    Cut off the bottom - poke holes around your new selvage edge and then crochet a border on the bottom! That material won't fray so you don't need to do anything - it will roll and look fine - but wouldn't a crochet edge at the bottom be the cutest upcycle?

    • @CatFromFL
      @CatFromFL Год назад

      Definitely cut then poke holes and crochet a band or two or three of various granny squares at the hem. It would rock.

    I tend to use the word "intentions" for the purpose of your "goal" section. For me, it's the topic/task/mindset that I feel most motivated to focus on and want to keep at top of mind.

  • @maggiekeller1812
    @maggiekeller1812 Год назад +12

    I would totally cut the hem! It will roll a little, but it’s a cute style! If it were mine, I would also cut the neck to be more of a boat neck and it would make the bottom hem look more intentional ❤ it’s so cute!!!

    You can definitely cut the sweatshirt. And if you don't like the unfinished edge, you can reattach the band to the shorter version.

    I love your podcast. I have knit for 64 years (l was taught by my English my grandmother at age 6-7)on straight needles. I knit English& Continental, cab flick but not fast, can cottage knit and Norwegian purl but honestly love to revert to my comfy childhood throwing. I suggest that you take photos on your phone of each yarn purchase and the ball band details with colorway and amount and price and where you purchased it.- yes having it in ravelry is good but having❤ it on your phone at all times has benefits. Including what you planned to use it for is good information too. Make an album for this and include year. Mine is now from 2009 and its fabulous to have all that data. Keep it updated weekly or monthly whichever your life’s time limitations allow.

    Maybe an option for your “goals” section could be “Growth” or “Growth Areas” since it seems like your real “goal” is growth over the year? It’s a term we use a lot at work that feels softer than Improvements, Goals, etc. Loving your thoughts on the New Year!

I am also planning to start the lace and fade boxy very soon when I finish a WIP, but when reading through the pattern, the wrap and turn is a little intimidating. I ❤ your sweatshirt! You could cut it with pinking shears or fold in and hem it and add a granny stitch edging. The Edgit crochet hook is perfect for the starting row. I would start with a blanket stitch in a mercerized cotton or similar (less stretchy) and then add the granny row(s) in whatever color/amount you desire. A simple shell stitch edging or picot stitch edging would also be nice.

    I enjoy watching your videos. I love your crochet blanket. I have 3 fingering weight advents, mini’s and other fingering weight scraps to make a queens size blanket; but I’m really struggling with organizing the colors in a particular order or choosing random mini’s as I go. Would you mind talking more about the blanket-how you choose the next color, are they all mini’s, how many chains did you “cast-on”, any idea how many grams/yards in two rows. It is a very large project and expensive. I’m feeling stuck with the decisions and choices and wanting it to be a blanket that I will love. #question 😂 Thank you!

    #question How do you find time to reaaaad with all the knitting that you do! When do you normally read? At night? In the morning? During lunch. I'm curious to know.

    Q 1 : Yes cut the shirt shorter. But keep the cut off part. You may find that you want the ribbed part sewn back on. Love the top tho!!

      Here's an idea.....last year you worked at getting your stash down. This year you should work at using your left overs!! Some of them you can use in your Granny stripe blanket and get to finish it even sooner!! How many projects can you make using your leftovers!!? Just another fun way to use them up. Then you can always be working on gifts for this coming Christmas!! No need to leave it until the last minute. Happy New Year!

    #question (s) Are you on Goodreads? What formats do you read (ebook, audio, paper), and which format do you prefer? And what’s your number one favorite book of all time? (Yeah, it’s not knitting… but I’m a librarian 😊)

    #question I just started a crochet granny stripe blanket and have never crocheted before. I’ve been knitting for 12+ years. Do you have any tips for changing colors and/or weaving in ends? I swear I saw a tutorial somewhere with you showing how you weave in your ends for crochet, but now I can’t find it. Maybe it was in a podcast or blog somewhere instead of it’s own video. If you happen to know what video this was in, that would be awesome! Thanks so much!

    #question : How can I determine my level? I have long years in knitting, but just few projects here and there, when I had a free time. I also have two years of crocheting, but did it intentionally without breaks. So is it a time, a number of projects, or some special skills that categorizes you as a skillful knitter/crochetier?! 🙃

    OMG, you have Toni's merch and it's so cute how you support other creators! I'm not sure about the English term, but I love and often wear this kind of sweaters that are with the length of a mini dress. I suppose this should look like that and would be very pretty, but maybe you're taller because this one isn't long enough. You should definitely cut it, because if you don't like it you will not wear it, which is sad. Don't worry if you damage it, you still have the option to get another one! 😉
    I'm kinda happy that you weren't able to completely escape the spirala, like it happened for Kent's hat, your first try was my favorite look, but this is just a personal preference.

    #question - do you have video of your fish lip heel class? I have had the pattern for 2 years or more but I just can’t get it. I’m a fairly decent sock knitter but that heel is driving me nuts! I will gladly pay for the video but can’t afford formal classes - social security knitter 😂
