Mr. D'Auria was the Bozo I grew up with in the mid-to-late '80s. My mom bought some cheap buckets and little prizes and we played the Grand Prize Game at my 8th or 9th birthday party.

I was a very young kid at the time, but I can remember when they changed Bozos. Joey is the one I grew up with the most. Such a legend in Chicago. The city should honor him some way.

Joey D'Auria's Bozo definitely was the best! I grew up watching him as Bozo in Cleveland Ohio in the mid to late 90s and it sucks that we can't watch any of his episodes anywhere, we need to get them put on RUclips for everyone to watch!

I grew up with Bozo here in Chicago! I remember Bob Bell as a child, (had friends on the show in the audience!) but continued watching Joey as Bozo as an adult! When I was away in the army, I watched Bozo on WGN when I missed home. I miss those days, what nostalgia. Todd, where does life go?

That’s the golden question! I have a couple of recordings from the show and they are from ‘93 and I’m like…this doesn’t seem like 30 years ago. Time is an illusion.

From Pinto Colvig to Larry Harmon to Bob Bell and any & everyone in-between who portrayed Bozo the Clown, I respect what they brought to the table as "The World's Most Famous Clown" and for their dedication to entertaining children & families, but being born in 1985, Joey D'Auria is the Bozo I knew & watched growing up. So thank you for this excellent & insightful interview with Joey, Todd! Now with David Arquette having bought the rights to Bozo from the Larry Harmon estate, it's really nice to hear that he's given Joey permission to go to events & do autograph signings as Bozo when Larry Harmon never did (I wonder why?). I've been feeling kinda nostalgic about Bozo lately and so have been reading about the character's history and watching Bozo-related videos here on RUclips & such, which is how I came upon this video. I even recently bought the CD "Get Down with the Clown" by Bozo & Pals from 2003 with Larry Harmon as Bozo along with guests such as William Shatner, Tony Danza & Joe Bonamassa among others. It's listed as children's music and I'm 37 years old (I'll be 38 in a lil over 2 weeks) with no children (yet), so I'm not entirely sure what drove me to actually buy it, but I guess that's what nostalgia will do to you sometimes, lol. 🤡

Childhood imagination is gone. It went into video games. Bozo
will work great there. There is always a place for Bozo, but it has
to work with a generation, who wants it NOW! They want VR Bozo
or video game Bozo. The show won't work anymore. Sad....
