showing that good things still happen in this world.
That is absolutely outstanding
The cop is so proud.
Pandora is such a cool and unique name for a dog like that!
Good cops rock ! I love how he rightfully gave Pandora the credit and treats !!! So happy Pandora found her safe and sound !!! ❤❤
God Bless Y'all !!!
He loves his girl, Pandora! ❤❤
What an amazing creature!
As humans we don't give our beautiful creatures enough credit for their unique understanding of how they can serve us.. even if it's just showing us their loyalty and love.☮️💓🇬🇧
So awesome im glad pandora and her owner found the woman safe and sound
So glad everyone is safe. 😊
The dog did a great job! This is why we use animals to rescue people.
Good work 👍👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤

Oh, 2 minutes ago!
Also, very good scent decifering.

Awesome job by both of these officers.

Thank you Pandora!!!
Great she was found really fast very amazing how K-9 Dogs know to work especially when someone is in danger ⚠️ or if someone is on the run from the law.
This made me cry
Had a cat called Pandora. What a lovely name for a K9 hero. The officer has the humility to give all the credit to his dog. God bless.
Long live Pandora 🐕 ❤!
The officer was so proud & happy of Pandora 😊

Good job, Pandora.
Excellent ❤❤❤
It is unbelieveable how dogs can follow a scent like that, for someone they have never smelled before.
So insane and impressive!!! ❤
