whenever i got burned out from dst i usually just waited a few months to let the updates stack so i got a bunch of new stuff at once whenever i got back to playing
i prefer the slower but more dense updates honestly
Update stacking is where it's at
@@GreedyGabrielomg is that gabby

Frequent small updates can be nice, especially when they add QOL features, but massive quarterly, or even yearly updates are the kind of thing that sparks that urge to boot up the game and start a new playthrough
I love the new roadmap
I think it will make DST more enjoyable for everyone, especialy older players
I want wormwood qol stuff, my fav character :), for example being able to dig stuff from farming plots or tree stumps with ur hands
odd because digging up stumps as wormwood already makes em sad
@@mykenception oof i forgor
Invisible shovel skin.
So the major updates will come at March, June, September and December if they're consistent.
They said first one February 8th with the year of the dragonfly update
First major update will be end of March. Feb 8 is just the lunar new year event.
@@JazzysGames oops my bad
@@JazzysGamessorry but do you have a source for this I can see? They said four updates and year of the dragon is part of an update so I'm confused and can't find anything saying it's not one of the four updates.
Nevermind I reread the roadmap again you're right
Thanks you jazzy for this Video and Im still Waiting for the next year of merm on the moon
I hope the dozens of quality of life changes that were brought to single player on pc get to console. I still don’t have baby water beefalos yet :(
if any dev is somehow watching, i DONT expect this year to conclude the current arc. thats a pressure that doesnt need to be lived up to, i think whatever updates should be made next according to klei will be the right ones
It was a prediction based on the development time of RoT. Obviously Klei should take their time with any updates they do, and this new schedule will certainly allow for that. At the same time I would not look forward to another year of DST with the unresolved gameplay issues that have been present since Taking Root.
Hoping for a really nice warly update
The change will be nice for modders/modded servers as well. I play on a heavily modded MP server and it wasn't uncommon to have to update mods (or stop using mods that weren't updated quickly enough) every few server refreshes because of the fairly consistent update schedule and random hotfixes.
Yeah that’s a good point. We would often run into issues with our modded community server when one mod broke an update and the modder wasn’t super active.
I can’t believe this game is still giving so many updates
Got any insider news on the console QOL mega update for Don't Starve + DLC?
I of course remain the biggest opponent to the skin system, at least in its current implementation creating scarcity and fomo or mindless tedium to grind for the spools needed to make the skins you want.
Klei taking more time to balance and bug fix the updates is a good thing, though I remain skeptical of things to come given the showing we got with this last wave of updates in the from the beyond arc.
I only recently came back around march last year to play a bit as I hadn't tried DST in a while, I was in a don't starve mood and figured I'd give DST a shot again instead of solo.
I was mildly disappointed with most of it and wondered why some of the QoL and even smaller-ish bits of content hadn't been brought back to solo so I didn't have to make my ancient potato pc cry trying to run two servers and the game itself, thankfully possible due to the mod Don't Starve Alone.
I tried again a month ago to see about playing again with a new character only to find the game now was running substantially worse than it was back in March and the mod that helped performance was no longer working.
Hi Jazzy! I love DST but I also wish Kley wouldn't forget Don't Starve (RoG, Shipwrecked and Hamlet) and add some new features this year. Even if it was just some new cosmetics.
I'm curious to know what they will add to the new "hardmode"
Pretty much everything coming out of the rifts!
The wife and I stopped playing after our fav mods crash the games 110% of the time now. Our typical used mod was "dst super walls" and "dst delux fires". Does any mods work for anyone else? I know its usually the mod dev to update them and to fix them but dang.
I'll keep complaining about Twitch drops until I get enough Klei points to get all of the skins without having to idle in a stream I had no interest in being in in the first place.
Ok
Hopefully no more broken and glued together updates like Moon Quay or the initial rift updates.
Jazzy looks like Wilson
This only makes it harder to play. As a solo ds player dst just comes off as a lot. I never know what to shoot for first or what is a major thing coming in the seasons
You’ll get the hang of it! The early-game seasonal dangers are not terribly different than RoG.
@JazzysGames ok, can I ask this. Other than deerclops, bearger, and moosegoose who will come find me for a fight?
Just Bearger, Clops and hounds. Antlion make sinkholes in Summer if you don’t spend Summer feeding it. It’s comparable difficulty to the other seasonal giants.
I hope they make shells easier to get, they fixed that but without actually addressing the issue that shells are painful to obtain.
Maybe slurtles can get a QoL.
Klei yet again chooses the best possible option
Well, me as a RUclipsr and lover of this game want more updates, but me as an ex-programmer know the developers will struggle to update the game as it is becoming harder and harder the more they add, for me what they are doing is a balance between “we have a lot to update and we can’t keep the same frequency” and “yet we will add new skins to get some money and short animations to keep you happy”, I don’t judge them to be honest, they are doing their best and I acknowledge that
I haven't played DST in a year. Mostly because my PC broke...
So
very epic
I hope dont starve has a very great future ahead of him
I love how you always have a positive and thought out take 🍁🍁🍁 I would love to know more about Charlie and what her plans and motives are beyond spawning some lovely roses.... (Which I adore, btw, I was loving the grim aesthetic from Vanilla DS and the gothic-ish roses from A Little Drama way more than the icy blue light that covers the world - feels like the Moon has become the protagonist)
We need more shadowstuff! DST always had the 2 directions of fuelweaver and CC (OFC CC took a while to fully arrive). Shadow is very lacking behind!
i love everything they added stop crying ppl
more animated lore shorts !!!!
big advocate for slow and steady, not like i ever disliked much of what was being introduced anyway. mostly enjoyed everything (other than pirate raids, out of all things in this game that has got to be the biggest stain in the game)
A new DLC to multiplayer would be the THING.
they wont add a DLC, they want all players to be able to play with each other, a DLC would prevent that because some players may not have the DLC and cant join public worlds of those who do
What if the DLC allows you to open a server with it, but anyone can join? @@draggofroot9023
Is it bad i want the game to stop being so fun so i can sell my tesla lamp skin on steam xD
I kinda wandered away from the game last year because of the state which the game currently is. To many updates that do not matter to me bc I don't play these characters, new content that just seem to make things more difficult and less enjoyable and overall unfinished. I much rather less updates more refined than many updates that means little to nothing to me
Try the character reworks! The woodie skill tree is so good and makes a d tier character, A tier at least
@@rodofdiscordthatyouwillnev4810 I don't doubt it's a good work! I'm just particualarly not interested since I already have my favorite play style. So yeahhhh, I'm waiting for the changes to be plot foucosed, not character foucosed
I long since stopped playing the game. The issue I have with is not balanced for a solo player as I am I mean you want me to kill crab king as one player I tried it’s hell just not balanced for a player count. I wish it some kind of boss scaling for the player count instead making some bosses easy for 6 player but impossible for anyone by them self that doesn’t use a stupid amount of resources
When will don't starve mobile get update bro
“Updated the localization files.”
I wish they would implement some mods as updates for consoles. Since I first seen how easy it is to build and fight on pc I literally lost interest in the game.
Geometric placement would be a no brained
Just want GeoPlacement for consoles. 😭😭😭😭
As much as I love this game with over a thousand hours in it, my biggest problem is how every single update is building up to something huge about the story, but it never goes anywhere. The content of the updates is tied so closly to the lore that no matter what they do, it just feels like they are dragging out the game, not knowing when or how to end it. I want a satisfying payoff, you know. Hope they don't turn this into the walking dead of gaming with only continuing forever without a proper ending.
Huh, funny, because recently people were just getting tired of DST.
I just can’t get interested in all the planar stuff. I guess it’s for the try hard types who always complain in the forums that the game is too easy. I want new biomes and mobs like we got with Hamlet and Shipwrecked. I get tired of the Constant
At least they are completely optional even in the lategame!
@@JazzysGames I really appreciate that! I basically don't do any of it because the rewards aren't worth the hassle, and it's great that Klei made it optional. I do wish they were putting that work into other stuff, though.
W video
XD
Less updates= less twich drops= cringe...................... I do not like that
Even if the updates are better?
@@JazzysGames I mean..... I feel like updates are mostly ok right now. The idea that content comes in pieces not whole at once is good. It makes a fun enviroment where you get a bit of new stuff not knowing where is a use for it, u can slowly build up your base and decorate it with updates goodies etc. Every month something new comes out and keeps me motivated to play. Now with 4 updates i think that i will end up playing like 1/3 of the time that i spend in 2023 because the ''new'' stuff will turn ordinary and not exciting ;C. But it is of course my take maybe fewer updates will be good for the game overall. And I really like drops because i watch twich a lot haha.
