Thanks for your videos. I didn't like using this new 7 eleven system during the pandemia. Basically it forces you to touch a panel that has been touched by many other people before. However, I was glad that finally plastic bags were not for free.

No, it's not weird at all. Many local customers don't say anything to the cashiers, that's why the staff usually appreciate it that many foreigners do say ありがとうございます before leaving. It's an act of kindness and appreciation that doesn't go unnoticed.

英語と違って日本語はアクセントが重要ではありません。また、地域によってアクセントが違います。例えば東京と大阪では違うアクセントで話しますが、東京の人と大阪の人は全く問題なくコミュニケーションします。もしそれでも標準語の正しいアクセントを学びたければ Dogenさんの動画を参考にすると良いと思います。
ゆうすけ先生、ちょっと質問があります。いろいろなものを払うの後で、日本人の客様は “ありがとうございます” を全然言えません。なぜですか？自分の場合は、コンビニに出る時、ありがとうございますをいつも言えます。日本人の面でその行儀は変ですか？教えてください😊
そういう文化だと思って下さい。良いか悪いかは別にして、日本では 客と店員の間に上下関係があるので お金を払う人が「ありがとうございます」と言うことは少ないです。
それと、特にコンビニでは時間短縮のために支払い作業が Assembly line のように流れています。なので挨拶は省略されます。コンビニやスーパーでは素早くレジ前からいなくなるのがマナーなんです。
でも 「ありがとう」を言ったら変 ということではないです。もし感謝の気持ちを表したいなら軽く頭を下げるだけで問題無いです。(Bowing lightly)
