One of the best female singers, imho. Her singing (predominantly, 1960s period) was influenced a lot by folk music - you can hear echoes of roman, iberian antiquity in many of her songs like "Cicerenella" or "La Berceuse", for example. She has some well-known french pop songs too like Mon Amour Mon Ami, Manchester et Liverpool, Ivan, Boris et moi. She did some covers as well - Sounds of Silence by Simon, Garfunkel, Paint it black by Rolling Stones. I like very much her cover of Moody Blues "Nights in white satin". I'd recommend as well another iconic french chanteuse from 1960s Francoise Hardy.
