sometimes I look at my years old merino wool Gap jumpers, which i've worn so flippin much, and think if I just cut this label off them I'd feel way easier about using them. They've got me through many cold winters, and I'm so grateful for the people who have made them, but am very much looking forward to the day when they are no longer mend-able and i can replace with an ethical alternative, now that this is something I am more focussed on than quality materials alone. The Gap label stays so that I remember where they are from, why I don't shop at Gap anymore, so they regularly remind me of my priorities when looking for new garments.
Finaly some sense! Changing wardrobe every month is a problem and not only fast fashion in itself. If H&M wants to change their entire stock every month, that no one will buy, I say we let them.
Cheers Sam. The one thing I struggle with is basics I.e Pants and socks. Especially for my children. Buying kids clothes in general is tricky when trying to avoid fast fashion, as they grow out of stuff so quickly,
Oh man, underwear and high wear items are tricky! I think the really important distinction to make there is that you’re buying out of necessity. Kids (and adults!) need pants and socks. And kids grow (and we change body shape) and there’s no escaping it. For all I talk about buying quality over quantity, and putting the work into choosing good fabrics and great businesses, if you need to buy pants I honestly just wouldn’t sweat it!! You’re not participating in ‘fast fashion’ if that makes sense?! Wash them carefully, make them last as long as possible. If you did want to ‘invest’ in some quality undies then I can highly recommend Pico goods and rozenbroek. And the mohair socks from Oaken Shop are a delight! Hope that’s helpful! And thanks for watching :)

You're totally right!!! Fast fashion built the system but we don't have to participate in it!
