Everywhere you go in Guyana one sees this poverty and it not leaving Guyana. Lord, I beg you to to lift my country up and out of poverty and let her prosper.
Where you see poverty there, even through the eyes of a jackass only a asshole would make such comments, look at Haiti and Africa then compare, poverty was when the Bynoe was exploiting his own people there.
@@derekplummer8970, you don't know anything about Linden so shut your mouth. Linden was a beautiful, clean, prosperous town with no blackouts or water shortage. In fact, Li den had the highest quality tap water in Guyana. Boy look, just hush! Both Africa and Haiti are more beautiful than Guyana. And yes, there is poverty but their cities and towns are clean and well-maintained.
my town looks like an open air garbage dump and the citizen's living in this sub-standard town most of them living there are not the original people like my self so they don't how beautiful the town was where all those vehicles are parked in front of that blue zink building was a beautiful square called Cuffy square it had a granite monument in the middle it is not visible any longer that's how far that town has detoriated from the early 70 's and 80's so sad
Yes Cuffy square was always well kept lawn and walkways in design of traditional 🇬🇾. kite spines. They had tomb of the unknown soldier in the middle protected by a guard. They moved that monument to the middle of the roundabout in front of Linden Library. I went searching for it because military influence in my family. They need to upkeep the area around the monument as it was bushy at the time I visited. I doubt they even have the ceremony on Rememberance Day (Memorial Day) AKA Poppy Day
Left in 1969 while the name was still Mackenzie and Demba took care of everything. I must say that I don’t recognize this city anymore. I’m hoping that there will be some upgrades with Guyana’s new found oil.
Very sad to see Linden is still not being uplifted by the government, so much was done to provide an image for tourism in Georgetown, this is a for a downside for the Guyana government. Linden was a booming place and has many opportunities to develop this place. U was born in Linden and my hometown and still have happy memories going to school and sharing laughter with my friends and to be honest, more times than none, laughter and a joke is shared amoungst our guyanese regardless how little we have. Isn't anyone in Linden writing to government to levele up Linden???
@@SantiagoGeffen yea I am born guyanese but I grew up in Saint Vincent and the grenadines so yk it’s more of my home in Saint Vincent but yk like everywhere in the world needs to be fixed but overall Guyana is a place of good and bad yk nowhere perfect
@@dwanelandry7550 wow amazing! You live in a paradise, I bet it must be so beautiful there. I'm from Argentina but currently living in Malta. Even though Argentina and Guyana are both in South America we never hear any news from your country, it's like a mystery and that's what makes me very curious about it.
Only certain places in GY will look up to date . If you are not affiliated to the party that’s in power, nothing is done to improve. All that speech but one Guyana is waste talk . Don’t worry the Chinese or the Indians will come to take over . They will sell Linden soon . I hope you all have transport for your land .
Minha vontade é conhecer Guiana e suriname.. sou de Belém Brasil🇧🇷
Você mora perto da Guiana. Acho que a única passagem de fronteira entre a Guiana e o Brasil é no Bonfim - RR

Unfortunately the demand for bauxite also deteriorated. People had to find other ways to sustain an income.
Well said. I took a white American friend to Linden in the 1980s and he loved it.
This is so sad to see. My hometown. Left there in 80s went back 1984 but never returned. I'll visit one day again soon
