Maharaja of Amarkot was a Zamindar and to save his Zamindariyat he joined Pakistan ! Like muslim league leaders he too was against Land Reforms and abolition of the Zamindari System !

In 1947 Chittagong hill tracts had 98% buddhists majority and given to East Pakistan (todays Bangladesh) now there is only 40% buddhist remained..... The UN resolution says that Except for INDIAN ARMY, no other army would be in Jammu Kashmir when elections are taking place. If you are really serious about the UN resolution then your army and now even Chinese army have to vacate the entire Jammu Kashmir territories. You wouldn’t do that and avoid voting.

@SaadAli-vw1ym The resolution says that first Pak army has to vacate Kashmir completely before UN conducts a plebiscite with limited Indian Army presence.
And given after 1962 China too has a part of Kashmir, Pak army has to ask China to remove their army now for the plebiscite. Pakistan is not fulfilling the first step and want the 2nd step (Plebiscite) to happen. Now think!

Actually Amarkot was a Hereditary Rajput Jagir. Wasn't a Princely State. It was Under Jaisalmer Once, but In meantime it split out because of some disputes, During the Partition, They were given a proposal to Join Jodhpur State for the sake Of having protection from Going in to Pakistan, But te Ruler Refused because of State's vicinity with Karachi as a major city, Sindhi Language and Identity, which is not more in Indian Side, etc. Eventually the Elections Held, and Even the People in Amarkot Voted to Join Pakistan, as the king Himself Campaigned for Muslim league. Thus Britain Incorporated Entire Sindh with Pakistan. loss is theirs!

Amarkot was not a princely state they didn't have a choice between India and Pakistan.
Point here was that if Pakistan was Happy with a Hindu Majority state in it, then its stand of Muslim-Majority state cannot join India is illogical.
We need to take action and retake umerkot region. The princely state was actually large, it controlled the territory east of thatta and jamshoro and south of Nawabshah and khairpur till the modern day Indian border , as well as a few areas in these districts

I feel like should've gotten Hindu majority parts of Bangladesh as well as Pakistan getting Muslim majority areas of West Bengal. Pakistan should've gotten Junagadh and Rampur.

Stand still agreement and Instrument of Accession were different documents signed on different dates. That is the problem as students in Pakistan are not taught complete things, not even from technical perspective. The news about distributing weapons is fully fake!
Just thing that if he had that many weapons, then he would have given weapons to his police to stop Pak army and Kabailis. The Kashmir riyasat police had almost no weapons to protect.

Being as a resident of Umarkot, actually congress was not interested in the demand for inclusion of amarkot in India because Umarkot was the desert area, the land of Umarkot was not useful and it only burdened the economy of India.On the other hand , Kashmir contained the mountain and agriculture.Therfore both congress and Jinnah showed their interest in Kashmir
We had a chance to atleast talk on Umarkot but unfortunately there was no discussion at all!

Do not blame congress party because king of amarkaot had sighned agreement with jinnah to join Pakistan on the grounds that his all Pvt land will be maintained as it is.

When pakistan occupied parts of J&K India should've later tried to capture at least the border districts of Sindh & created East Sindh State within India. It makes no sense to not have Sindh in India.

You are spreading false information. Destroying history. Kashmir was then 95% Muslim Populated region. Moreover Amar Kot (Now Umarkot) was 90~95 Km inside Pakistan terratory whereas Kashmir is adjascent to Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. There should have referendum for Amar Kot and Kashmir at the same time and people of these states should have asked for their own will. Now too referendum can be held to know the will of both states. Black and White will be resulted.
Plebiscite can only happen when both Pak n China vacate J&K (incl POK) as per UN resolution. Vacate it if you want the voting 😃.
And also lets put Sindhudesh, Balochistan and Pakhtunkwa (esp near Durand Line) to vote as well. What fun that would be!

If Population of Amar kot wanted to join India at the time of Independence then Amar kot would have been part of India but didnt this is why they are part of Pakistan.

Yes. Point is that if just the Raja’s decision was done without a public vote, then Pak has no reason to ask for any vote when Raja of Kashmir signed up for India.
