His movie Saagar with Dimple and Kamal Hassan, Chandni with SriDevi r all evergreen in my memory. Bobby movie songs became National Anthem. Rishi and Neethu both r exceptional onscreen pairs who later became his wife. U saw her in this vedio too.

They were really formal with each other, rishi sir described it as one of his greatest regrets that was too late to change. The entire Kapoor family have a lot of alcohol abuse issues (genetic components to it :( ), and that bleeds into their relationship with others. Honestly I feel his daddy issue is the reason for Ranbir's wishy washy personality, and that is what make Ranbir a good actor, the lack of a "strong" personality creates this vacuum , and he is able to meld into any character so effortlessly. He kinda reminds me of water tasteless, essential, and can take the shape of any container it is in.
From one of Simi Garewal's interview rishiji said he does not understand today's generation of being overly free with their parents. He always believed in the decorum of the relationship, where you stand in front of your parents. It was how he was brought up. That was how his relationship was with his own father. Hence he never made the effort to change that. However as you said he was regretful of the distance between them and also Simi urged a him to make changes as he is missing out on many things. He did looked thoughtful but was also reluctant. That was a long discussion and even Neetuji was sad about that as she always was a bridge between him and their children. Personally this info was kind of shock to me. With his kind of cheerful and bubbly onscreen personality I thought he would be kind of similar in real.
