The director actually said in a Tweet that he really liked Doug’s review of this movie 😉 He actually gave Doug some really cool inside information on the film. The director himself said that everyone, literally everyone hated the Whitey voice in testing, and when he told them they’d change Whiteys voice, they literally told him not to change it… I’m serious…. Look up Doug’s real thoughts on this movie and he confirms it. The director also said: “You thought the Whitey voice was annoying, you should’ve seen the takes we didn’t use.” 😂 because the final voice in the movie was actually toned down. So it was originally even more annoying 😂 😂
From what I heard the sponsors that show up in the movie actually didn’t pay to be in it. Sandler literally just put them in because he likes those places.

Also fun fact: two of the product placement mascot spirits , the Victoria Secrets Gown was voiced by Tyra Banks, and the Sharper Image Chair voiced by Tom Kenny. *Next Top Model and SpongeBob themselves are in this movie, yeah*

Great channel. Could you consider creating a tribute to the late Kevin Conroy some day? November 22nd will mark the second anniversary of his passing. I got a voice acting background and his voice's been such an inspiration for me since the Batman the Animated Series. The vocal training was tough, without noticeable results but actors like him are a great impulse to not give up: I was almost Leon in those new RE games :) I recently created a small tribute to him using the classic Batman tAS toys on my channel but I don' really got a reach.
27:01 - 28:00 😲🥹Yes! Yes, to all of that! I honestly wish Mickey Rooney had voiced Whitey instead of Adam Sandler. I bet he'd even sound better singing Whitey's songs than Sandler, especially 'Technical Foul.' In fact, you know who would be great to voice as Whitey's sister, Eleanor? Cloris Leachman. She's worked in Sandler movies like with Spanglish, and her voice sounds just like Sandler's voice for Eleanor, but I can tolerate Frau Blucher much more than this.
Every once in a while, Adam Sandlers usually hits the dart board with movies....rare occasion a bulls eye. I wish for thanos to snap this movie away though.
It’s such a shame because Adam Sandler is such a genuinely nice guy. I hate having to shit on a nice person, but god did he make some really shitty movies.
Idk why but my brother finds this movie funny around Christmas I mean as a kid I didn’t think about it but nowadays yeah it’s the same old tired story from Adam sandler that were so used to I swear my brother has good taste he loves the sam raimi Spider-Man trilogy and he loves the office but i question his decision with this Edit: oh yeah and he loves happy Gilmore and that movie is actually funny
I love the fact that Christopher Macdonald aka Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore was in Iron Giant (the better movie) as opposed to Adam Sandler’s Eight Crazy Nights. Luckily he gave us Anger Management to help us forget about that movie along with Mr. Deeds and for some other Sandler fans Punch Drunk Love.
Well can't believe I'm saying this. This is worse than "The Christmas Tree" and " Rhapsody Street kids believe in Santa". At least with those two I can enjoy how bad they are. But this just makes me uncomfortable, annoyed, or grossed out. And often all three at once.
What a perfect way to summarize it at the end using another of Adam Sandler’s own films, Happy Gilmore, to describe what we had the misfortune of witnessing.
When I would watch the commercials for that movie, I first thought of Carl from "The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius", hearing the short old man. Rob Paulsen would've made for a much more tolerable voice.
Honestly, there are genuinely funny moments and some creative ideas, but they’re overshadowed by the edgier, shoddily put together moments. Like the song “That was long ago” it would’ve been so much better if it was a purely emotional song and the only comedic moment was when Davy realises that his trailer’s on fire. I also like the scene where Davy stole the peanut brittle and the part where he insults the fat kid😂🤣
I actually laughed at the Billy Madison reference you made at the end. That was a lot more funnier than ANYTHING from that horrible Eight Crazy Nights movie.
18:36, 19:26 good god, i considered Man of Steel as a guilty pleasure. at least in that film, there are only 4 or 5 product placements, supes and zod fighting and destroying in 'em, and at least supes doesn't break the 4th wall by advertising the product placements, thus Man of Steel is subtle with 4 or 5 product placements compared to this sandler POS.

The fact that this is the same animation studio that animated The Iron Giant is just mind-boggling.

This movie could have been good. The heartfelt moment of his character losing his parents is completely lost with the low brow trash humor around it.
Starting August with a terrible Christmas movie, now ending August with a terrible Hanukkah movie
This was my realisation that Sandler was a musician. I genuinely love Davys song amd the way Adam performs it, vocally and charecter wise.
