I love the little extra rooms for each of the kids tucked away in the wasted attic space. Lately I have actually been thinking about doing something similar in our home and converting a portion of our attic into a small extra hangout type of space for the kids. I just need to do some research to figure out what it would take to make this work.

You guys have done some very nice house tours, you’re very descriptive on your videos, and those secret rooms are something else! You always make my day whenever you post something on RUclips! Dan, you need what they call & use in tiny homes & ships. It's called a ship ladder. You will love them. They are so comfortable to walk up & down on. For the Ladders you could have used the ones whose steps kind of rotates. So when they are in "CLOSED" position, they look exactly like the ones in Lincoln and Claire's rooms, but we you put them in "OPEN" position the steps rotate 90 degrees and becomes like a normal ladder.
Monetarily, I hope they (and you) realize how blessed you are compared to many. It’s a great privilege and responsibility with all you have been provided with.
You should have set up the ladders in the girls closet as shallow shelves for sweaters, shoes or smaller stuff. The shelves can have a more narrow width without raising any questions about purpose. A half round dowel edge trim helps keep items, especially shoes, from sliding off the shelf. The trim also serves as the toe hold when using the shelves as a ladder, some “L” shaped low walls at the top of the hatches will make it more safe and provide a seat allowing you to swing your legs to stand from seated entering the room. If you put a handhold on the wall to the edge of the hole, it will apply more security when accessing the ladder after swinging the legs back through the hole. There are escape hatches you can get added to the roof. I’m excited for your eventual grandbabies, if you still have that house! My husband and I have started working on plans to create a hidden path in the woods behind our house. I can’t wait to create discoveries for him to find on our adventures. All the fairy homes and frog villas he reads about in his books.
I had a job inspecting houses yearly, went into one that had one that reminded me of Harry Potter.... it had this tiny door under the stairs in the basement, designed for their young son, and on the other side it was relatively small (yet my big butt would've been comfortable hanging out in it) but they had painted one of the walls with that chalkboard paint and was decorated very cutely, I loved it. I've even seen secret passages that use those plastic playground slides from the main floor to the basement, it was awesome.
All those rooms are really cool but the network room is definitely my favorite with all that tech. I though I had a lot of tech with 1 network rack filled with stuff and you have 3!

I think the secret rooms are a great addition to the house since that space wasn't being used anyway. The only thing I don't like is the tight space getting into some of them, but I assume that couldn't be helped, plus it seems fine for kids. For the ladders, a "pull down" ladder might be better. They have pull down ladders for attics and I think those might work better for some of those secret rooms. They would feel more like a real ladder, and be easier to climb. Your openings on some might be too tight for a pull down ladder though, so if that is not an option for you, I would at least add rubber cushions around each step of your existing ladders so they aren't so sharp, slippery, and hard to climb as you had mentioned. Maybe white colored rubber to match the color of the ladders.
So cool with hidden rooms, in Sweden it is quite common that if you have a loft, you have a retractable staircase/ladder. Then you get wider steps that are more comfortable to walk on and it becomes safer. The ladder I am talking about should slide on the floor not be ladder that you can fold.
I noticed in the corner of Lincoln’s room there is a panel box with something, and in the area near where you enter Londons room there is also a panel box I was curious about what those are for. They looked like the covers that they would use for plumbing, but I saw wires going through.
Pretty neat. 👍 I don't think all that much can be done about the ladders due to space constraints, but you might be able to install a platform lift there - one you either pull up yourself whilst standing on it, or possibly something electrical. It might also double as a cover for the ceiling hole, making those thing even more "secret". Just be careful to not create a squeezing hazard with moving parts there. The two simplest versions I could think of for a lift like that, either use two guided bars at least one of which a threaded linear actuator, or two / a wide toothed belt driven by steppers with the platform hanging clipped in on one side of something like a vertical slide. Aside from that ... a pull up seat ?
So on the stair front for the variours rooms. Have you considered folding stairs. Similar design to what you have now but make all the slats taller, put hooks on them and then a bar and hook just thing metal bar, that when you unhook it swings the things down and when you lift and hook in place lifts them up. Ideal to hold jewlery, watches, etc... and a good way to make the steps a bit deeper to stop the pain on feet.
Lincoln's secret room has windows but not London's and Claire's. The ladder are difficult to step through unless the bars are cylindrical. They're fancy. And the children are getting too old to go there.

l would take some of the cues from tiny house builds, an have draws that pull out an u can step on them an are the steps themselves to climb up into the secret rooms, then lift up the lids on the steps an u have extra storage, lol
