- I cannot over stress the importance of real, true friends. Contrary to popular rumours Freddie did have friends all over the world and they were always ready to do anything for him, as they knew he would do his utmost for them. I heard a truth the other day which I want to share with you; '100 acquaintances do not make up for the loss of 1 real friend'. When I heard that I immediately thought of Freddie, he was surrounded by many people, but he did understand that his friends were nearby!

I find it a glaring omission that his most trusted friend, Mary Austin, was not even mentioned; he trusted no one more than Mary, clearly. And she was there from the beginning. He said he could not love any man the way loved Mary and no one could compete for the value she brought to his life. So I find it incomprehensible.she was not the first example of enduring friendship in Freddy's life.
If I was Freddie, you would have been my personal assistant and best friend, too. Thank you so so much for you and for all your warm and lovely words, Peter.

Loyalty is the best thing that anybody can do for one another
I get the feeling Freddie really loved his family, especially his Mum. However, I don’t think the world would have had the opportunity to have this special and talented man in their lives if she did not allow him to freely live his own life, apart from her. It’s all history now, but I am sure it was a difficult life for him to be away from his family, which is why I believe he surrounded himself with friends and people he trusted. God bless you, Freddie, and thank you for the sacrifices you and your family made to bring us your genius talent.

Because of Freddie's kindness, his close friends adored him. He was special and they knew it. The world also opened their hearts to him,they saw in him a treasure trove of love and kindness in him. Hi Peter, thank you for your lovely video. It makes me so happy to know that Freddie was never depressed, nor sad or lonely. I am all of these...through no fault of my own. I have had clinical depression since a child, and despite drugs, I always have felt that that intrinsic happiness that I assume most people have, has never made an appearance in my life. I am not feeling sorry for myself nor want sympathy. I am just genuinely relieved that beautiful Freddie never felt this way. I have family and a beautiful daughter, but I've never felt loved - only ever felt loved by my dog! I am a giver, and have been burnt by friends and lovers who just suck me dry. So I have become very withdrawn and thus don't have many I call friends. I would have given anything to be one of Freddie s mere mortal friends! That type of love, care and loyalty i crave. Maybe in heaven, who knows!
Just a question, if you happen to read this. Where the heck did Freddie buy his clothes?? Eg his crazy tees like the Betty boop one, and his yellow striped vest and pink shorts, and yellow track suit, then his more sedate late 80s early 90s patterned shirts? I'm just curious if he went down to local high street and chain stores?!

God, I wish I could set with you outside Garden Lodge and listen to you tell your stories about what life was like for Freddie Mary and yourself back when Freddie was still alive. I live in the U.S. I never had a mom or dad nor sisters or brothers. At age 59 I do have kids and a wife. But keep to myself. I enjoy helping others and am a very kind and caring person. It's so hard to find a friend or friends that you can trust and be there for them. That is honest caring and don't just want something from you. I wish you all the best Peter in the future. You seem to me to be a very warm kind and caring person who would make a great friend.

Eventhough you may have been Freddie Mercurys PA and be required to be at his side when he wanted you to be, it seems like you were more his best friend than employee just from everything I've seen online and from stories both you and Freddie's other friends and acquaintances have mentioned. So I'd say you and Mary were the two most important people in Freddie's live and I can see from the outside looking in that your caring nature, personality,upbeat spirit and loyalty were all the reasons why he chose to make you one of those two most important people.
