It's pretty hard to imagine anything more gorgeous than the body of this man's work. It's not the only beautiful music in this world by any means, but it seems to push the very limits of what the imagination and heart can currently absorb without passing into some kind of trance.
Softly falls the winter snow Whispers to the sleeping world below: “Wintertide awakes,” Morning breaks and sets the earth aglow In gentle tones of warmest white Proclaim the glory of Auroroa’s light Sparrow wings in a clear clean voice A sweet, silver carol for the season born Radiant wings as the skies rejoice Arise and illuminate the morn Softly falls the winter snow Whispers to the sleeping world below: “Glow, like the softly falling snow.”
Aww I remember singing this one time in choir in middle school during a winter concert. We used fake candles and turned them on one by one! It was so beautiful and cool ❄️❤️🎼
Whitacre is truly inspirational. His music moves and stirs the spirit in a way no one else can. He is truly the best choral writer out there! Thank you so much to him for more of his continued gift of beautiful soul healing music to the world.
I played this in my freshman year of high school as an arrangement in marching band in 2018. This was the opener to our show that year. This was also the year we went to the Grand National Championships in Indianapolis. Next year is my senior year, the last marching band season I'll have in high school. I will always remember this part of the show. What a beautiful piece of music. *Edit:* Just finished up the marching band season, I cried many tears after our final run. I'll miss this activity dearly.

Disneyland Paris used this song after every performance of DIsney Dreams of Christmas years ago. Was very special because it fitted perfectly into the mood in the christmas time in the park
Im in concert choir and were gonna sing this song soon and ahh istg when we sung its so good but overall this song ia everything n i always get chills when we sing or i hear this song
I'm sorry but those first 33 seconds seem to not belong in this song. For a moment I am hit with an otherworldy feeling and then the change to the melody seems too abrupt. I love the rest of the song, but I need to find out what melody would fit those beautiful chords.
We're doing this for the winter concert at school and I'm so excited! I have always wanted to do one of Eric's songs!!!
