First you shoot her while she's down, take a photo of her while she's laying in her own blood, then you load her up with tranquilizers, then you lay on top of her and it looks like your trying to have sex with her, then you blow up grandes, take a random picture of a door, then blow your self up with grenades a few times....then just continue with the game as if nothing happened. This bizarre video as a whole is so random and childish that it can't help but also be funny and entertaining. The reason this video has gotten so popular good sir, is because it's so fucking retarded that it's awesome. I commend you and thank you for the 12 minutes and 35 seconds. Thank you 💚
You can also do this in the original game with gameshark codes however the outcome is different. In the original after you beat Wolf Meryl's body disappears and the game just acts is if you fought wolf after coming back from getting the sniper rifle so all you really do is just save yourself the time of going back to the armory to get the PSG1. You still get captured like normal when you walk up to the door to the communication tower
+Street Guru Potential glitches during the next cutscene, glitches involving Meryl herself, or the game recognizing the cheat and being all 4th wall breaky like it sometimes is, etc. No offense of course, but I really doubt people came here to watch random teabagging and crawling on Meryl.
Not my fault kojima didn't consider cheats on this part, but going on with the game 99.99% chance nothing happens and it works out as normal, though I may go back and see if it's at all possible to beat her with the pistol, I'm sure someone's already done it though if it is

If I remember correctly on PS1 with cheats. If you beat Sniper Wolf and cross the hit barrier without leaving, Meryl's body disappears after a cinematic like it's a separate area when Snake gets close to her. The guards still catch Snake before he reaches the door at the tower.
The funny part about this scene is that this corridor can't be more than 100 meters and the sniper isn't concealed. If realism were to be applied, Snake can easily duel Wolf with a FAMAS. Even with the Mark 23, if his marksmanship was good enough with handguns.
the M9 is a tranquilizer dart weapon. there's no way you can shoot 100 meters with a dart without having to compensate by shooting at the sky. although this is metal gear, so it's possible for Snake

Darts can go further than 100m. 100m is nothing for a pistol if the person can aim. You obviously don't know anything about guns or projectiles, so stop talking.

A bullet makes use of an explosive reaction to shoot a projectile lethally at a target. A dart COULD be fired with a similar reaction, but part of the problem is that you risk the dart becoming a lethal object by having it get fired at a high rate. If the joules are too high the projectile becomes deadly regardless if its bullet, dart, toilet paper etc. darts can be fired realistically at 50 yards with a dart pistol and about 250 yards with a dart rifle

I never understood why in this version they added the Genome soldier trying to rush snake only to get buttended by Sniper Wolf, they were a lot more professional in the original version.

Yeah, they put more Japanese humor in the remake. They made the genome soldier stupid in this one compared to the original. I remember when they were professio al operators and you had to watch your shit, in the remake, the g-soldiers are basically cannon fodder. I don't like what they did with it honestly. Bullet time and all could have been cut and would have made the game better imho.
The Metal Gear Solid 1 Remake is the only one in the “main series” that isn’t directed by Hideo Kojima and it showed. The original is a masterpiece. The sequel is mediocre in comparison despite being on a much more powerful console.

Twin Snakes is not a bad game.. But I'm a HUGE MGS fan, it is one of the few things that have kept me alive over the years of having a painful disease.. Anyway.. Twin Snakes.. I feel like the game loses the magic that the original exhibited. I feel because the tech was better, they were forced to make Snake more "epic" with him doing this CQC that he never even knew until MGS4 (3 technically) and they re-did the voice acting... And I don't like the changes.. I don't know.. I still like it, but MGS1 still is dominant in my opinion, but maybe I'm stupid lol.
I know. I said he didn't really know CQC until 4. When I said technically 3, I was saying that we learned of it in 3, but Solid Snake never used CQC until MGS4, and in Twin Snakes, his using all this fancy CQC that tried making the game more "epic" and in my opinion makes the game lose some of the magic the original exhibited in the first place.
Actually, Twin Snakes was a case where a new director came in and Kojima told him he was allowed to go nuts and make it his own wild vision. It wasn't Kojima or Konami trying to make anything epic because they had better graphics.
It makes more sense for Snake to be using CQC right from the start rather than magically learning it in 4 just because MGS3 made it a thing. But the way Snake fights in TS is not exactly the same cool techincal CQC in later games, it's more of a bunch of fancy matrix bullshit, remember that cutscene when he dodges and jumps on a missile Liquid fires at him on the Hind-D? God that was terrible

That's cool that he actually has something to say if you get her. How much farther can you go if you did it on a console version? Also, the director they got to do the action cutscenes did a really cheesy job, even for a MGS game. _Way_ too over-the-top, got Snake doing that girly leg disarm, and all those stereotypical pauses and effect. I'm glad I never got around to playing this version, in a sense.

+Dead.juice Yes, I had the original MGS, and a friend had this version a couple years later...and I played it...first of all, it was way harder to play on extreme mode, which is fine, I guess. But second, aside from the weapons, more moves, and better graphics, EVERYTHING else they changed made the game WORSE. The voice actor changes, the super cheesy superhero cut scene nonsense. It just made it campy and took away the magic of the original.
People overly hate this game, I just beat it again after going through the time line and honestly it’s a fun game with good controls. The cutscenes are some times ridiculous but people blow it outta proportion. Plus playing through twin snakes into mgs2 is a much easier transition

I dislike the game because of the voice acting (Gray Fox) and the lack of soundtrack on emotional moments... And Snake feels significally more dumb in it.. Like ant man in the second film. A smart guy dumbed down. But gameplay wise its great.
After defeating psycho mantis you can also go all the way back to get the sniper rifle first then proceed to fight the wolf. I just don't know what happens next.

Cuz I know in the original if you try to leave the commanders room after the fight with Mantis through the door you came in Meryl will stop you and tell you you're going the wrong way. I just assumed it's just like that in the GameCube remake but if not I guess I'll have to try it out sometime

Coming from a longtime MGS fan, the PS1 version has always been and still is the best game ever made. Twin Snakes is a spinoff, not a upgraded remake, even if the graphis are "better", but the feeling you get from playing the original one just simply can't be copied.. And now Konami burned it to the ground, sad day man..

I was wondering if I had to do something then watched a walkthrough and wondered why the door cutscene didn't start. When I try though the door it locked and snake get stuck in a loop of changing back and forth asking to change disks,.
There is no Twin Snakes PC. It's a GameCube exclusive. Also, this isn't an "extra part of MGS1. It's the same game running on MGS2's engine with enhanced graphics, redone voice acting, and cutscenes ripped straight out of a japanese action movie.
I love how one of the fondest childhood memories most of us had with this game was just casually trolling Meryl until she knocked us out. I guess since she’s incapacitated shooting her with a nonlethal weapon was the perfect revenge
MGS1 on the PS1 is the greatest MGS of all time and one of the greatest games of all time. It was way ahead of its time and nearly 20 years later it is still a masterpiece.

This remake is fine, but they screwed up some of the dialogue and cutscenes because they wanted to show off their - at the time - good graphics. MGS1 was objectively the most well made game of it's time, this is not an opinion based question like "what color is the best?". The story, with a big factor on HOW they portrayed it, is still hard to beat today.
"Yet again, another subjective statement." Technically it is subjective, but MGS1 was better than Twin Snakes because it was made better by the standards and practices of professional game design. Easy example: First-person aiming means you can lie on the floor and shoot Psycho Mantis while staying safe from his attacks. It also fucks up the Ocelot fight, since you no longer have to deal with the chaos of shooting while running, and managing Snake's auto-aim speed versus your shot window (before Ocelot rounds the corner and you can't hit him). In this case, it's pretty much objectively provable that the boss fight is easier specifically because they added in a new gameplay mechanic and the boss fight, which is supposed to test your mastery of specific mechanics, doesn't account for it and is broken by it. MGS1 was made as a whole product. All the parts fit together because they were made together. MGS:TS was a mix of MGS1 and MGS2, and in places that mix was clumsy because the pieces were from different puzzles.

I always pirate games for my PC. Because where I come from, it will take my months earning just for me to buy those games. N we don't have Gamestop stores to buy any original games. I know at least FF7, Resident Evil, Onimusha had PC releases, probably not the best versions of those games, nor widely known, but PC did have some of those big games back in the day, but by and large yes consoles did have most of the major games, though PC naturally had RTS games like Warcraft, Starcraft, WoW, Half Life, DOOM,Quake, SIMS, ect.

We learn for the first time Game is the best entertainment which u can trully connect with. I remember how awesome m terrifying Silent hills frilly was, how scary Resident evil made me. I love Metal Gear but I hate this part of the game because it doesn't tell you what happens to Meryl. She either dies or lives based on the torture. Plus its annoying having to back track

It’s probably the emulator. If your talking about Sniper Wolf then that’s because the game is being played on an easier difficulty, the higher the difficulty the faster she runs.
Would have made for an interesting fork in the plot, sort of like how in the torture sequence, you decide the end, only this is halfway into the game. Rescue Meryl before Wolf could kidnap her, and get a very different ending. Couldn't mess with the plot anymore than the Otacon ending could.
Cause the ending with Otacon isn´t canon. The funny thing about the MGS´s endings is that everyone knew that the real ending of the game was the one with Meryl alive 10 years later with the release of MGS4. Until that moment we thought that she was dead because she didn´t appear in MGS2 and only Otacon appears.

These are all bad arguments. None of them take into account that a video game boss exists specifically inside the rules of the video game. They're also kind of dumb, I mean, "he can hit you from a load screen away" wouldn't even apply because she's in an urban environment where you being in a different area means there are thick walls and metal doors between you and her. Replenishing stamina, what the fuck? The original MGS1 didn't have stamina bars or tranq weapons, so she has unlimited stamina. The whole thing is dumb. You want to compare them, compare how each one emphasized the core play mechanics of their respective games. Jesus.

Sniper wolf running so slow on here i dont remember her moving that slow when i had to fight her back in the day i could barley keep up with her.

@@chinchy111 Her speed in Twin Snakes depends on the difficulty. If you play on the easier difficulties then she’ll move slowly but it you bump it up a difficulty the speed changes.

Also, the director they got to do the action cutscenes did a really cheesy job, even for a MGS game. _Way_ too over-the-top, got Snake doing that girly leg disarm, and all those stereotypical pauses and effect. I'm glad I never got around to playing this version, in a sense.

+Dead.juice Yes, I had the original MGS, and a friend had this version a couple years later...and I played it...first of all, it was way harder to play on extreme mode, which is fine, I guess. But second, aside from the weapons, more moves, and better graphics, EVERYTHING else they changed made the game WORSE. The voice actor changes, the super cheesy superhero cut scene nonsense. It just made it campy and took away the magic of the original.

People overly hate this game, I just beat it again after going through the time line and honestly it’s a fun game with good controls. The cutscenes are some times ridiculous but people blow it outta proportion. Plus playing through twin snakes into mgs2 is a much easier transition

@@chriskeepit100 and because the soundtrack,difficulty and the voice acting got a significant downgrade, + as much as mgs2 is my favourite mgs game, the dogtag system was garbage, collecting almost every dogtag on all levels just to get infinite ammo and stealth...It is not a terrible remake, but it only changed things that shouldve been left unchanged and didnt change stuff that shouldve been changed.
I dislike the game because of the voice acting (Gray Fox) and the lack of soundtrack on emotional moments... And Snake feels significally more dumb in it.. Like ant man in the second film. A smart guy dumbed down.
But gameplay wise its great.

Cuz I know in the original if you try to leave the commanders room after the fight with Mantis through the door you came in Meryl will stop you and tell you you're going the wrong way. I just assumed it's just like that in the GameCube remake but if not I guess I'll have to try it out sometime

Coming from a longtime MGS fan, the PS1 version has always been and still is the best game ever made.
Twin Snakes is a spinoff, not a upgraded remake, even if the graphis are "better", but the feeling you get from playing the original one just simply can't be copied.. And now Konami burned it to the ground, sad day man..

There is no Twin Snakes PC. It's a GameCube exclusive. Also, this isn't an "extra part of MGS1. It's the same game running on MGS2's engine with enhanced graphics, redone voice acting, and cutscenes ripped straight out of a japanese action movie.

MGS1 on the PS1 is the greatest MGS of all time and one of the greatest games of all time. It was way ahead of its time and nearly 20 years later it is still a masterpiece.

This remake is fine, but they screwed up some of the dialogue and cutscenes because they wanted to show off their - at the time - good graphics.
MGS1 was objectively the most well made game of it's time, this is not an opinion based question like "what color is the best?". The story, with a big factor on HOW they portrayed it, is still hard to beat today.

Technically it is subjective, but MGS1 was better than Twin Snakes because it was made better by the standards and practices of professional game design. Easy example: First-person aiming means you can lie on the floor and shoot Psycho Mantis while staying safe from his attacks. It also fucks up the Ocelot fight, since you no longer have to deal with the chaos of shooting while running, and managing Snake's auto-aim speed versus your shot window (before Ocelot rounds the corner and you can't hit him). In this case, it's pretty much objectively provable that the boss fight is easier specifically because they added in a new gameplay mechanic and the boss fight, which is supposed to test your mastery of specific mechanics, doesn't account for it and is broken by it.
MGS1 was made as a whole product. All the parts fit together because they were made together. MGS:TS was a mix of MGS1 and MGS2, and in places that mix was clumsy because the pieces were from different puzzles.
PC Master Race will never know what a franchise it really was. i feel sorry for them.
We can emulate everything but MGS4 at higher detail than the consoles had, luckily the PS3 emulator has been moving at a steady pace.
R u kidding me, when all this amazing game release. We never had this emulators. It took almost 6 years + to play those games on my PC. Because those days I was a huge duche. I always pirate games for my PC. Because where I come from, it will take my months earning just for me to buy those games. N we don't have Gamestop stores to buy any original games. We rely on luggage party for any games. We have to pay sometime double the amount just to play those games original.
Yup if u use emulators then its piracy. I don't give any incentive to the game developers. If u don't have money or poor just like o was back then. Then pirate the shut out of every games if u can. That what everyone will say. Even some developer wount mind if they knew how hard for us to buy original games.
Back to the main point. When all this amazing game release n change gaming industry forever. PC gamer missed out on every game like this. ZELDA to Resident Evil, MGS, Silent Hill, Onimusha, Fatal Frame, Kuon,Shadow of Colossus etc change gaming forever.
I know at least FF7, Resident Evil, Onimusha had PC releases, probably not the best versions of those games, nor widely known, but PC did have some of those big games back in the day, but by and large yes consoles did have most of the major games, though PC naturally had RTS games like Warcraft, Starcraft, WoW, Half Life, DOOM,Quake, SIMS, ect.
Street Guru remember those amazing games PC released those days. All those RTS games ..
Half life, Doom, Quake, Commandos, Warcraft, Age of empires, SIM City etc.. I love PC gaming for that.
But I Love console gaming more. How they change gaming forever. MGS was a big eye opener for me n every one. We learn for the first time that a game can't be just a game. They can be more. We learn for the first time Game is the best entertainment which u can trully connect with.
I remember how awesome m terrifying Silent hills frilly was, how scary Resident evil made me. Those game give us what PC gaming cant.

Very unlikely that anything changes as the meryl flag/variable probably isn't affected by what happens in this area as she'd get taken away no matter what.

I'm pretty sure in the original version she zips from place to place and it makes the game a LOT harder.. especially as in the original, Snake had his "Jazz hands" sniper scope swaying everywhere

It’s probably the emulator. If your talking about Sniper Wolf then that’s because the game is being played on an easier difficulty, the higher the difficulty the faster she runs.

Would have made for an interesting fork in the plot, sort of like how in the torture sequence, you decide the end, only this is halfway into the game.
Rescue Meryl before Wolf could kidnap her, and get a very different ending.
Couldn't mess with the plot anymore than the Otacon ending could.

The funny thing about the MGS´s endings is that everyone knew that the real ending of the game was the one with Meryl alive 10 years later with the release of MGS4.
Until that moment we thought that she was dead because she didn´t appear in MGS2 and only Otacon appears.
