To be honest, in ME2 I really didn't like him. He sorta made sense in some ways, but it wasn't till ME3 that I saw him as the only Admiral to make sense out of the lot of them.
@@danielharvison7510 He was basically the only one who sought peace or at least have his people move on and find a new world to settle on, but their culture since their exile was based on their idea of their wayward home lost to them by the great enemy. It's ironically a form of indoctrination that was used to keep the fires of conflict burning bright in the hearts of the Quarians. He saw beyond that but try to forcefully drag your people to change their views when everyone is against you for it, it's no wonder he was so harsh in ME2, Tali's father was 100% for war and Tali was mostly for it too, so he had a rather low opinion of her. Though if you succeed with the trial and the following conflict between Tali and Legion, she sees his views and believes peace is possible as well, so he's grown wiser and more soft spoken in ME3
You know for a fact that Tali is fogging up her visor after that display from Shepard. "Germs be damned I'm getting me some of that tonight!" lol Always my favorite romance option.
@@stevenlittrel2648 pretty sure she soaked herself, considering she canonically has the hots for Shepard by that point (assuming you play male Shep ofc)
Funnily enough, this was the nicest my Shepard had been throughout the entire series. I made it so he interacts with the crew kindly, but he hates talking to other people other than his crew
Tali's trial is easily my favorite renegade moment. That goes double if you bring Legion. There's also Tali's follow up comment, "It's been a long time since anyone shouted down the admirals like that...I think they needed it.
I love how being renegade still lets you do things that would be considered the best option, rather then having the only way to get Tali off the hook is to be a good guy. they let you be an asshole in favor of doing the right thing. and that's great!
I love how Shepard is prepared to just leave but when Koris calls it a formal proceeding he turns around, storms back up, and verbally bitchslaps the court
God bless save editing. I started the game out with basically half the renegade bar full so Shepard looked basically fully scarred through the game and was "healing up" with time due to my mostly paragon gameplay. But here I did the same. Shepard was pissed with how Tali was treated through that whole ordeal, how they send her to her probable death and how she wasn't aware of her father fate before the trail. I like quarians but ironically my Shepard is more compassionate towards krogans than them. Screaming at them, punching their general in the stomach and so on. Unlike with krogans leaders my Shepard felt about quarians that he will save them despite them trying really hard to effing die.
The difference is the Krogan Listen when Quarian Admirals don't. Sure, things got hot on Sur Khesh but they stood down when we told them to and ultimately only betray the Galaxy if you sabotage the cure. The Quarians almost killed us over *one ship*. An incredibly good soldier, who potentially saved one of their ships and possibly half a dozen Quarians lives in the last game, who was also is the acting Alliance Attache and possibly Council Spectre. Han'Gerrel is lucky all he got was a gut punch and an eviction, we would have been morally and politically justified to shoot him.
Honestly, *everyone* should be more sympathetic toward the Krogan than the Quarians. The Krogan are willing to fight to save the future of intelligent life so long as you're willing to help guarantee they'll have a future to fight for. The Quarians are so obsessed with reclaiming a mythologized version of their past that they started a suicidal war at the worst possible moment, and you need to actively go out of your way to save them from extinction.
This is why 2 is my favorite, in 1 renegade choices mostly felt like Shepard was just being a giant prick for no reason. In 2 you get more stuff like this which feels like an actual reasonable choice you would want.
I'm a paragon man (well...i always choose what i would do if i was there and i really go for paragon most of the time) but we can't forget our man Shepard back in 2183 saying "You big stupid jellyfish"
The ones I could fail, I've done that lol. Fun fact, if you save right before going into this room, you can submit evidence to the admirals and see what happens, even beat the rest of the game if you wish, but then just reload the save. Tali gets so fucking pissed at Shepard.

I just did this option in my most recent Renegade playthrough and honestly I love it when Shepherd jumps down the Admirals throats! Then when you talk to Kal'Reegar afterward he's like, "Damn Shepherd! Bout time someone gave them a good talking."
That is *exactly* what it is. Heck, there’s a renegade line that basically says “I let 10,000 innocent people die, including some of the most powerful individuals in the galaxy. For your own sake, I hope you have a better plan than to hope I have sympathy.”
Not gonna lie. When Shepard thrust his hand out, I expected there to be a gun in that hand. Then I hear the way he shoots down the council with a few choice words and I'm like "Naw, he didn't need a gun."
Koris spluttering in complete shock and defeat will always make me happy. I always play Paragon shep but goddamn renegade shep has some absolute badass moments
I loved when the games sometimes gave you the option to do cool Paragon/Renegade shit even when you specialized otherwise. Hitting the lady in the face - twice - in ME3 was the best thing ever, even as Paragon Shep.
0:21 I wish there was a Renegade prompt here where Shepard punches and dents the railing in front of the admirals. Just to really hammer the point home.
I mean, you get to punch gerrel in nuts in 3 But yeah, I would've loved some renegade physical moment. Honestly im kind of bummed we don't got the option to lay into them the second they throw the fact that Rael is most likely dead in Tali's face. Like yeah, we do get "the hell is this" kind of line but Shepard going full Krogan at that moment would've been awesome imo
My OC watching from the Lucid dream coma: "I like this one. I want to keep him. And if anything happened to him I will kill the galaxy then myself" *Proceeds to repeat watch the Trial*
I love how the Paragon option is a sublime speech worthy of a galaxy hero whilst the Renegade option is a "I AIN'T HAVING ANY OF THIS" every single time
This whole scene is S-tier gold. Koris' stuttering, Shepard laying down the vocal hammer of the gods on an entire species and of course Garrus in the background wanting to go home
I've always done Paragon Shepard but after someone recommended a Renegade run I just cannot play any other way anymore. Renegade/Renegon Shepard feels like playing as Jack Bauer from 24 and I love it ... sure, it comes with sacrifice and loss but it makes the whole adventure just more interesting, engaging and believing IMO. The rogue agent that ppl hate to love is always a great way to experience a story. Also, these kind of protagonists are the hardest part to understand which makes them so fascinating and entertaining at the same time. So, just in case anyone considers doing a Renegade run ... go for it! It's totally worth it! And don't worry, I played FULL Renegade and still got the 'perfect' ending' (in case that's what your are going for) since morality does not affect endings or romance options; it rather resembles different approaches on how to play/experience a story to give the player a wide range of possibilities while still telling a coherent story. That is just one reason why I love these games.
I hope the new Mass Effect game has Shepard as the main Portagonist. The connection with Shepard is so good, it's hard to express into words. One of the best characters in gaming history.
This is tied for me with Renegade Shepard's response to Khalisa that she disrespects all those who died on the Citadel by trying to use them as a gotcha point. "They deserve better than you."

To be honest, in ME2 I really didn't like him. He sorta made sense in some ways, but it wasn't till ME3 that I saw him as the only Admiral to make sense out of the lot of them.
They literally made a mad scientist one of their highest ranking officials! No wonder they lost their world to synthetics of their own creation.
Though if you succeed with the trial and the following conflict between Tali and Legion, she sees his views and believes peace is possible as well, so he's grown wiser and more soft spoken in ME3
ME3 made him my favorite, aside'Raan and obviously Tali.
I like that Shepard in this scene does not makes any favourites. He disses them all.
Tali, get your things! We're leaving! Before this cruddy ship burns to the ground...
Tali get your thigs! We'Re leaving.
Great reference, bro. 👉😎👉
Tali: Yes, daddy.
Okay, new goal for the Tali Loyalty mission.
Use "the Chewbacca defense"!
You know for a fact that Tali is fogging up her visor after that display from Shepard. "Germs be damned I'm getting me some of that tonight!" lol Always my favorite romance option.
"Shepard.... Please"
She knows it's going to be a shitshow.
Like a kid asking their parent not to embarrass them.
Tail five seconds later “it’s fun watching you shout.”
That was my second playthrough
Anti-social Shep.
I was so excited to use this option during my Renegade playthrough and I couldn't stop laughing
Tali's trial is easily my favorite renegade moment. That goes double if you bring Legion.
There's also Tali's follow up comment, "It's been a long time since anyone shouted down the admirals like that...I think they needed it.
And we got the follow up kick in 3 agfter the Dreadnought mission
Love how he drags each of them for filth and they're just like yeah u right
As a lawyer, I swear, by almighty god, this is true and correct to my knowledge and belief.
"Tali Zorah, in light of your Commander making us shit ourselves today, we do not find sufficient evidence to convict."
I swear I heard that one guy choke on his own bile in flustered guilt! 🤐
Admiral Korris "And I am glad I wore my brown pants today."
I love how being renegade still lets you do things that would be considered the best option, rather then having the only way to get Tali off the hook is to be a good guy. they let you be an asshole in favor of doing the right thing. and that's great!
Renegade is not being an asshole, It is about being ruthless
@@ever611there's an overlap in a lot of situations in game😂
Damn Shepard has such sheer badassary. he had such Tenacity in his convictions that he single-handedly shut them down by not even trying.
I love how Shepard is prepared to just leave but when Koris calls it a formal proceeding he turns around, storms back up, and verbally bitchslaps the court
Shep: "You wanted her out"
Koris: "Well now she can't leave"
Shep: COWABUNGA it is
"That's a nice argument Commander, care to back it up with a source?"
"My source is that I made it the fuck up!"
When I first got to this moment in the game I understood the appeal of being renegade.
Yo he deserved that punch, I do that in every paragon playthrough
@@UnfortunateSon32 yeah that fucker tried to blow us up with the Geth Dreadnought
To be fair, screaming at the krogans and punching their leaders is a good diplomatic strategy.
@@La-hora-del-terror in his defense, it truly was a big stupid jellyfish 😂
This gives me the sudden urge to do everybody's loyalty mission and fail them miserably for some reason
The ones I could fail, I've done that lol. Fun fact, if you save right before going into this room, you can submit evidence to the admirals and see what happens, even beat the rest of the game if you wish, but then just reload the save. Tali gets so fucking pissed at Shepard.
I've never been douchey enough to betray my homie even in Renegade runs but I really wanna do it now XD
@@WebbanationX What got me able to do it was... sheer curiosity. Sometimes you just want to jump into a frozen lake... just to have a new experience. ... metaphorically. Lol
you can't fail them all, think Jacob Miranda Jack Garrus Grunt Legion Mordin and Kasumi have perimeter points that prevent it so you have to settle for half fails
@@aaron75fy There are only 3 characters I know of you can attempt the loyalty mission with and not get their loyalty by completing the mission.
Tali
Thane
Zaeed
Everyone else you automatically get their loyalty. That's 3 of 13. Not even half.
That said, it is still tempting to see what the worst case scenario looks like. Lol
Мне нравится, как Гаррус на фоне сидит такой "Вы продолжайте, я тут посижу пока"

I love Garrus just sitting there in the background like “Can we go home please Shepard?”
As a Paragon player, I have to admit there are times when the Renegade option is so much more satisfying. This is definitely one of those times.
I don't care if I'm a paragon or a Middle ground Sheperd. But I always choose this when I get to this part. It's just too dang good.
But if you are a paragon you don't have enough renegade points to do this
@@yogerrry One reason I liked ME3's rep system over this.
@@yogerrry I like to sometimes to be equal on para and Rene. But if I do have the points to choose this I usually do.
I just did this option in my most recent Renegade playthrough and honestly I love it when Shepherd jumps down the Admirals throats!
Then when you talk to Kal'Reegar afterward he's like, "Damn Shepherd! Bout time someone gave them a good talking."
nothing better than Sheppard saying "tali is awesome" and then walking out to get her loyalty and not exiled, plus it's hilarious
I mean, that's factually accurate
She really is awesome 😂
The renegade option in the mass effect games is just textbook "I have a gun and an incomprehensible kill-count, shut the fuck up."
Lol.
That's basically it.
That is *exactly* what it is.
Heck, there’s a renegade line that basically says “I let 10,000 innocent people die, including some of the most powerful individuals in the galaxy. For your own sake, I hope you have a better plan than to hope I have sympathy.”
@@blademaster2390god damn.... that line alone has me interested in playing.
@@Kspice9000yeah, renegade Shepard can be a douche, but he can also be the ultimate badass
"Get Fucked"~ Driver Nephi
"Hi, I'm Commander Shepard, you know you have rights? The codex says you do"
I believe that untill proven guilty every man, woman and child in this galaxy is innocent.
Not gonna lie. When Shepard thrust his hand out, I expected there to be a gun in that hand. Then I hear the way he shoots down the council with a few choice words and I'm like "Naw, he didn't need a gun."
That’s renegade in a nutshell. Does direct psychological damage and ignores armor, shields, and barriers.
He's a really good lawyer.
You should hire him to sue the Pinkertons and make your dreams of Tahiti real :)
"Yeah, murmur it up, D-bags."
I don't think I ever saw this version. And it's the most awesome one.
Man I loved this part, it's been so long. I wanted to make "This is a formal proceeding!" into a reaction image at the time.
There’s still time to make that a meme. With all the arguing going on in the world, the timing is perfect!
DO IT.
And send me a link, please
Shepard:
"THE HELMET DOESN'T FIT... IF IT DOESN'T FIT YOU MUST ACQUIT"
As an aspiring lawyer, I hope to make Shepard proud!
I'm Commander Shepard and I vouch for my crew, not the political gain of those who use them!
Koris spluttering in complete shock and defeat will always make me happy. I always play Paragon shep but goddamn renegade shep has some absolute badass moments
I like how Garrus is just sitting in the background not saying shit lol
Just an average Saturday night.
Shephard: "It's just so easy being evil. And I do it all for free. F**k this court. Tali, we're gonna leave."
I loved when the games sometimes gave you the option to do cool Paragon/Renegade shit even when you specialized otherwise. Hitting the lady in the face - twice - in ME3 was the best thing ever, even as Paragon Shep.
I love how garrus is just sitting back there just watching events unfold
He needed some Graxen
He knew they were done for 😂
They messed with Tali, no one messes with Tali
Sort of like "You are held in contempt of court!"
"Of course I'm in contempt of court, this court is contemptible."
"If the omni-tool does not fit, then you must acquit! "
"Commander Shepard. Do you have any new evidence to submit before the court?"
"You know what date is on this coin?"
"....not guilty."
Coin?
I don't get this reference. Unless it's an Ultrakill one
Gets asked if he's got any evidence, basically replies with, "fuck all y'all, I'm outta here." Best lawyer ever
0:21 I wish there was a Renegade prompt here where Shepard punches and dents the railing in front of the admirals. Just to really hammer the point home.
I mean, you get to punch gerrel in nuts in 3
But yeah, I would've loved some renegade physical moment.
I love the spit-stutter Koris makes at 0:28.
"Do you have any evidence to prove this?"
Renegade: "My source? My source is I made it the fuck up!"
Commander Shepard: Ace Attorney
I wanna replay the entire trilogy just to be Shepargade now XD
"Well we had evidence, but they ran away when Shepard started talking!"
Dude, thank you for making this video, it made me finally play the whole trilogy. I think i wasted over 500 hours of my life since that day.
Time i enjoyed wasting was not wasted or something like that
"I have nothing BUT contempt for this court!" energy
I really wanted him to yell OBJECTION! at least once at the time. XD
My source is that I made it the fuck up : commander Shepard after humiliating the council of captains
Being a badass is always the answer
I love how the Paragon option is a sublime speech worthy of a galaxy hero whilst the Renegade option is a "I AIN'T HAVING ANY OF THIS" every single time
Johnny Depp need renegade Shepard now!
John Shepard: Ace Attorney
I like how Shepherd just calls them out on their bullshit and ends the trial then and there
This whole scene is S-tier gold. Koris' stuttering, Shepard laying down the vocal hammer of the gods on an entire species and of course Garrus in the background wanting to go home
This is a Formal Preceding…
Shephard: Preceed Deez Nutz…
yeah im missing game like this.
action + exploration + story + side story + costumization both appearence and mechanic.
Stuff like this makes me miss renegade options in Andromeda. I miss being a badass...
0:59 wait a second... this is Shohreh Aghdashloo voice acting! And i wouldn´t have known, if i didn´t watch The Expanse...
He just leaves the admirals flabbergasted 😂
I hope the new Mass Effect game has Shepard as the main Portagonist. The connection with Shepard is so good, it's hard to express into words. One of the best characters in gaming history.
Fight like a Krogan, run like a leopard…
You’ll never be better than Commander Shepard
@@Level_Eleven that's funny because I literally named my character leopard shepard 😂
I love how Shepard just scared the admirals and the judge into pardoning Tali. Like, "fuck with me and my crew and see what happens" 😂
This is tied for me with Renegade Shepard's response to Khalisa that she disrespects all those who died on the Citadel by trying to use them as a gotcha point. "They deserve better than you."
This is legit a fantastic speech. This is what I was thinking during the entire quest
"When you're out of options, negate the terms of the trial."
