You have put on another masterclass in tong forging. I will definitely be giving these a try in the near future. You make everything so logical and the step by step is so easy to follow. OH I'M SO COMPLIANT!
I bought some blanks to make bolt-jaw tongs, and they came with video instructions. Which showed to cut the grove with the jaw section in a vice. Ruined 3 sets of blanks before I just gave up; couldn't get the chisel cut deep enough no matter how hot the metal or how hard I hit it.
NOW I see you doing it on the anvil and it's like the heavens opened up and the sun is shining through! No mass behind what your hitting, no effect.
