@carolinasbeauty I’m glad you liked this one-I’m never sure how new artists will go over. These folks were different! In other news, I took down the video, as it went about as I expected. I wasn’t political in it, I just took exception to what seemed to me (and still seems) to involve slamming half the country for views they don’t hold. I don’t like divisiveness, but in this case I felt passionately enough about finding ways of connecting people rather than dividing them, and the context of the song seemed extremely divisive. I took it down, though, as FARM DADDY at least had evidence that I reacted to it, though I held off for a month before posting it. Onward and upward! P.S. Your post was the one that inspired me to take it down since you are a genuine soul.
@@RockN2Country Just a little snippet of my conversation with my son regarding the HF song. I asked him to listen to it and when I told him the name, he said "Uh Oh, this is not good." Evidently (nowadays) the term "Dixie" references the "Old South" and therefor infers a negative connotation of the South and brings up slavery, bigotry and racism. He feels, after listening that the song was not intentionally throwing the South under the bus, but he is very wise about seeing both sides and is familiar with the extremists that exist in todays world. I got the "Woke" speech (as it was originally intended) and I believe becoming aware and educated to the past (so you don't repeat it) is a good thing. Unfortunately, good ideas are taken and used by people who don't have our country's best interests at heart and make it a political ball bat to hit people over the head with. You are a kind soul Mr. Don and I do appreciate your comments and reactions. I'm glad you took it down because this channel is not about divisiveness. It is about connecting, being kind and sharing on many levels through music.
They are without question one of the absolute most underrated bands in modern music today. Shane is a one of a kind, nobody like him. They are musical genius.
Really interesting song. Love the musical arrangement, unique in my book. His voice is really unusual, in a good way. Thanks Jacob for this request, and thanks Don for your insightful reaction!
Love this band...have a quite a few songs of theirs on my playlist. While their sound is unique, I would say that they definitely fall under the umbrella Red Dirt/Texas Country and to be more specific, you can could say they're Austin alt-country. They get plenty of play on my local station, "The Outlaw" out of Wichita Falls and they even did a song on the Yellowstone series. That song is "All I See is You" and I highly recommend it as a follow-up.
They're out of Austin. They're still Texas country to us but they definitely have their own sound. I say it's folkyish but idk what others will say. Definitely long interstate drives songs. Only others that o can think of off the top of my head that have kind of their sound is Prophets and Outlaws, Green River Ordinance, and sometimes Uncle Lucius
Great band. Deep rabbit hole when you have the time
Beautiful song, Jacob! Thank you for this request and Don for your reaction and thoughts.

Thanks for the request Jacob. First time hearing them. I would agree they have modern day folk feel

That's a different sound, it's good
If you’ve got the time, try out “all I see is you” by Shane smith, it’s great!
