- Join me as i take you on a Full Tour & Test Drive of this 2019 SCANIA R500. This time around i'll be testing myself to see how economically i can drive this R500 pulling a trailer with 19 tonne.
With 500hp and 2550 Nm from it's 6 cylinder Diesel engine, let's see how it performs!

When the truck is cold fuel consumption goes waaay up. 25min is not enough to get an accurate reading
truck indicated normal operating temp at departure.

I really want to drive a Scania V8 but i drive a 2016 Scania R490 almost a v8😢😢 and my own project truck is a Scania p 93d i am gonna put a Scania V8 engine in it. If it's done (if it's getting done ever) jou can do a video on it. But jou must come to the Netherlands!!

Nice truck, but I really don't like the convex main mirrors, which should be flat IMO.
Flat mirrors in a truck - this must be a joke .
Definitely not. If you want to safely and precisely reverse a truck, the main mirrors need to have flat glass. Of course, the spotter mirrors for changing lanes etc should be convex.

wow. you can actually see the coolant. At my work theres a r580 Gravel truck with 1.6mil kilometers. cant see anything from the coolant tank.

Color me as impressed as the coolant color! Scania actually made a truck for the driver and not for the financial *bleeps* behind a desk. Who knew this would be a thing. I'm disgusted having to drive a shitty o.g R490 now. I'm calling the office declaring my self suicidal from this fact 😁
Great video Stavros. You can come and review my 2004 DAF spacecab manual in rusty yellow with a bowl o soup gearbox. 0-56mph in around 4-5 days :)

Get a little anxious when there is no dipstick. I don't always trust the instruments. I did, however, almost screw it up though. During my daily check of the Scania R560 I was going to drive that day, I checked the oil but it looked like it was completely dry. It was 5 in the morning so it was still dark aside from a couple of street lights lining the company parking area But i decided to fill up with 1 liter of oil. I waited for about 5 minutes and checked again. Nothing. Filled up another half liter of oil and still nothing. So I got my flashlight and looked closer. I had just almost overfilled the oil. The 0W30 oil was so thin ad so light that I couldn't see it on the stick until I shone a flashlight on it. It was now just below the max line. I was used to our Volvo FH540s and the oil they used was much darker.

What's a fairly heavy load..? It has too be fully loaded to give others a in sight how good this new SCANIA really is my friend.
