It really does feel kind of unnatural to see Sonic in full-on sprint position, yet the fastest he ever gets is a mild jog. Guess he really does believe in fair play.

I've seen the Green Hill Zone mod mod. It looks really good. For the Sonic mod tho, they have his Unleashed drifting animation with his Unleashed/Generations tricks
but they don't. he has no animations except the smash bros running animation and personally that really angers me as an animator. not just that he only has one animation, but also that it looks trash from any angle that isnt the side

@@sandersboys1108 whats anoying me even more is the fact that the guy recording didnt choose a sharpdrifting bike, that would have looked way more believibel than sliding sidways (allthough i dont know if the mod would crash )

Green Hill looks amazing in Mario Kart 8! Actually all the mods are really high quality here. Also I figured out how to get modding setup on Switch so that's pretty cool. ;p
I tried adding in the Sonic items, but it was 5am so I decided to give up after like 2 hours of trying. I'll try to add them next Mario Kart 8 video.

This is a question I asked on your discord a couple of hours ago. How do set up all this ? Do u use an emulator or a modified Strict ?
@@Navi_Silver Emulator but pretty sure it uses a modified strif from the switch, meaning its the same file directiories as switch and could be ran on switch, Ryujinx allows for both. Take this with a grain of salt as I just got it setup yesterday lol. You can put other mods in a romfs folder and the emulator will run it that way as well.
Honestly, I *REALLY* want ti see a fully animated Sonic character in Mario Kart.
Like, drift animation, idle animation, damage animation, even a slipstream and trick animation!
It's a shame Mario Kart doesn't allow that without extensive hardcoding...

I’m actually really a fan of his smash 4 and smash ultimate model if it was used in the games it’d be a really useable model I reckon it would fit into a lot of gameplay styles, it’s got the potential to be a really expressive character model
Now imagine it with Brawl Sonic levels if expressiveness.

I also love Ben Schwartz as Sonic. So yeah, my favorite voices of Sonic the Hedgehog are Roger Craig Smith & Ben Schwartz! They’re the only voices of Sonic I love. Everyone else… meh. They’re no match for Roger & Ben.

Green Hill Zone was not in the Sonic Racing Trilogy though. That was Seaside Hill.

All I could think while watching this was "Is it possible to mod the bike and make it look like Sonic's on Xtreme gear? :o" The stages look awesome though, I wish I could try them out for myself!

The voices are a nice call back too.
The only thing that bugs me is the fact that Sonics legs run in REVERSE while moving forward, almost as if he’s moon running from lap to lap.
Actually, it's not that Sonic is running in reverse, but he is running in place. This animation appears to have been taken from his side taunt in Smash 4, in which Sonic taunts his opponent by running in place.
Sonic R 2 looks sick, can’t wait for release.

I seriously can't with how Sonic's voice got chipmunked after getting hit by lightning :'D Too funny.
It would've been amazing if it was like the animal crossing and legend of zelda tracks, where the coins / sound effects were replaces with bells, rupees, and the sounds from their respective games. The coins would've obviously been ring noises and the item box noises could've been the score calculation noises from the original sonic game (it's the noise after the level ending song where it adds the ring score and time score to the total score)
Edit: HUGE missed opportunity to make the glider just a 3D Tails or knuckles cause... well... thats what they do. Glide / fly

Im assuming someone else has already said this, but it would be amazing to have his drift animation be spinning, and the drift charge to have a sound cue for each pitch of the spin charge up from the sonic games.

I know I'm asking for a lot but the thing that would make this mod PERFECT would be animations of sonic spindashing or hard turning when in a drift, flips and trick animation when jumping off ramps and an animation for holding items. Also for different maps maybe a glide animation

• Add Rings in the place of coins
• Add item boxes from the modern era
• Add Badniks as obstacles
• Add the standard Mario Kart audience plus the animals and Chao

And this is how Sonic SHOULD control. Not the fake physics we've had for literally the past 20 years, no. Proper acceleration, slower turning that you can force into a drift when you're going faster. Basically, like a kart or car.
It feels off to see Sonic without his car IN A RACING GAME
I have no idea how difficult it would be to do, but it would be awesome to see a highly detailed sonic model modded in. Like the speed of the running animation matches the speed your going, one of the boost game drift animations for the drift, turning animations when turning etc.
Was trying to think of how a gliding animation would work and realised could do the slow fall animation from the boost games

It really does surprise me we don't have a proper Sonic R Remake like this. I Can imagine all the running animations on some characters, Amy in her kart and Eggman on his Eggmobile.
