What’s the deal with Waldorf Toys? And do kids really play with them?

  • I’m sure if you’re on social media at all, you’ve seen Waldorf toys - the beautiful wood toys in all the colors of the rainbows, the play silks, the old fashioned soft dolls. I’m sure you’ve thought, “sure they’re beautiful, but what’s their purpose? And do kids even play with them?!” Well, I’m here to answer your questions around Waldorf toys.
    Beyond just their beautiful aesthetic, these toys have a real purpose to them and I’m here to honestly answer whether or not kids really play with them.

    I’m a new grandma and definitely see the value in these open ended toys.

    I have a grimms rainbow for my son (7m old) it'ssuch a fun toy. Most of our toys are woldorf toys. I like to say the mark of a good toy is that it has the power to draw even an adult into play. If you line all the arches up, then send a car down it, it plays a diatonic scale.

      Yes! And one of my favorite parts of most Waldorf toys is that they grow with your child. My son is almost 7 and still plays regularly with our rainbow and has since he was a toddler!
