Legion Field in Birmingham, once the home of the XFL's Bolts, the WFL's Americans, the USFL's Stallions, and currently the home field of the UAB Blazers, was the site of the very first SEC Championship football game in 1992.
I have been to hundreds of Alabama football and basketball games and this was by far the absolute coldest game I have ever been to. A close second would have been the Miss St game that same year. At this game I was 11 years old and sat aaround the 15 yard line maybe 3 or 4 rows up, practicallyright in front of Antonio Langham's pick to make it 28-21!
I've only been to 3 games in my lifetime. I was there that day and I can assure you it was COLD! If somebody would have thumped my ear I believe it would have broke off lol.
After the Lassic TD at 6:20, there was a holding penalty AND a personal-foul penalty on Alabama on the ensuing extra point, turning the PAT into a 46-yard kick. Proctor's kick barely cleared the crossbar and was good. It turned out to be a huge kick, because without it Florida would have been up 21-20 late in the game and probably wouldn't have been passing in the situation where Langham made the winning pick-6.
I had to work during the first half of this game so I listened to it on the radio. My job had me mostly outside that day and it was freaking cold! I got to see some of 3rd and all of the 4th quarter in the nice warmth of a friend's house. When Langham scored his TD, we all got up and tore outside into the front yard screaming, "Roll Tide" at the tops of our lungs. It wasn't until we stopped yelling that we became aware that everyone else within earshot was doing the same thing.

Derrick Lassic, great "Red Foxx" TD celebration

8:45 The play that changed college football forever.

Somebody uploading this entire game would be a hero of mine. For the love of Roll Tide make it happen!
I wish I have that. I haven't been able to find it. But if I do. It will be posted here.
Awesome. Just awesome
The Gators aren't the best at anything right now. They got spanked by Louisville in the Sugar Bowl.
this was a rebuilding year for gators in 92
