If being an NFL cheerleader is so damn bad, then why are these women falling over themselves trying to be one? They work out all year, training for that special tryout moment. They know the deal, they know the pay. Some of these beautiful women travel from city to city trying out. Why would they do that? I'll tell you why... it IS glamorous. It's a total ego boost, and most of all, they want to do it, regardless of the BS. I have trouble sympathizing with them for something they just don't have to do. Being a cheerleader is not a career move. But they are willing, able, and beautiful to watch. By the way... I like seeing the skimpy outfits. Apparently, the women like wearing them.

Even if the team paid for things like hair and tanning salons, cleaning the uniforms, non uniform clothing required for appearances (like T-shirts, etc), and other things that come out of the cheerleader's pockets it would help. Many turn over a huge portion of the pittance they make to maintain their "camera ready" appearance that is required by the team. They are even required to purchase the individual and group photos they sign and hand out at appearances.

I used to watch the Dallas cheerleaders TV show. One segment they were testing the body fat % of the girls. One came in at 22% (or something close to that). The medical expert commented that it was a bit higher than the other girls but in the perfect spot for young adult women. The Cowboys trainer who was also sitting in said how all that fat showed in the uniform and she needed to get lean and mean. Most of the girls they showed were between 10%-15% body fat.

Allow me not to like the post but to comment it.
    I. So relevant to have a historical approach of the NFL cheerleading. So many good progress has been made.
II. Cheerleading is now becoming a pillar of the Game-day Experience. They're bringing so many good and vibrant energy.
III. THE PROFESSIONALIZATION OF THE CHEERLEADING IN ACTION.
IV. Like many activities, there are always the behind scene activities, behind the scene initiatives. What they're doing is not only about dancing. Their activity requires a very strong self-discipline and self-control. They need to commit to Healthy Life style like the athletes themselves.
Personally, I've focused also on the addiction of super stars. Their workload and all kind of pressures put them at a greater risk of alcohol, sex and drug addictions.
    V. So many conflicts also could exist with their boss......
What matters now is to be there and help everyone improve...

    CHEERLEADER SOLUTION?
Many hours of a Cheerleaders work is Hospital Visits and Charity Fundraising type events whilst the actual Cheerleading is only 3 hours a week on 17 Sunday's a year. Surely their Occupation can be classed as 'Charity Employees' so the NFL Owners can 'write them off' on their Tax Bill as part of their charity donations. That means the Cheerleaders can get paid a decent wage whilst it also looks good for their Bosses.
Yes its a bit cynical to get Corporations to pay up this way but good for the girls and their charities.

I think everyone deserves respect as well as to get paid fairly. From this video I could get that our modern society does not value Beauty as a transcendent meaning, but for profits and exploitation; the physical appearance concept has been devalued to the point of not considering people as human beings, but for some sort of disposable objects. Perhaps, there isn't any institution that regulates cheerleaders' rights, but there are laws that prevent any kind of work exploitation as well as for harassment and emotional damage. At the same time, cheerleaders should stand up for their rights; the fact that they appear beautiful; it doesn't mean that they have to be considered as a piece of ass.

I’m not denying that they are skilled professionals. I just feel that the role they play is obsolete. I don’t know of anyone that feels more inclined to cheer on the team after the dancers have performed. As the video correctly states it’s all about sex appeal, which is unfortunate since plainly they are so much more than eye candy. I think the nfl is to protect the players not the cheerleaders they can care less about them like the commish coming out and saying hes for womens rights be just hypocritical

Not to be a _total_ ass, but I am a firm believer in "You knew what you were walking into" when t is an act of choice. The requirements to be a cheerleader have been well-known for decades. I don't believe in "It needs to change" when no one had to get involved in the first place. Let the business model fail if the owners are not willing to see the problems themselves and fix them, but if you are an outsider, don't demand how other should do things unless you are willing to accept others telling you what changes you should make in your life.
It works both ways. I think that many people who demand change or speak their minds have forgotten that fact.

That’s a pretty insensitive stance ngl. First, people are allowed to vent and complain (especially if something is unfair), something a lot of people just don’t want to accept for some reason. Second, nothing will ever change unless someone advocates for it. It’s much easier to advocate a subject if you have experience or insider knowledge about it

So this video is about an eating disorder or cheerleaders

    • @ranelgallardo7031

Cheerleaders, but they had to put an eating disorder hotline at the end cause there was a trigger warning for eating disorders.
Much like how you see 988 hotline at the end of a suicide related news story at the end of it.

It's quite sad to see behind the story of the cheerleader. coach is rude and condescending, the men who are referees are disgusting. When a new cheerleader has to be inducted. This would not have happened if it was in Denmark. Denmark treats women much better.
Yes, you yourself are out of this. But most of them are just manipulation.
yes USA is the best lol. Sad that they have 2 jobs that require. A normal work and cheerleader life.
It makes me sad, That girls are the only purpose in life.

Bears fan here… They could use getting the cheerleaders back to take our minds off the record… Also..anybody else notice the loser squads (70’s-2000’s) weren’t in very good physical shape… Check out the “muffin tops” on the opening sequence…..
