My journey with Blackpink began with "How you like that". I used to listen to Disturbed, Metallica, AC / DC and 80s Rock and wonder, "How the hell can I like Blackpink?" I then started to watch reaction videos to "test" my taste. I've seen Americans, Canadians, Europeans, Africans, Australians, blacks, whites, men, women, boys, girls, mothers, fathers, metalheads, rappers, producers, video artists, vocal coaches ... and I've seen them all fall for Blackpink. The production, the girls, the vocals, the raps, the confidence, the charisma, the swag, the lyrics, the MVs, the drops, the hooks ... it pulls you under its spell and won't let you go
so true, i’m not a kpop fan but idk blackpink is just different. I tried listening to other kpop groups but it’s just not my preference but for blackpink their genre is vary like ofc there are some songs that i don’t vibe with but most of the are just litand i can vibe with it.
I listen to almost all types of music genre but never venture to much in kpop. Nothing changed after I discovered blackpink, still not into kpop but hey I got playlist full of bp songs! Hehe

Blackpink doesn’t adhere to genre. Lots of hip hop, edm, trap, some country, some pop, some r&b... on tour they have a live band which has a pretty solid rock feel. They’re all over the place... and I love it!

blackpink is the biggest girl group right now! fans of blackpink are called BLINKS. on their music they lean towards the rap/trap/rock/edm/pop genres but they are very versatile. they are called blackpink becuase they have a “black” savage side with songs like ‘how you like that’ or ‘ddu du ddu du’ and they have a “pink” side which consists of songs like “lovesick girls” and “ice cream ft selena gomez”.

BTW their sets are all hand built, they only used a green screen for a few seconds on whistle. if you want to get to know the girls better, i recommend watching their netflix documentary named “blackpink light up the sky”! welcome to the rabbit hole of kpop, blackpink actually got me into kpop as well. this was a general rundown but once you get to know the girls, you’ll never be able to leave them 🥲🖤💖
next i’d recommend ‘lovesick girls’ or ‘kill this love’ which is their latest single, also their debut album called THE ALBUM which this single is on, is amazing. 4/8 songs on that album are full english. not many groups can kill the girl crush concept as well as blackpink does 👑

Rosé was born in New Zealand but raised in Australia her parents are both Korean though. She's fluent in English. Jennie is from Korea but went to study in New Zealand for 5 years so she's fluent in English. Lisa she's from Thailand and also fluent in English. Jisoo was the only one born and raised in South Korea so she's the one not fluent in English. She can understand everything the other members are saying in English but she gets a little shy when speaking it.

Has anyone mentioned you should watch: Boombya (spelling, Sorry!), Du-du-du, and my favorite Kill this Love? Another one that is good but seems strange for them is Like it's your last. Many good song to get into from this group! They also did a collaboration with Lady Ga Ga, Selena Gomez, and Di Lupa (spelling again, Sorry!) I'm new to them as well but I jumped right in!

Blackpink is a South Korean girl group which debuted in 2016 under YG Entertainment. They are under what you would classify as Kpop I'm sure you have heard of it lol There are 4 members Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, And Rose. they all sing and dance but Lisa and Jennie rap as well. 3/4 speak fluent English so you will notice a lot of their songs include a lot of English. They are AMAZING live i would react to their 2019 coachella sets the videos are on their youtube channel also they do have a documentary on netflix called blackpink: light up the sky if you want to get to know the group better! for your next reaction i would react to their 2018 monster hit "ddu ddu du" or their 2019 hit "kill this love" which is the song that got me into them. much love from a blink!(blackpink fandom name)
