Why is this the evil option I like this response better

I'm not a fan of Ashley, I think she's one of the most boring companions in a game series that has a hell of a lot more to offer, but I think most fans seem to misunderstand her character, and this line in particular. She's been a soldier all her life, fighting to protect humanity, doing whatever it takes to get the job done. She always speaks her mind very clearly, and doesn't BS people to avoid hurting their feelings. Most recently she watched her entire team get killed while she was the sole surviver, and then watched in horror as they were turned into husks and attacked her again. Now, after all that, she steps foot on the citadel for the first time, and is discovering a brand new world of mainly politics and negotiation among so many different cultures and species, and says what she's thinking, which is that she can't tell all of these new and varried peoples apart, it's all too overwhelming. She puts it extremely bluntly, but again given her character and recent expiriences it makes sense. If you follow her character arc throught the rest of the trilogy, you'll find a much different Ashley at the end, one who has become ride or die with the rest of Shepard's excedingly varried crew.

This whole scene is S-tier gold. Koris' stuttering, Shepard laying down the vocal hammer of the gods on an entire species and of course Garrus in the background wanting to go home

I've always done Paragon Shepard but after someone recommended a Renegade run I just cannot play any other way anymore. Renegade/Renegon Shepard feels like playing as Jack Bauer from 24 and I love it ... sure, it comes with sacrifice and loss but it makes the whole adventure just more interesting, engaging and believing IMO. The rogue agent that ppl hate to love is always a great way to experience a story. Also, these kind of protagonists are the hardest part to understand which makes them so fascinating and entertaining at the same time. So, just in case anyone considers doing a Renegade run ... go for it! It's totally worth it! And don't worry, I played FULL Renegade and still got the 'perfect' ending' (in case that's what your are going for) since morality does not affect endings or romance options; it rather resembles different approaches on how to play/experience a story to give the player a wide range of possibilities while still telling a coherent story. That is just one reason why I love these games.

This was my finest moment during my second playthrough. I was the renegade bad boy who would do everything in his power to coddle my precious Tali no matter what!

This sequence is actually stupid if you apply an ounce of brainpower to it. Tali doesn't want you to present evidence to exonerate her because it makes her father look bad and would ruin his legacy. So to solve this conundrum you use Shepard's persuasive skill (paragon or renegade) to get Tali off the hook without presenting evidence. So far so good. But there are two issues. The first issue is: Is Tali guilty? If the quarians are persuaded that she is innocent then that leads to the second issue: How did the geth take over the ship? Its not like the quarians aren't going to ask this question, send their own people to investigate and figure out Rael is guilty. There is way more evidence than the one single recording that Shepard takes. So Tali basically wants to do a coverup for something that will be found out regardless. This also shows poor character on Tali's part and is a major case of main character syndrome. There are other people that died on that ship. Don't their families deserve justice, truth, and closure? Or is it just the personal feelings of squadmates that are important, screw everyone else? Completely pointless, unprincipled, and stupid.

Im pretty sure that reb shep failed this so hard that the outcome would have interfered with the plot had the court responded in an appropriate way. This means the plot gods had no choice but to intercede and act quickly to brush the whole trial under the rug so things could move along as planned. 🤔

I love how the Paragon option is a sublime speech worthy of a galaxy hero whilst the Renegade option is a "I AIN'T HAVING ANY OF THIS" every single time

in reality, the quarians are right, I mean, nothing outrageous has been asked, they are legitimately raising concerns and worried, a lot of assumptions yes, but for whom has played this game knows it's all about Tali's father's treatorious actions, you SHALL give the evidences

I miss games like mass effect trilogy halo trilogy gears of war trilogy and fable trilogy. What happened to our good games that just had good writing. Now it's all about pushing agendas and social politics. I'm so sick of it. It has ruined gaming.

I love how Shepard just scared the admirals and the judge into pardoning Tali. Like, "fuck with me and my crew and see what happens" 😂

And then Tali proceeded to have her world rocked by Shepherd in his private cabin.

No surprise, there's a mod that let's you do this regardless of your Paragon/Renegade level

You are required to do two things each playthrough: 1) Paragon Hug Tali, and 2) Renegade Interrupt the Trial
