I saw Tesseract for the fifth time in Nottingham on this tour and it was absolutely the best gig I've ever been too. And the crowd was way crazier than at this gig, there was a mosh pit for every song including April. I hope I see them again a million times.
I was front row for this, hands down the best live band performance I've ever seen. Have loved these guys for years and was so nice to be able to briefly speak to Dan afterwards. So glad he's back! Can't wait to see you again :)
I just gotta say - you guys rock our world. And while there's plenty of conversation over Tesseract's front man / vocalist history, I'm sure they would agree: Acle, James, Amos and Jay - you guys are fucking incredible. Hope you ALL are feeling the love and appreciation.
Phil Clarke He's 17 years old. I know him. His name is Pete and he suffers from Werner Syndrome which makes him age faster than everyone else. People make that mistake all the time but he's cool with it. Cheers mate!
You know what's beautiful about this mix? It's so easy to forget that it's live. There are some telltale signs that it is which further leaves in awe... But just in general; this really feels like I'm listening to a newer version of One.
If you thought this video was good, wait until you see them live. I've seen them like 4 or 5 times now, and they've gotten better and better each time; and the crowd has gotten more, and more intense. People LOVE Tesseract.
Nick Loper I believe because the sound isn't taken from the output, i don't know how to explain it but the sound is simply recorded into the recording device.
Nick Loper It's certainly because the DVD production isn't finish yet. The first phase in the post-production of a DVD is the video editing. The audio-mixing is the last phase of production before the thing is release. I'm pretty sure that the final version will be waaay better. And sorry for my bad english.
Alex Martellino i have seen that happen before. Dream Theater released an iffy live clip, then they later changed it and re uploaded it. the 2nd upload was the one that was on the dvd.
Comencé a escuchar esta banda hace unos meses atras y quedé asombrado sobre todo con el trabajo que hicieron en "One", Quisiera que en un futuro vengan a argentina pero es muy complicado. Sin dudas unos maestros del Djent!
Props to Tesseract, this is a beautifully recorded performance. Small mistakes in the performance convince me that it's 100% live audio too, which is awesome. It's a bit of a shame that they completely cut the crowd audio out though, makes it seem more like a live-in-studio recording.
I've been waiting a live DVD for so long... It's such a shame to not get the live sound on this. Now please don't get me wrong, I love every single piece of art you have released guys, I really cherich them!! But I hate the sound on live DVD's on these days... For an isolated performance I would prefer Sphere Studios with Acle and Amos on mixing. With that said, I'm still getting a copy of this! just can't avoid it! P.S: PLEASE COME DOWN TO SOUTHAMERICA AND MEET A REAL CROWD!!!
feels weird not hearing anything from the crowd :s but anyway looks so incredible hot in there haha still wish i could have gone but had to sell my tickets :'(
Snare sounded better at the venue. I think. Obviously a different live mix there than afterwards for a dvd release. Not that it sounds necessarily bad. Don't know what kind of snare muffling Jay normally uses, or even if he ever does but had to for this show. But this video intro of Deception was so exciting and when the song kicked in I guess I was expecting a different kind snare blast. No worries. Drum bass sounds really good, though. I reeeally liked being at the show.
Rory O'Neill Yeah, as many "DanWasBetteract" people there are, I personally prefer Ashe. It might be the fact that a lot of people get a nostalgiac kick out of Dan where I basically got into Tesseract because of Altered State. I just prefer Ashe's voice, they're both equally talented if you ask me.
Todd Anderson I dunno...I'm not a big fan of AShe's voice but he sounded better on Altered State than Dan did on One...HOWEVER....Dan is probably embarrassed at that performance because he is absolutely outstanding on the 2 Skyharbor albums and sounds soooo much better than he did on One so The Oddysey and Scala will be really interesting.
Yeah, when I first heard Dan I was like there can be no voice better than his but then I came across Ashe and he just fucking destroyed my eardrums. Ashe in my opinion has more 'feel' as opposed to Dan who is more versatile. That's what I concluded
This video's sick and Dan's probably the best singer on Earth but I don't why with all Tesseract live videos they put out, it's like it hardly even sounds live with all the backing tracks and what sounds like direct to line guitars/bass. Put some audience mics I don't know
There is a couple things to do with a mix. In my opinion: 1) If we take into consideration tone of an instruments - too much bass, bass drum, not many of electric guitar. 2) Equalization - if it is possible, lower 65 Hz of - 3 dB, 93 Hz of - 2 - 2,5 dB. These things are the major elements which I see to correct them Everything it is just suggestion, my personal opinion, with no offence ;)
Acle Kahney Can I ask you why you couldn't mix it yourself? It's kind of strange considering that you're an excellent mixing engineer. Altered State is one of the best sounding album I've listen to.

4:05 the old guy is like, "I'm just really happy to be hanging out with the young people."
Haha
Phil Clarke I'm headbanging next to him and he wasn't moving at all :(
Phil Clarke that's my Dad.
Phil Clarke He's 17 years old. I know him. His name is Pete and he suffers from Werner Syndrome which makes him age faster than everyone else. People make that mistake all the time but he's cool with it. Cheers mate!
JAck Lynch the guy above you says he's his dad, you say he suffers from Werner Syndrome. SOMEONE IS BULLSHITING
Thank you guys! Tesseract is the best band of all time. \o/ Come to Brazil please.
You have a great taste Yara. Also in waiting too.
Yara Bastos
Tamo junto!!!!
Yara Bastos Esperando de pé junto aqui!
Yara Bastos É a gente !!
Please come to brasil
You know what's beautiful about this mix?
It's so easy to forget that it's live. There are some telltale signs that it is which further leaves in awe... But just in general; this really feels like I'm listening to a newer version of One.
10:17 It is physically impossible to remain perfectly still and listen to this part.
If you thought this video was good, wait until you see them live. I've seen them like 4 or 5 times now, and they've gotten better and better each time; and the crowd has gotten more, and more intense. People LOVE Tesseract.
Saw them for the first time on that tour 5 months ago and I still get goosebumps when I remember it!!
So much isolation in the mix, where's the crowd/room sound?!
I mean, I still love it
Nick Loper I believe because the sound isn't taken from the output, i don't know how to explain it but the sound is simply recorded into the recording device.
Nick Loper It's certainly because the DVD production isn't finish yet. The first phase in the post-production of a DVD is the video editing. The audio-mixing is the last phase of production before the thing is release. I'm pretty sure that the final version will be waaay better. And sorry for my bad english.
Martin Fournier I doubt it. Why would they share something and put OFFICIAL VIDEO in the title if this isn't the final version? Let's hope I'm wrong.
Alex Martellino Yeah, wouldn't really make much sense to release this before it was finished.
Alex Martellino i have seen that happen before. Dream Theater released an iffy live clip, then they later changed it and re uploaded it. the 2nd upload was the one that was on the dvd.
I don't know if you understand how much beautiful is this music...
Still just as perfect as it was Nov 4th 2010 at the London Music Hall in London, Ontario w/ Devin Townsend. Unreal
Nice pfp
Ive said it once ill say it again Dan is perfection anything he touches turns to gold instantly
God. These guys have posted so much awesome stuff recently.
I'm totally mindblown.
Looking forward to seeing you in Russia again!
The chills were real , amazing.
This is the band I wish I could have been in.
What they made with the guitars at 10:17 is amazing! loved that little detail
It's just panning lol
Dude, this is reeeally great, in love with the live performance
Soooooooo, my deeeemoooons, yoooooooouur time has coooo-hoooome! Amazing perfomance, even with the unusual lower voice!
Thank you Century Media for these videos ! 💕
As much as i like seeing every member playing, this type of editing is adequate for a 4min music video, not a hour and a half long full concert, imho
I haven't listened to or seen anything t h a t good for years
Superb,mind blowing drummer.
One of the best gigs I've ever been to! Incredible!!
saw myself at the end, life now complete
I hope nascent is on the dvd
saw these guys last week at shepard bush 02 in london they were utterly spellbinding
Amazing....perfect! I wish one day i can go to a concert of u guys. Come to South America please
Like the kick up front in live mix...well done
Excellent production value and sound, good watch - looking forward to the full DVD release
I truly hope I can hear some screamo in the future songs. Dan is briliant doing it. Hope he isnt trying to end it.
Damn! this is the best video i seen yet!
A crazy loud snare drum with special guests Tesseract
This is absolutely incredible!
Amos' stage swag is out of this world
Soooo good! Happy Dan is back in the fold
Holy moly Amos’ growls. Gimme more of that
Goose-fucking-bumps! Can't wait for the new album.
Kick ass performance. Love this band!
My god, what a band...
Props to Tesseract, this is a beautifully recorded performance. Small mistakes in the performance convince me that it's 100% live audio too, which is awesome. It's a bit of a shame that they completely cut the crowd audio out though, makes it seem more like a live-in-studio recording.
I wanna see these guys live so bad
Amos. Too metal for shoes.
haha^^
He went full ballerina the last time I saw them live. 😅
those who hate the way of recording this should know how difficult recordings is.
Awesome, Amos doing the harsh vocals was cool too.
Esta banda es increíble. De lo mejorcito del progresivo hoy en día.
started with my fave track, yes :)!
As always, high class!
it is a pleasure indeed!
I've been waiting a live DVD for so long... It's such a shame to not get the live sound on this.

P.S: PLEASE COME DOWN TO SOUTHAMERICA AND MEET A REAL CROWD!!!
unbelievably goooood
Anexcellent performance.
Shiiiit I can't wait for the live DVD.
amazing!
I still miss Ashe(RockStar) but Dan is such a stud its hard to complain
this band is one of the best of all time with either vocalist.
This is goddamn great!
wow that so very awesome
I love the way Jay turns his eyeballs white while playing
THAT FUCKIN ENDINGGGGGGGGGG OH... OH MY GOD!
Great Work
7:12 I wish they would've done more with Amos's vocals.
Cookie Monster Vocals
geeze those drums around @2:17 damn @Jay Postones
3:53 I need to experience this
Badass!!!!!
6:45 sooo good
Tesseract is rad💙
4:05 This will be me at that age!!
This is seriusly amazing. That snare sound tho :( its louder than anything else
Love it!
Although the mix is way too dry for a live sound, it's still enjoyable :)
Now my life has meaning!
Opeth's live DVDs are in my opinion something that would fit more with Tesseract's music
Gonna rekt my own neck on those breakdowns
believe me, they can play an absolutely much better than you can see on this video. I'm hear it live, swear
jay plays with his eyes closed like a fuckin' boss
I love it!! :3
feels weird not hearing anything from the crowd :s but anyway looks so incredible hot in there haha still wish i could have gone but had to sell my tickets :'(
When are these god's coming to Canada? I NEED TO BE AT A SHOW NOW!
wow
THE IMPOSSIBLE!!!!
These dudes are fucking awesome

Anybody noticed the fist in the audience and then the same gesture of Dan at 10:17 ?
just fuckin' awesome
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
FUCK I HAVE TO SEE THEM LIVE SOMEDAY

That snare
Maybe better than on the album.
Definitely.
god. hairraisingly good
This is awesome, still miss Ashe being in the band though.

Todd Anderson Yeh, I mean, I still appreciate Dan and all, he is a brilliant vocalist, but Ashe I felt was so fitting to the band compared.
Rory O'Neill I would be happy if they switched between the two each album.
Yeah, when I first heard Dan I was like there can be no voice better than his but then I came across Ashe and he just fucking destroyed my eardrums. Ashe in my opinion has more 'feel' as opposed to Dan who is more versatile. That's what I concluded
Come to chile wn!
Esto es perfectoooo!!!
A nice appetizer for the main release! Any news on a Hi-Def release or is DVD the best were gonna get?
This video's sick and Dan's probably the best singer on Earth but I don't why with all Tesseract live videos they put out, it's like it hardly even sounds live with all the backing tracks and what sounds like direct to line guitars/bass. Put some audience mics I don't know
I think that's what they're after though
soul cleaner
10:47 I didn't know Rob Scallon was in the UK! :P Also, great vid! Wish I could have been there :(
There is a couple things to do with a mix. In my opinion:
1) If we take into consideration tone of an instruments - too much bass, bass drum, not many of electric guitar.
2) Equalization - if it is possible, lower 65 Hz of - 3 dB, 93 Hz of - 2 - 2,5 dB.

Everything it is just suggestion, my personal opinion, with no offence ;)
That snare slaps me harder than my uncle
So badass, I'm surprised the government isn't trying to outlaw it! BETTER THAN DRUGS! :p
totally, this is too good for the people. The government should prohibit and monopolize good music^^
I noticed the snare is way too high and Amos' voice is pretty quiet
this mix isn't great. what happened there Acle?
jackpaice Not my mix
Acle Kahney aaaah gotcha
***** I second that
Acle Kahney Can I ask you why you couldn't mix it yourself? It's kind of strange considering that you're an excellent mixing engineer. Altered State is one of the best sounding album I've listen to.
jackpaice I like it.
I think you can best judge it with good speakers and if you don´t watch the video but only listen to the songs :)
