And now you know...actually when I worked for a supermarket back in the 1970s we used to stock Brooks Catsup as well as their other products such as chili beans. In spite of the weather I really like this tour of Collinsville. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Oh my goodness back in the '60s my husband and I rented a little apartment on Clay Street it was above a dry cleaning store. It was a awesome little town You can walk up to Collinsville theater. I believe in the past few years young people have put on productions in that theater. I remembered the library. When I was younger I went to Old Collinsville high School and before that I went to North Junior high School I just wanted the first to attend that school. My sister went to West Junior high and my brother was in Collinsville high School. Sure did bring back memories. My goodness look how wide the roads are that's something. Everybody was laid out at her's funeral home. I don't remember the name of the drug store that was there but they had the soda fountains when I was young. I see the jewelry stores still there. I sure thank you for showing me this also oh I forgot London shoe I believe is there It moved from 89th and state in East St Louis to Collinsville are either they had two stores I don't remember. But I got my shoes fixed there but 10 years ago so I don't know if they're still there. You see I moved to Iowa but I had family in Illinois and whenever I needed my boots fixed I would always take them to Collinsville to get them fixed. Ketchup bottle I'm glad they kept it. When I was young State Park place you didn't want to live there either. Matter of fact We used to call areas around that Shaq town. I had a girlfriend that lived there her name was Marie. They were very very poor. They had a pump in their kitchen and an outhouse for their bathroom. But she was the sweetest person. One day they were just gone Don't know what happened to her. But there's a lot of shady people that lived around there. Even though I'm old now I think about her often. I really thank you for sharing this with me. I'm going to forward it to my sister and brother I think they'll also enjoy it.
When I was real young my mom and dad used to take his kids to falling springs. They had a building there like a dance hall They had a playground area for the kids It was awesome in the summer time we would go there My mom and Dad would dance in the hall with peek through the windows and watch them. We would be out on the playground. That's when they sold buckets of beer. They called it like a beer garden but it was a falling springs. They go there and play baseball also. Wonderful times when I was a kid

Love seeing the little towns you visit BUT my husband grew up in State Park and spent almost 30 yrs on the fire Department! I spent over 20 yrs there, after we were married and raised 4 great boys there. It is very upsetting the way you change to ominous music when driving through there! It is a small unincorporated community with families that have been there for years! It has went down hill the past few years but let’s be honest! You could walk the streets there and no one would bother you! This is the type of things that help to create the division in our country! We have all been through a lot, so why not be kind?!

Regarding the music, I'm going to have fun once in a while when making these videos. As come the entertainment and humor come the sensitive folks that get offended. It goes with the territory. When I was young Cahokia mounds was mostly wooded area It had a small building that had artifacts in it. There was only small pads going up and around the mounds. But I do remember when they cleared it all off and excavated it. But I think I enjoyed it much better when I was young and you had pads going through the woods. I really appreciate you sharing this with us. My father worked at Fairmont race track and Cahokia race track back in the day when they both ran live horse races. It is very exciting when I was young my dad used to take me with him sometime to work. He was a guard at both tracks. Once again thanks for sharing

I've spent half my life in this town. The only things that are interesting here are for archeologists and condiment connoisseurs. If you are neither of those things, you can drive by and not think twice about it. But its still my home.
I want to like your videos, because this is exactly the kind of YT channel I feel like I could do, but I can't get behind them due to your dismissive nature about poor and blighted communities. You sound so judgmental in your videos- especially the ones I've watched about the Greater STL region. Don't judge these communities by stats, bro. Everyone in these communities are just trying to get by and live life. You just feed into the negative narrative that keeps these communities from being able to do better. Also, we don't need a play-by-play about the camera and how annoyed you get over rain droplets. Just plaster a few captions on screen to get to the point, and stop harping on it. I now live in Florida but grew up in IL, Cahokia, Granite City and Collinsville for 30 years. My uncle lived just behind the ketchup bottle.
In all of the times that I have been to Collinsville I never noticed the difference between "catsup" and "ketchup" Yeah, another amazing insight!
