The only negative thing I would even comment about with this video is I'd like to have seen a view of the camp once set up. It is like a jigsaw puzzle, you see all the pieces but you don't get the big picture until they are all together.
I get that for sure and while I did post a picture in the community section of my camp set up, it’s not the same as showing it all. I’ll see about going over that in a future video. Thank you for watching
good load-out i carry 3 pr of day socks and 3 pr of polyester underwear, change every night, you are right separate sleep wear is important. i keep a UCO candle lantern, an extra candle, and an emergency fire kit hanging from a break-away neck pouch along with a god-awful sounding whistle. i grind my coffee beans and put in separate tea bag blanks just before i leave along with a Thermos mug full of coffee for the 1st morning. i believe camping should be comfortable, roughing it is for youngsters.
Exactly! I got nothing to prove anymore, I’ve slept cold and wet on hard ground enough that now, I want to get good sleep first and foremost haha! Thanks for watching
Very good pack, and any video that has the Grayl purifier gets a thumbs up from me. I'm still building up my load out, have most things covered but not perfect yet. I have the Silky Gomtaro saw but the Bigboy is on my list. I was impressed with the Katana 650 but it would be a bit of an overkill! I'd also like a forest axe, probably Hultafors, but for now I think I'll be ok with a saw and my Condor Heavy Duty kukri for chopping. I got the Thermarest thermalite pad recently, I have a cheap $30 sleeping mat which I want to upgrade to the Thermarest Xtherm. I have a gas canister and stove for cooking but also want to add a wood burning stove. I have the Helikon poncho if I need an emergency tarp but the main shelter is the Robens Starlite tent.

Sweet Loadout bud!! I laughed when you said you had a cozy that you forgot for your Pathfinder canister(s) that you made. I made one too and forgot it my first time out. Hello my outdoors friend, thank you for sharing this very informative video. You did a great job. All the best to you for your good health and safety. 🤗
You Americans like your coffee. In nearly all these bush craft , camping , hiking gear reviews you guys talk about having a coffee press or percolater or some gadget to make a cup of coffee.
Nice load out. You’re right, I’ve got some great ideas from watching load out videos. My gear is based on location, weather & what you are doing. Carry what you will need & a bit more for the strange crap that can happen.
Very nice. I have noticed some back problems recently too, strangely enough, a night or two sleeping on the ground next to my bed seems to help. Sometimes the floor just straightens you out I suppose.
Oh for sure, it’s a worn out mattress and time for a new one. But even then, I’ll still have these issues because of a physical ailment I have, Spondylosis
I like the video. My only concern is that with the location of your med kit, someone suffering a catastrophic bleed would be dead by the time you got to your tourniquet. Just my .02
Thank you for watching! And I agree absolutely which I why I said it’s my PFAK not a trauma/blow out kit, so I would not be using it to treat others. As a WFR I have gone through training and worked jobs that rely on me to treat others but this is for my own use. Texas is also a Good Samaritan state so I can choose to act or not
Very informational. I am new to this and it just so happened that I was prepping my 1st ever pack when I came across your video. Thank you , subscribed now👍
That is awesome, I hope it helped! Like I said in the video, don’t get caught up on brands but just the principles of it. 65-70% of your pack should be towards getting a good nights sleep and being warm, the rest is where your luxuries come in! Thank you subscribing and watching!
That sleeping pad got my attention, I'm looking for something similar. I was thinking of getting the new Klymaloft pad by Klymit but I like the way yours packs down. Aqua Quest rules!

Nice video! I am in the market for a new pad. I used my Exped for eight years until I was on a three day Mountain backpacking trip this past fall and woke on a flat pad to discover the valve was slowly leaking. It was a great pad! I am using my Wife's Big Agnes Insulated for now but am looking at the Exped 7. How do you like the Sea to Summit?
Nice setup brother ! I have been thinking about swapping to a top quilt for a while now, just got to find the right one for me. I am liking that pad as well.
Man the TQ move is something I should’ve done years ago! I can send you some good options man on IG, you won’t be disappointed. And that Sea to Summit pad was awesome those 4 days, one of the most comfortable pads I’ve used
No worries appreciate the comment and you watching! So I have my 10x10 actual tarp and the Arcturus mylar blanket thats 5x7 I use as a ground sheet. Other than that I have no other “tarp.” That T6Zero I showed is 6oz (1 paper towel roll is 12oz) and packs down to nothing, I use it to protect my expensive camera gear from rain/weather to film these videos. It did not cost anything to do it and I wish more people would as it helps you guys out in this over saturated platform Take care!

No I haven’t modified it any, but it is an older model so maybe the newer ones are longer? I actually wish it was longer ha.
Thanks for watching
@@TheBeardedBurton they are probably the same, I was just at work and so couldn't compare. I only have mine for when it gets cold enough that I may want a little more insulation from conduction. It's also only 2 years old so it's likely seen fewer trips.
What is the total weight of what you have pictured. Thanks for posting!
It was sub 40 lbs, can’t remember the exact weight
@@TheBeardedBurton hey thanks for taking the time to reply sir! Weight is a factor with me now. The “UL” in UL Bushcraft stands for Ultralight. I always pickup up ideas from Bushcrafters like yourself and I did with you and it is appreciated! I liked and subscribed. It did not cost anything to do it and I wish more people would as it helps you guys out in this over saturated platform Take care!
Really appreciate that, means the world to have your sub.
What’s tucked in your hat?
My Wazoo Cache Beanie???
You should check out Corporals Corner (Shawn Kelly, pathfinder instructor) if your not already subscribed!! Great channel
Oh yea, I’ve taught a basic class with him here in Texas as an associate instructor for Pathfinder school. Cool guy for sure!
How many liters is your dry bag
It’s the largest one of the 3 pack Aqua Quest sells, I think it’s 30L
What part of Texas are in?
North TX
All that ultralight gear and you’re carrying an axe. If it was me I’d dump it for a knife and just baton.
Haha thanks for watching! But that’s not an axe, it’s a tomahawk and the head removes. It’s
really lightweight.
Most of this gear isn’t “ultralight” by any means hahaha. None of this would be used to hike the AT
Only things a person can "run": guns, drugs, horses, automobiles.
Thanks for watching.
I run gear or knives or anything, it’s a verb I enjoy very much. “Run it through its paces”
@@TheBeardedBurton sorry, I was being a fuddy DUDdy. Something new bothers curmudgeons like me. Cheers. Run It!
Haha all good here!
You’re running your mouth though ain’t ya? Only kidding, had to find another one lol.
Lol
That saw has never been used, all the equipment looks like it hasnt been used
I literally say at 10:09 when I pull the saw out of my pack that it’s a new saw that I was gifted for Christmas. Did you even watch the video Don????
Don: if you’re deaf, turn on closed captions. They’re very helpful.
What a load of crap. Good luck carring all that up a hill like a mule!
Tell me you didn’t watch the video without telling me you didn’t watch the video haha.
I specifically said I’m not hiking for miles and miles with this. 3-5miles max
This whole set up is 43lb and with that pack and frame super easy to carry. Sorry some of us have tree trunks for legs and aren’t sissy’s for weight hahaha
@@TheBeardedBurton 5 miles? That's like 8 km, and then 8 km back. Fuck no i dont break my back with that shit! I go in the forest to relax not to carry all that useless bullshit
43lbs for fall/winter camping is nothing. Sounds like you need to train more and build up your strength ha
@@TheBeardedBurton haaa
Great pack and production. The burp earned you a subscription.
Thanks for the sub hahahaha
