I'd love to see a different example, say Shrivelling vs. Azure Flame. Or Magnifying Glass vs Fingerprint Kit. I agree on having a core set bread and butter example, but Machete is so much better than other options that more situational comparisons could have a lot of nuance, I think.

We could do something like that!

@@PlayingBoardGames Sweet. I could see it structed as tempo vs value, opportunity cost of slots, etc.

@@davidko9289 Seconded. I feel like a couple of examples in practice could make for a nice video. Ultimately, that *is* deck building, but it would make for a good "level 2" of this this one.

    Great video!
For assets with charges/ammo I really recommend picking a couple time point (e.g. 1 turn, 2 turns, 8 turns) then comparing their evaluation at each one. For example a big gun (5 cost) often has a worse 1 turn evaluation than machete because of the up front cost. By turn 2 the cost hasn't changed on the items, but the guns 2 extra resources to play have materialized as 5 extra test icons. (2 resources for 5 icons worth it?). Then I'd estimate 0.5 extra actions lost on machete by the risk of needing to evade a second enemy over a 2 turn period. Then extrapolate to the turn 8 mark. At this point the gun will need to be replaced 3 times, costing 3 additional actions, 15 additional resources, and 3 cards (but big asterisk for consistency). If you want to go further, you'd estimate scenario length and also evaluate at that time point.
This analysis gets more interesting if you compare a weapon with more damage output. Suddenly you start factoring in estimates of costs for things like actions to kill, extra actions costs to evade, and potential health and sanity loss. You nailed it when you mentioned the value of 3 damage actions.
I'd really love to hear your estimations on value beyond the previous video. What is a sanity worth on average? What is the average value of a 2 damage actions versus a 3 damage action? Is it 3 resources? More?
    Cheers!

    Nice Video.
One thing that comes to my mind when evaluating cards for my deck is the role-playing aspect.
Do I want to be a police inspector cutting monsters with a Machete? Or do I want to shoot bullets into dark youngs?

Hi, I really love your videos but please do something to fix the sound (in most of your videos). I'm no sound engineer, I don't know what causes these "scratch noises on the mic" but it's hard to listen with earphones (sometimes impossible to hear what you say) :)
Again, really love your content, this is just a thing that bugs me most of the time and that would further improve your content quality ;)
    Also, love your cat ^^'

We are currently in the process of saving for new microphones that we've tested in December. Unfortunately, the microphones we bought in August weren't all that they were advertised, so we've had to suffer with very sensitive microphone cables that have been causing those scratching sounds.
      We hate them too.

Great video for a new player to AHLCG. It would be really helpful if you would say which campaign the cards you show come from. 😀

Hey at around 7:36, how does Down the Rabbit Hole help Diana Stanley put cards into her basement?
