I had some issues with this fight and video. The game would crash the moment I would defend in the Mech fight, so I had to lower the game to easy to survive and make the fight doable. This would also mean I had to do the Ishmelga of the End Boss Fight on easy ( since I can't save and change difficulty in between the fights ) My apologies for the awkward gameplay. timestamps 00:00 Fighting and entering Reverse Babel 20:39 Inside the Reverse Babel, split up into two teams 39:26 Confronting Ishmelga Rean 57:01 Ishmelga Rean Boss Fight 01:05:06 Zoa Gilstein Mech Boss Fight 01:32:30 Rean talks with Rean 01:39:48 Ishmelga of the End Boss Fight 01:49:12 The end of Ishmelga of the End 01:57:00 Rufus' sacrifice 02:15:36 Rean and Crow check their mechs for logs of Valimar and Ordine 02:20:11 Rufus in the hospital 02:29:15 Credits 02:30:28 Randy asking Mireille for marriage 02:30:54 Credits 02:36:12 Scott Tijerina and Billy Kametz tribute 02:36:22 Credits 02:37:00 Kuro no Kiseki teaser
I suggest replaying this fight on a higher difficulty (Hard or Nightmare) if you can get past the technical issues in the future. I was actually expecting to be let down, like when Rutger and Lianne were easily folded like a wet blanket in CS4. This fight is the best since Azure, (in my opinion) and nothing in the Cold Steel saga comes close without mods. I couldn't beat him on Abyss (party level 150), and it took me MANY re-tries on Nightmare. I will not be trying it on Abyss +100 without a lv 200 or even perhaps a max party (250). I actually found it to be harder than both the Arianrhod (Azure) and Cassius fights (Sky 3rd). Not quite as hard as convincing Sigmund Orlando to flee the IBC in 5 minutes or less, and for that I'm grateful. They should have called Rean/Great One - The Divine Blade of Cold Steel.
Rufus becoming like a father figure to Lapis (Swin and Nadia maybe since he helped them resolve their past trauma with Garden) is quite the 180 from how he was in 3 and 4.
@@MatsuSenpaii I liked the game a lot. But that is a shame that we dont witness the gradual change of Rufus mind ingame. Here, most of his evolution occured offgame between CS4 and Reverie....
@@philippes.9571I humbly disagree, he was the same character as what we saw in cold steel 4 except for a few key moments he just happened to share rean, lloyd and co’s goal this time. He only fully changed at the end after multiple moments of development.
@@gamerarchives5874 I at least know who Billy was. He was one of the kindest voice actors around. He starred in a lot of roles including Josuke Higashgata and Ferdinand von Aegir. Reverie actually might be peak, It turned rean (who was easily my least favorite protagonist) into a genuinely great character despite the limited screen time.
It also made me appreciate Rufus as a character so much more. I found his charcter to be generally underwhelming by the end of CS4, so I'm glad this game exists to give him a bit more depth.
Rean is by far my favorite main protagonist.. But that may be because i started with CS1.. This game was a near perfect epilogue to the CS quadrilogy imo God but that divine knight battle gave me fits.. One of the very few times i had to tweak the difficulty down a notch because i was losing by a literal hair about every attempt..
@@Sgaragarru Long story short, by choosing to ignore Other Rean's warning - Lloyd ended up screwing everyone over (I don't know the full details, but I think it's linked to the Great Collapse being triggered)
God damn did I start brawling like a baby at the valimar part😭🥺 I love the relationship between rean and him was great to see him again they kinda give me a partner/ brothers vibe oh and ordine of course the little tease at the end with him responding to rean I wonder if that means he’ll make a reappearance along side ordine and the other divine knights welp I need to finish kuro 1 I’m on the last chapter then on to kuro 2
You proceed the same way as the Black Zemurian Ore to fuse them in new weapon execept that you must be in the "accessory"(or amor ?) folder and not the "weapon" folder. It allows you to fuse accessories specific to some characters...
@@hongluong3427 I think it works only at the stone in the Reverie Garden at the Unsealing Stone. Here you have a choice : "customize weapon/ARMOR". Go down past the armor list until you see the accessories. Here you can craft ORB specific to some characters from the shards and you can equipe them.

The part where Rean talks to Rean is pure Kino

Same. Reverie made me actually appreciate CS4. I disliked CS4 because of how empty it's ending was. I didn't realise they had more planned
