- This video features the 7175 single turbo Toyota Supra Mk4 vs a Yahama R1 with a 20 shot, a port and polished head, and a power commander making around 190-200rwhp. Ends up being a very close race, the bike said he didn't lose against a single car at tx2k12.

Try watch MotoGP where the most experienced riders on the fastest motorbikes in the world barely move a muscle changing gear.
I think he is using the clutch, which doesn't make much sense on the bike.
WOW! Those turbo Supra's are crazy fast, so props on the R1. I'm too old to ride that fast anymore (I stopped being immortal about 10 years ago, lol).

This is not a nitrous r1 cause 1000hp alone have a hard time beating stock liter bikes

It's an old R1, plus the rider is TRASH. Shifting way to early and letting off when the power band hits

And does a port and polish with a PC make it 170-180 whp? I have an 02-03 r1 and it makes 139 whp. Might have to look into that then

Why don't we all just appreciate a fine piece of automotive engineering when we see it? That car is still impressive.
That bike has nitrous? seriously? No extended swingarm and dumping the clutch like a drag bike but no wheelie? I doubt that's nitrous if he shifted right R1's will lift the wheel standard with no nitrous.
I'm 6'2" 235 lbs and a stock 2012 R1 will lift me leaning forward if I dump the clutch. This video is suspect at best.
A Tuck I agree, the only bike it never lifted on me was a 2008 zx6r, that shit was slow lol but my old 2008 R1 and my current zx10r always lift now lowering the zx10r an 1.5" helped a lot but it still happens
Ik this is a really old comment but I used to have a nitrous capable r6 and in order to actually use the nos you need to connect a smaller tank where the back seat goes and it sticks out of the bike and all I saw on this bike was a gopro, but idk maybe he was able to mount it somewhere else I haven't seen too many nitrous bikes.
He really get's "into" the shifts at the end.
He doesn't even get up half way in rpm's and shifts

Why is everyone saying its an R6. Its a 2000-2004 R1. Note the design of the R1 and the Dual Headlights. R6 have one hbeam and lobeam. The R1 back then are just as fast at the 2009+ R6. Only pushing about 150Hp. Todays R1 180-192 Hp not to mention all the Moto Gp bikes (09-14) would smoke that supra STOCK!.
hey my friend... the new ""generation"" R1 09'' 10'' 11' '12''... in dyno have 152 or 155 hp stock back wheel. R1 03'' stock in dyno have 137-140hp. My R1 03' in dyno have 163hp back wheel with port head, - Compression 12:8:1with flange yamaha racing , power comander, shifter. block off .full acrapovic, AFAM GOLD 520' Chain and modify this facking ram air with KN air filter with "2 graves" pipes inside.. this Hp is very good for me and 173kg R1 03 in different r1 11'' 190kg... ;) powerfull R1 2003.... Respect ;)

I'm a motor builder in Atlanta, 98-03 were the same motor and had 150hp at the crank and around 130 at the wheel stock. You would have to spend 2 time what the bike is worth to get 163 at the wheel.

The fuel is 98 not 85 and you can also get 110 and 120 at some stations, in 04 there were no 1000cc stock bikes that produced 165 rear wheel hp.

Sunoco stations have up to 115 and VP at Road Atlanta and Atlanta motor speedway both have 120+ octane race fuel, you can also buy aviation fuel at a PUMP at just about any airport in America.
Just an fyi....2009 r6's don't have 150 hp.
With that type of riding, I doubt that guy beat anyone at TX2K
A BMW HP4 would be able to beat the supra. Lets be honest an HP4 can beat a Bugatti Veyron to 180 mph or so. And a Bugatti can beat most cars in a 1/4 mile, including some expensive supra's.

the bike is an 02 r1.. in this video it was on a 20 shot. no not alot but something. since then it has been stretched, ans a little more work done to it. hopefully we will get to run the supra again at 2k14!! im not the rider. he is a friend.

This year R1 stock, is down 20-30 horsepower on any new liter bike. Not to mention its clutch is slipping really badly.

Stock bikes are only good for cars upto 750hp, with mild mods like this bike has he can probably take on a 800hp car...this result was expected.

Not very many can touch a super bike , it's clearly the 600cc can't win... 2 . That rider is afraid to pull it all the way through redline it rev out at 16k rpm for an r6 . He has to rev it up higher kick it in lower gear inorder to win obviously this rider is a newbie . If that supra goes against my Duc it's game over even in stock form.
CJ Andrews all you HAVE to do is Google and do some research it's not difficult to find out answer amymore. 2016 zx14R with lowerd streched lock up clutch exhaust and a ECU FLASH ARE RUNNING LOW 8s in 1/4 mile. only 2k in mods and all stock internals no head work no cams no NOTHING but BOLT ON s
It's an old R1. 150 hp or so. By the sounds of it, clutch is slipping. NOS? Maybe, but a slipping clutch won't allow any extra power. Old R1 (2002 or so) had long pointed tail section and pointed headlight/nose section.

The R1 is clearly faster,just the idiot riding it is not letting it reach it's highest RPM's by shifting too early.
Since the car is a purpose built drag car, can we go get Rikard Gustafssons drag bike? we will see how good he does against it he ran 6.3 212mph at santa pod with his old bike, he has now built a new one with a bigger engine
Lets put the fastest drag car and fastest drag bike in a race. Who wins? Cars have beaten bikes in a lot of aspects. Expensive, sure because it is a car. It is bigger than a bike. I hate it when people use price as an argument.
in actual fact, clutchless up shifts on sportbikes are common, can be done at any speed and do not damage the engine providing the throttle is eased at the time of shift.
The 2JZ engine on the supra is one of the most powerful and most reliable toyota engines ever made ... they can last years even with heavy tunes.

this car has pulled s1000's (w/ stock rev limited removed) granny shifting like you saw due to the car being limited by the clutch for a long time. Brian's car is no joke, gets out hard with no drama with the Motec EMS TC doing work along wide, tall sidewall tires to help put it down. spool is also pretty amazing with the 7175

You could find a good Supra for around $20,000 or cheaper, (what I did) and using QUALITY parts and good tuning, you can make a car that puts out 900+hp for $20,000 more or even less, depending on what it has already and what you're looking for. In my book, $40,000 for a car that will make you smile every time you drive it, kill super cars, and last 10+ years without engine problems, is something amazing.

There's no way that this R1 has juice. Geared maybe yes, as much as this guy is shifting, he's running out of gear fast. Probably, -1 front or -1 or 2 in rear. Either way, this is still a poor showing by this rider. If this dude has the money for head work then should have invested in an PC ignition module w/quick shift.
I don't think it's the bike driver fault, it's just that they're already at speed when going, so the turbo spools up instantly and delivers all the power. If they were starting from a stand still the supra would never ever catch up.
It's called power shifting, his body isn't going to be still unless he's grandma cruising down the road on a Sunday.

Why? This race was in a straight line dude. A heavily modded super car is always going to win in that situation. A car is always going to be able to get more power with mods.
The bike comes into play when racing on B roads/country roads (TT for example). That's where the bike can't be matched.

Right, risking other peoples life is coooool. If you ride like a TT race on normal open roads you deserve what's coming to you. And yes, we take it to the track so we don't get interance and can focus on the joy of riding. If you go to the right track days you are still covered by insurace and the risk of ending up dead isn't very high. Maybe you are unaware of this but money won't help you when you are dead. And if you follow the instructions and don't ride over your still you don't crash.

take it up to 14k rpm !!!!! sounds like 11 rpm at most
Have you ever ridden a sports bike? They're the ultimate vehicle. They have a massive power to weight ratio, almost no wind resistance and are massively maneuverable. I've driven a 628hp Subaru and it did nothing for me relative to the feeling I get riding a bike. Besides on the race circuit where it really counts even a stock 1000cc bike will cruise past a big supra.
