Enjoyed the Lanning interview. He is pretty sharp and it's obvious he has learned from some of the best in the game. At some point in time i believe he wins a national championship as a head coach. Going to be interesting to see how they do in the new conference but something tells me they will do just fine. New world of college football starts this season.

Josh is such a great interviewer. Did better then everyone at the B1G Media day for Lanning. So pumped to see how Dan continues to evolve and grow this season 🟢🟡
If my Hawkeyes have a good-really good offense I can assure you we will win more than 10 games Pate. We won 10 last year with damn near the same defense/ST returning. The schedule is about as easy as it can get for being in the B1G in 2024.
@@CanikFan From what I've seen he's a great recruiter and has continued the Oregon tradition of losing games late in the season that put them out of National championship contention.
I have to disagree with Josh. I don't remember the tv rating in viewership number, but I do remember hearing that the Colorado @ Oregon game was the highest viewed game last season. That includes the semi-final & National Championship game. So to say this is the first time in a long time, that the eyes of college football will be on Eugene Oregon, which is kinda not true.
That was because of the "spectacle" that Coach Prime and the "over hyped" Colorado team. No one with a above room temperature IQ thought that game had any national significance (like towards the CFP, etc). The Oregon/OSU game this season could very well determine seeding down the road and have a lot to say about whether both teams play again in B1GCG or if the loser winds up out b/c that is their second loss of the season. You have to realize when JP said "all eyes on Eugene" is was not in reference to viewership but rather the significance of the game. Oregon/Colorado last season had no significance in the end, in fact it started the beginning of the end of Colorado's season. Oregon/OSU this season is one of if not the most significant regular season game of 2024.
Part of that waning had something to do with the way defenses started playing Missouri which led to Schrader becoming the SEC leading rusher, but I’m sure you already knew that ;)
Unless we start mandating non-conference schedules between the auto-bid conferences then we have to presume parity of the conferences and give both conference championship participants guaranteed spots in the playoff and they play for seeding. You want to argue for the best teams to be in the playoff regardless of conference? Prove it by playing the other best teams in your non-conference games. Otherwise, we take the two best teams from each conference and let the playoff decide.
Why doesn't anyone remember 2020 LSU defense? They say that 2023 was the worst they've seen an LSU defense look, and it was terrible, but what about 2020? Has that been brushed under the rug?
The Utah hypothetical is the same as when an SEC team plays The Citadel in November. The game doesn't matter and their reserves can throttle the cadets
Theres going to be years that 9-3 VT in that scenario is going to have a reason like very young team, injuries or something like that where they have some losses early and get it together by November and go into the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the country
FSU's portal additions were supplements, but a majority of them were starters. It's misleading to say the portal supplemented their roster when FSU's had 1 recruiting class better than 19th in the past 4 years. 80% of the 2023 offensive production was from portal transfers who have cycled out the program. In the past 2 years, a majority of NFL talent from FSU's rosters have been portal transfers, not high school recruits.

Dillon Gabrielle is a tough kid (man at this point and year in college). as long as he can make short to mid level passes he will get their offense rolling. Lebby's offense lives on the deep ball. not his game at all.
