  • Apologies for any weird sound in advance!
    Part one of two manual transmission upgrades!
    These two combined give the effect of an almost gated manual transmission.
    Part two includes the process and fitting of detent springs and selector springs! On an FN2 which I have not yet seen yet!
    What these parts do:
    Detent spring - this enable the shift into gear to be more positive with a definite click and firmness when it’s sucked in.
    This enables quicker harder shifting
    The selector springs - These pair perfectly with the detents. They increase the neutral centering of the shifter hardness to enable an amazing 2nd to 3rd shift and protecting you from the dreaded 1-2-1 money shift!

    Those Detents look perfect to fix our problem, we sometimes find we cannot get into first gear when the car is stationary but fine when rolling to a stop.
    Thanks dude

    AHH man, i would love to do this to mine... i dont suffer from syncro issues or a massive amount of slop in the stick but it does feel a bit hard to find gears sometimes. I think i need to look for another car to get to work and back before i even attempt this.

    • @Matty_Champwhite
      @Matty_Champwhite  Год назад

      This exactly how man was, just a bit sloppy with no other issues.
      I highly highly recommend it

      @@Matty_Champwhite Massively tempted pal, not going to lie. Love the sound of the changes in yours now... almost ASMR like :''). Ive been looking for a cheap AUDI a2 or a C2 vti recently to just get me about for a month or so, so i can get bits done on the car but the bank balance isn't agreeing with me at the moment haha.

    Hey do you know if the fn2 and fd2 type r shifter cables are interchangeable? Seems no aftermarket brands have shifter cable kit for fn2… my shifter cable is bent and will need to be replaced anyway.. but honda genuine stock one costs almost the same as the hybrid racing one so wonder if theres any solution to use one of the cable kits from them.

    • @Matty_Champwhite
      @Matty_Champwhite  Месяц назад +1

      @@hkgkagami I know the cables are likely different as the aftermarket ones list a different part number per models.
      Little help sorry

      @@stefanmills2266 these do help engagement, but most likely worn synchros in your case, sounds like a gearbox rebuild job
