I’m glad you got some snow. Yes the opening monologue was spot on. The beauty of the forest when it’s covered and the silence, ya that’s what it’s about out there.
Fantastic. Thank you. I also have a Smokehouse hammock tent, Ti stove, sled etc. The next best thing to being out there, is watching someone else who is out there. I always learn something new!
That's not a Smokehouse. I have one. There aren't any reinforcing patches on the pull-outs. I tripped over the corner line and ripped the seam out of my Smokehouse. I repaired it with adhesive-backed nylon fabric. I used it last week, and it was fine. High winds might be an issue with the transverse center seam. Time will tell.
That was a five star resort stay. Great food and accommodations. Another great video and also this is my best time of the year to hammock camp. Headed out tonight. Take care, Al
Beautiful! I wish winters were still like this all winter, instead of just for one or two weeks. I'm with you on not bothering with the hot tent - I have one and it's proven to be more trouble/weight than it's worth. In the Adirondacks we're not allowed to cut anything standing (dead or alive, trunk or branches), so collecting dry firewood in the snow is extra challenging. Plus, the colder it is, the less work I want to do to set up and break camp.
Too bad about the defects in the tent. I hope that it holds up. My silpoly Smokehouse Hammock Hot Tent is not as robust as I had hoped. I tore a corner seam out at the guy line attachment point (no reinforcing patches). The center hoop is sweet, though. All kinds of head and shoulder room. I was out for an overnight snowshoe camp last week. No firewood, no fire (AT shelter area). Same temperature as your night out. Negative 20 Superior Gear Hammock with a 40 degree summer down bag used as a quilt. I used hot water bottles (2), and slept in down jacket, pants, and booties. Slept great! Thanks for the video!
So glad I watched this video! Really enjoyed it. I tried my hand at winter hammock camping in the Catskills a couple of times this year. It’s my new favorite way to backpack camp, for sure. Looking forward to seeing more of your sandwiches in the future!
Nice intro Justin! Gotta love the snow down the back of your neck lol. I have the same shelter. I’m with you, I think I like it. Used my stove in it once last year for cooking. We’ll see how it goes. Great video!
I like that tent , easy quick set up, although from what you're seems like the quality is something to be desired too bad. I hate that getting buried with snow when I try to cut wood LOL. I find when I cut wood I sweat so much I need the stove to dry out before I craw in the sack. That sandwich looked awesome , so did the stew yum. I've heard a lot of good things for those booties. Great Video
This shelter has potential. I have my fingers crossed. I know a few people that have this tent that have not had the issues I have had with mine. I really hope this tent holds up. It is a really cool shelter, lots of pitch options. I want to like it so bad.
I’m not sure what your feelings are about carbon steel cookware but, I completely, 100% , accidentally, tripped over some gsi carbon steel frying pans 8&10 inch on ‘The Zon’ 😉 (they have an “ultra hard nitride surface treatment” that feels just like hard anodized aluminum 🤷♂️). I love them!
Damn I loved this video. You made 15 minutes feel like 3. I appreciate your storytelling, camera angles, and creativity. Kudos. I have had my eye on that same shelter. I'll wait a bit to get your final opinion on it. And that sandwich!!!
That sandwich!!!! It was amazing! I am happy to report no further falling apart of the tent. lol. I really want to like it. I know a few other people that have it, and they have not had the same issues I have had with mine. Fingers crossed that mine is done being a whimpy thing. Thank you for the kind words Butch

The best time of year for camping! I hope you had a great night out in the woods
Winter camping is awesome. Sometimes it's hard to convince anyone to join you.
It is my favorite time of year to camp! Lucky for me, I don't mind going solo

Yeah, I hear ya. Hot tenting is a lot more weight and a lot more work. I do enjoy it, but I think for the most part it is pretty over rated.
Justin, thanks for video, the snow on the trees looks awesome.
The snow on the trees like that is magic! I absolutely love it. Thanks for watching
love the opening with you getting dumped on with snow.
Excellent video. Love those sandwiches. You've got me hooked on them.
ha! Those sandwiches are incredible!
Wow!! Super brave journey!
Thank you. Lots of fun!

Magical conditions! Thank you for watching from across the pond!!! That is exciting.
Those bootees looked really comfortable and cosy - did you wear the bootees in the hammock? Superb content, thanks for uploading! Dave.
I do wear the booties to bed in the winter. They are amazing!
Amazing look at all that snow, nothing but mud here in Virginia
Finally looking like winter over here
@@ItsGoodintheWoods It is getting late for much more here - but Mother Nature has its way of humbling
Really great video, thank you! Just fair warning, I'm using that grilled sandwich idea.
Those sandwiches are amazing!!! Enjoy!

Lots a great grub cheers
Gotta have good food!
Those sandwiches are one of the greatest things on this planet! You’ve sold me on the down booties, going to need them on future adventures. 👍
yep! Those sandwiches are amazing. So are the down booties. Happy adventuring. Thank you for stopping by
Cheers Justin! Where’s the Jim Beam Nalgene flask? Lol
It was a dry night. I don't want to get to predictable lol
Great video! Thanks for taking us along! One question: where’s the bourbon? Cheers!
Thanks for watching. It was a dry night. No booze. I don't want to get to predictable. lol

@4:36 had me dying laughing 🤣👌
🤣 Got me good!
@@ItsGoodintheWoods that'll wake you up 😆 🤣
Cheers🤠
That tent have a summer liner?
🍺🍺
New Brunswick Canada
I don't believe there is a summer inner/liner option for this tent
Would you get the 15 or 30 degree Superior Gear hammock?
If I had it to do over again, I would opt for the 45º
Interesting shelter man, certainly plenty of coverage. Cheers
A really cool shelter. Lots of pitch options
@@ItsGoodintheWoods Yeah Bub
I wish i could go Camping🥹 here in Germany, everything is forbidden 😅
Sorry to hear that, that sounds terrible
@@ItsGoodintheWoods I agree!!!!!
