My wife was watching this series and after this video I brought this up to her and she said she won’t watch it anymore thank you brother for helping us on the matters.

It may appear harmless but that is the danger. Satan works well with subtleties to get people to believe falsehoods of God and His Word. Godly wisdom and discernment are needed now more than ever. I'm glad you were able to recognize it as being unbiblical without even watching it!
Acts 17:29-30 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
@@Itiswell-ok9di Acts 17:29-30 "Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:" We should not be creating images of the Lord (Acts 17:29-30). Doing so most often ends up giving people false representations of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. Satan thrives on working through subtleties to lead people astray. The Chosen is largely created by non Christians (Mormons & Catholics). It isn't possible for people who are not of God to understand the things of God (1 Corinthians 2:14) and therefore the risk of these actors, screenwriters, and producers creating something that promotes falsehoods of the Lord and His Word is very high. This show should be avoided.
PLEASE do a series on this ! So many people are blurring the lines between what is Biblical and what The Chosen is portraying. They start to replace the Word with what they see in this show...
YES!! I was in a Bible study once and someone was trying to pinpoint or quote a Scripture but later realized it wasn't in the Bible, it was from a scene in The Chosen
I watched the first season when I was still a babe in Christ. I liked it but what I didn't like was whenever I was reading my Bible, the show would play in my mind. Almost like I was replaying an episode. They tell you to read the Bible for yourself, but the show almost acts like a spiritual wall that blocks your ability to read your Bible without it's influence. It sounds crazy, I know, but I don't think I'm the only one who this has happened too. Thankfully, it doesn't happen anymore because I heeded the warning of more mature Christians and stopped watching it. I've heard many people talk about how the show has helped them to see Jesus in a new way and I can't help but think that they are projecting the show into their Bible readings.
That’s an interesting thought. I’ve experienced this with fictional stories in which I watched the movie before reading the book and can’t separate the two. Fortunately I’ve read scripture enough that I usually am aware of the differences while watching the show and try to see where they’re going with it and why. I don’t know much about the Book of Mormon so if they quoted that, it went over my head.
It's disturbing how people cling so much to pieces of art, or TV, or music, so hard, even when it's questionable. You'd think that as a Christian, Christ is upheld and clung too, and one it willing to cut or gouge out anything that is even questionable. Pursue righteousness!
What do you meme made some good points in his video, that we were quick to essentially be angry and that the official chosen group said that it wasn't' a quote of the Book of Mormon and that was the end of the discussion. And that everyone jumped on the band wagon once Wretched RUclips channel mentioned their 'theory'. I could understand and even agree if there wasn't so much evidence of the founder claiming LDS and Christian worship the same Jesus, that most of this is filmed on LDS property it is funded by an LDS productions (angel tv) and the board is mixed with 'christians' and LDS members writing the script. All of this for two seasons no 3, I'm sorry but this is a mormon show and unbiblical and they 100% DID quote the mormon bible regardless if the founder guy is aware of it. I have a lot of issue with dramatizing the history of the Bible for the sake of making Jesus more relatable. Jesus sacrificed himself for us when he didn't have to out of selfless love ... how much more relatable do you want Jesus to be? I'm sorry but ever since I heard that first video with the director about mormonism I stopped watching the show (luckily i was on season 1 episode 1 or 2) A warning, when you see someone being a bit sketchy with primary issues, don't wait for solid evidence to come up, this is why God gave us discernment. So many people say we need to be giving people a chance and not be so judgmental, but forgiveness and judging sin and spiritually harmful material is NOT being sinfully judgmental. I am 24 aka a baby and I am telling people from the bottom of my heart, please grow up and stop making excuses for pretty things - remember satan owns the prettiest buildings.
I have not watched it. Whether or not it has Mormon and Catholic influence I do not know. But Jesus is not here for our entertainment. If I want to know what Jesus is like, I will read my Bible.
It isn’t presented as entertainment. Their objective was to film the biblical accounts of Yeshua ha’Mashiach from the perspective of the disciples who followed Him. Many people have actually picked up their dust-covered Bibles when their interest was piqued by the series.
@@annemurphy9339 it is "creative" they put their own spin on the apostles and Jesus. It is not a documentary, it is not a teaching source, it is for entertainment. Its great that people have been refreshed by the series but it is not the true gospel.
Do a video on it please! I was one who watched the show over a year ago. I did like it at first, but then found out that a lot of Mormons were In the show and the producers! I thank God for his gracious discernment!! I think people should know the truth about that show.
I lost a good friend over The Chosen. I came with Biblical support. He came with Straw Man arguments, then when I asked him for his Biblical support for his position he went crazy on me. Worse yet, he's an Evangelical Pastor... Well, maybe not the way 1st and 2nd Timothy describes a pastor.
I cannot believe the way the "Christian" community defends this series; many hold it as trustworthy as the Word of God and are very cruel to anyone who says otherwise. They believe it has brought them to the Lord and that they understand him more deeply because of it. I see it as deception.
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV) “Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.” - 2 Timothy 1:13 (KJV)
That is not a quote of the Book of Mormon. Please do the research before jumping all over this. I’m not watching or promoting the show, but we should be correct in our facts before pounding on people with them.
Sorry to embarrass you but you need to do your own research. It IS in the Book of Mormon -- 3 Nephi 15:9. At the beginning of chapter 15, "jesus" perceived that people were wondering about what he said concerning the law of Moses. Verse 3 says, "Marvel not that I said unto you that old things had passed away, and that all things become new". That is a major twisting of Scripture right there. Paul said that in 2 Cor. 5:17 and not about the Law. But this sets up "jesus'" explanation of the law of Moses and his relationship to it in verse 9 where he says, "I am the law and the light." Get a copy of the Book of Mormon and do your own research.
I watched the first two seasons before analyzing criticism came out. It led me into sincere worship. I love you guys and listen to you alot. I agree with you and your doctrines of faith. I've been saved 50+ years and was not offended by this "movie". I'm a 5 point calvinist and chosen. I understand your ministry is geared to pointing out bad things and I like that. But I just want to say I enjoyed the Chosen very much.
Can you make a video on chosen and on main points on why it's satanic. Sadly some will not care about smaller issues but if it's on big issues it may help them understand.
A well-known saying in the Mormon religion is "as man now is god once was, as god now is man may become." I remember when my family became Christian (out of Mormonism) and it took a good two years for God to separate in our minds all the false teaching of the Mormon teaching and learn all the correct Scriptural doctrine.
Thank you it makes sense that it being created by those with a false Christ would be representing the false Christ. Talked to many believers who think it’s great. I wouldn’t watch it because of the Mormon and catholic influences.
I have several Christian friends who love this show. Have never watched it myself, but recently saw a review by Ruslan where they looked up the passage in the Book of Mormon and supposedly the quote in the show is not actually in their book. Regardless, I agree it is deceiving people into ecumenism. Thank you for the light you shed here.
According to our apostle Paul’s ministry,to be saved today you must BELIEVE/ TRUST that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day,and that He Shed His Blood as payment for all of your sins forever,( you personally).
Thank you for this. People are falling for it left and right. Vid Angel studios is owned by Mormons, Jesus character is catholic, endorsed by the Pope, Dallas Jenkins thinks we all believe in the same Jesus. I don’t believe that is true at all. This lines up nicely for the one world religion. If you’re not in your Bible learning daily and searching the scriptures you will fall for this. It tweaks things so slightly and thank you Spencer for saying that about effecting your Bible reading. Absolutely. Thank you again and God bless you all.
@@ellenyoerger8052It’s true. I almost went to work for Angel Studios, but I saw their Mormon leadership and the Holy Spirit convicted me to not pursue it.
Jesus did not quote from the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon verse everyone is referring to is "I am the Law and the light" In the show he says "I am the Law of Moses" If you have to change what the Book of Mormon says so that what Jesus says matches it then its not a quote, with that rationale you can claim Jesus is quoting from Mein Kampf.
If you haven't seen the series then you can not honestly critique it. Going on other's opinion is following blindly. Watch it then give us "your" opinion.
Hi, I know ppl whose youth pastor warned the parents not to let their children go to the Harry Potter movie. One parent asked the pastor if hed seen it. The pastor hadn't so the parent brushed it off. As time went on the children and parents had the book series.
If you wouldn't make the same argument for _Jesus Christ Superstar_ , then it can't be used to protect _The Chosen_ . Both of those things take a cavalier, reckless, and outright careless approach in presenting their own version of Jesus to a biblically illiterate audience.
I watched the first 2 seasons and I liked it. But I often wondered if I should have watched it at all. I believe you though because I like all your content and what you teach. Instead of saying there is unbiblicle stuff, would really like to see a video pointing out some of the unbiblicle scenes. It would really help me, and help me in warning others.
That’s the thing, they are attacking this series without even sitting down and watching it. This show has no mormon, nor catholic influence. They are taking the bible as true as they can while adding depth to the characters (story and life to each disciple form what would probable be there point of view back in that time) with ought changing what Jesus said. It’s that simple. The director of The Chosen talked clearly about that episodes where Jesus said I am the law of Moses. Look up that video where he explains that that phrase didn’t come from any religión not even mormonism.
Watch the episode where John The Baptist & Jesus "have a chat". Jesus makes light of sin and tries to stop John from confronting Herod about it. Sorry, but that isn't the biblical Jesus. And that one scene should be enough for everyone to reject the show. You know what the biggest problem is though? It makes people feel good. The creators could biblically err as much as they want - as long as they are making people feel good, people will support it and remain ignorant to what the Bible says in purity without the lens of The Chosen which many people are now reading it with.
The scene where Jesus was preparing his teaching on Mount Sermont. It was a clear mockery of Jesus portraying him like someone coming up with some ideas and asking Matthew to write it down like he might forget it later was ridiculous.
@@HelenAdiya-mp1zt Thanks. Yes, after my original post 10 months ago I've seen lots of examples of why Christians should stay away from this show. Spencer did point out more areas of the show in detail, and I appreciated it. Lots of subliminal things too in the show that can be hard to catch.

I'm sorry you have not watched the show and more of the video commentary by Dallas Jenkins before deciding The TV show The Chosen is bad. I have listened to a lot of Dallas Jenkins commentary and he continually expresses that this series is a human effort and that they make mistakes etc. I've never heard him state that this is a perfect interpretation of scripture, but instead reminds viewers that this show is for inspiration and entertainment and that viewers should read the scripture for themselves. He has shown interviews with a Jewish Rabbi, Priest and and Evangelical Pastor that helped them research scripture and historical Jewish culture to bring out the best representation as possible of the days and times Jesus lived out his earthly ministry. I have not seen any interviews with Mormon influencers. I will however look into your claim that the actor made a morman comment. I have found the show to be magnificent and actually makes me want to look up in scripture the scenes that are being played out on the screen. I find the development of personalities in the series such as Nicodemus, the disciples, etc very well done and interesting! This program engages with the audience as it endeavors to show the humanity AND divinity of Christ. I've been a Christ follower for 50 years and read my Bible regularly. I know that Jesus also had many people take his words out of context, I'm wondering if that is a lot of what is happening here. Maybe not, I'm open to being corrected, but thought I would share my experience with the show. I've been a HUGE FAN! I am a visual person and love good entertainment that doesn't violate my conscience... that is why the Chosen has meant a lot to me. Audio/Visual learners are drawn movies and videos to help comprehension of what they are trying to understand. Maybe you could go directly to Dallas and straighten this out for the body of Christ so we have something other than Netflix to rely on for entertainment. Thank you for letting me express my views.

So today he posted a video basically denying there was a quote from the Book of Mormon by the Jesus in the show, and continued to defend this program. I replied again as this show is misleading many times think Mormonism is Christian and those like this channel that condone / defend this show are doing a great injustice to not only the lost, and Mormons but also to deceived Christians. Allegiance to the Word of God & the God of the Word is number 1. God is revealed in his WORD, not by The Chosen. Anyone that has read the NT would have rejected this show based on the conversation between John The Baptist and Jesus alone. Jesus made little of sin and tried to prevent John from confronting Herod over it. That isn't love - that's a sentimental Jesus more concerned about the temporality of John's existence on earth instead of his eternal destiny. What did Jesus call Peter when he became sentimental in his thinking towards Jesus rather than understanding God's will? Using Satan as a mascot to attract people to watch the show should be another alarm bell in Christians ears. The problem is that we are so obsessed with feelings and emotions that this stuff is secondary in its importance. Mary Magdalene "You are mine" Jesus says. Ohhhh. How beautiful. The bible says it plainly that Jesus cast 7 demons out of her. That's it. The 4 men (emphasis on MEN) that lowered the man from the roof to Jesus to be healed. Jesus looks at the woman "your faith is very beautiful" ohhhhh. How touching. This show is CLEARLY, with a capital C aimed at females and capturing their emotions and leading them astray. And judging by the comments sections on Facebook and how overly populated they are of women saying they cried or are so touched by this show - it's working. Straight up deception.
I’ve tried to watch the chosen. The first couple episodes reeled me in and I was a big fan. But after watching it a little more I felt very off about it. Call it Holy Spirit discernment. But I just felt like there was something very wrong with it but I couldn’t figure out what
Yes. I stopped watching when they had "Jesus" practicing his speech to the crowd and hoping not to "mess it up". Sorry, my God does not need to practice anything and He most certainly will NOT mess it up. Also, the way "Jesus" was asking Matthew for advice on the sermon? Really? No. That is very unbiblical and I stopped watching after that. It really made me feel sick to see that.
Subtle just like Satan! If you don’t know your Bible doctrine, you will be drawn in. I saw it in the first few episodes. The biggest give away was how the world loved it and touted it! I knew right then something was not right about it!!
Isn't it ironic how many people will binge watch hours of a TV show, which may or may not be Scripturally accurate, and will defend it at all costs.... .BUT... if the preacher goes past 30 minutes on a sermon in church, it's time to bring out the tar and feathers. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
I have been purging my home of anything that doesn't follow and encourage the true faith, that has been left behind in the first century. You've heard of "the faith once delivered to the saints", we have got to get back to THAT faith. Seek the ancient paths, mentioned in Jeremiah 6:16. I've added my dvd set of The CHOSEN to the trash pile.
The Gospel for the N.T. Age of Grace/Church Age is 1 Cor. 15: 1-4 KJV. Rom. 10: 1-21 KJV and Rom. 3: 25 KJV explains it further. It's what Christ did for us that we're saved and it's by faith alone, not works. We're forgiven for all sins by Christ's shed blood. That was an excellent stream last night!
Jonathan Roumie plays Lonnie Frisbee on the upcoming Jesus Revolution movie about the forming of the Calvary Chapel denomination - Lonnie was an openly/unrepentant gay man who did drugs and partied but then preached on Sundays. On another note, Dallas Jenkins’ father, Jerry Jenkins (co-author of the Left Behind series) is now writing books for the Chosen series, which shows his series lack of discernment, following in the steps of his son. Of course, anyone backing this series, like Kirk Cameron, is showing their lack of discernment as well.
@Darren For your sake, I hope you truly got saved through trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ alone and His finished work of redemption on the cross of Calvary - HOWEVER, from your profile pic, I can tell you are not applying the Bible to your daily life (like James 1:22-24 says), because the Bible teaches this: 1 Corinthians 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? Hair length is not cultural - it is based on creation and God's Word says your long hair is shameful and a sign of disobedience to the Lord.
Believe me, I've wrestled with some of the same concerns expressed here; but at the same time, two of you in the video acknowledged right off the bat that you've never even seen the Chosen. How can you critique and criticize it when you're only going by what you've heard about it? I would advise at least watching it for yourself before making a video like this. You may still draw the same conclusions, but at least then it would be with firsthand knowledge of the show, not just things you've heard about it.
The Bible was perserved by God and His faithful martyrs over centuries. It is truly written in blood. If you count having read it once (or less) in your life enough and would rather soak up The Chosen for spiritual nourishment then you’re probably not a Christian.
Hey Spencer! I have a question for you. I think you make some really great points, many of which have concerned me as well. However, I do wonder if some Christians are acting hypocritical when they choose to bash on people who watch “The Chosen” but meanwhile they choose to watch secular entertainment like Marvel, Disney, etc. It seems messed up to me if we’re choosing to focus on slamming the show with some Biblical roots over other secular shows with no Biblical roots whatsoever. Maybe we should stop supporting Marvel and Disney before we start slamming on “The Chosen”? What are your thoughts?
I avoid this show at all cost I don't care what new age people live in but I follow what Christ says regardless of what context is in it, from what I heard especially if it's made by Mormons. If its not from the bible no thank you I worship the real Jesus Christ our savior in heaven.
"I never seen it either..." interesting comment. BECAUSE of your criticism which I just viewed made me curious. So I decided to pull up an episode to check it out. I pulled up Season 2, episode 4. It was an amazing episode. Then I shared that video with my elderly mother and dad. They loved it. I shared it with my cousin...whose husband is an atheist. He was so impressed that he borrowed her Bible to check out the story found in the book of John. So thanks for the introduction to this program. And by the way...parts of it are filmed here in Texas; big part of the Bible Belt. Not many Mormons down here. Christ be with you!...and Thanks again for your video. Otherwise I wouldn't have watched it!
Last night, October26, I watched a program about a Mormon family that had turned from the movement. All through the presentation, Mormons were referred to as THE CHOSEN. Should this have been our first clue as to the series THE CHOSEN?
Romans 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
How can you expect people to take you seriously as a panel of educated critics when not one of you has watched the show? I have genuine concerns over it too but please don’t pretend to be an authority on something you didn’t bother to research yourself. Makes me question your footwork on your other videos.

Y'all are bashing something you claim to know nothing about? Reading a quote can be misleading you don't have the tone of voice or full context. The Dallas Jenkins "same Jesus" quote is him saying he doesn't know much about their religion. And he knows there are differences. But he has mormons who he works with and he doesn't have any reason to doubt them when they tell him they believe in the New Testament Jesus. The quote around the 2 minute mark isn't him saying he is divinely inspired, he took it as a warning from God not to mess it up. One telling of that story is on youtube if you search for "Dallas Jenkins in Israel" one of the first videos is by the channel "grafted" just around 10 minutes he tells it. From around 30 minutes on some of these other issues are discussed. The show encourages people to read the Bible and has always been open about the fact that among the actors are catholics, jews, and nonbelievers of different backgrounds.
You said at about the 4:30 mark that Jesus warned his disciples "to beware of different" can you please give the scripture reference for where that's at. Thank you.
So I've been thinking about the merry heart verse lately. I used to think merry heart meant being a cut up but the more I grow in the Lord I think I was wrong. Strongs references rejoicing under merry and my heart instantly goes to rejoice in the Lord always. The more I grow in this relationship I'm thinking it more means a rejoicing contented in the Lord posture. Interested your thoughts on this. Nice hoodie btw Ps I'm not against humor.
@@Jsaves1 It is not us to judge. I know people who have found Jesus of the Holy Bible from this show. You know by their fruits. I have seen this. The statement I said means nothing more than that it is possible. No discernment needed for this
@@butterflywings370 you are justifying the means by looking at the end result. In other words you are saying as long as people are reading their bible more - then it's a good thing? Right? Well, no, actually it isn't. Because instead of purely reading the bible as it is they are reading the bible with a lens. The Chosen lens. They are picturing a False Christ and false depictions of the disciples. This should not be so. Especially with Jesus the Son of God the Holy One of Israel. Where is the fear of God that we would even consider putting words into Jesus' mouth that we have not read in red letters in our Bible. I do not like being misrepresented - I am 100% sure God does not like being misrepresented.
The show cuts words out by condensing the stories and adds words to them for the liberty of time as stated at the start. The way I see it is that's like editing the bible because you're not saying word for word and Action for action. They assume how much people hated Matthew for being a tax collector but how do we know who truly hated who? I think it's a nice way to get people open to CHRIST but the only way people will truly see CHRIST is by reading the Bible and knowing him that way

Same with the Passion of the Christ. The movie was way too focused on how Christ died rather than why he had to die to redeem us of our sins. Felt like I was watching a CSI Vegas episode and a Chucky movie during the entire film!
I had similar feelings. K love Jesus but everything was all about the crucifixion. I would have liked it better if they had focused on some of his teachings, miracles, plus his resurrection. That was tge most important part they missed out on.

The early church made the iconic portraits of Christ, some of which have survived into modernity, and used them as a witnessing tool. Excavations of the very ancient Hebraic synagogues also reveal mosaics depicting biblical accounts, along with all types of animals and fauna. None of the images were worshipped idols. They were testaments of Yehovah’s dealings with mankind and to the beauty of His creation.

It's good to raise concerns and warnings over the chosen, which is why people need to keep the written word as the foundation. However don't discredit it entirely, it's changing lives pointing people to Christ. There's addressing biblical concern and then there's becoming a religious pharisee. This channel has a tendency to lean towards religious pharisee (though not all the time)
I remember watching the first season……thought it was good, but something didn’t quite sit right, after roaming through S2…..it became more evident of the “mixing” they had. Thank you Brother Spencer. I appreciate your work. May the Lord continue to bless you and the ministry He’s given you. Maranatha!
I think the popularity of the Chosen series is due to the longing of so many Christians to see Jesus because of the terrible sin, wickedness, and lack of justice in this present evil world.
I watched the first season I'd only been saved maybe a year but there were some scenes some what I'd say sexually uncomfortable in my stomach between the catholic Jesus and Mary Magdalena (sp) Dallas is a Morman. I unfortunately thought that it was good at first and payed it forward for that I've asked for forgiveness 😔. In a scene also Jonathan (catholic Jesus) says about a miracle "well I didn't see that coming " Really Jesus saw everything he was never surprised. Please please don't watch this show I asked early on about it and was told to stay away from that show by some very loving sisters in Christ Thank You it does warp the true word of God.
TRUE BELIEVERS WOULDN’T HAVE TO WATCH A SECOND OF IT ALL ONE NEEDS TO DO IS LOOK AT THE MAIN CHARACTER TO KNOW ITS UNBIBLICAL AND NOT GIVE IT A SECOND ISAIAH 53
I love how none of the people in the video saw the series but go on to say how awful the series is. I have seen no issue with the series. If it takes a turn against scripture I will change my stance. The points these guys have stated are out of context btw. Dallas Jenkins has cleared these things up. The people in this video are ignorant. They claim to know scripture yet state without any caution the lead actor of chosen is clearly not saved. The Bible warns us not to make definitive statements about a persons salvation.
Almost every time I have that bad feeling when I see a photo o fa movie or the trailer, its always 99% of the time that when I finish the movie, I regret it and the Holy Ghost was right. so I disagree..
My wife was watching this series and after this video I brought this up to her and she said she won’t watch it anymore thank you brother for helping us on the matters.
Praise the LORD so glad to hear of the a faithful Saint's today

A family member has been pushing me to watch this. And I keep telling her I don't think it's biblical. I am so glad you did this video!
Amen, I have been watching Spencer about a year my last name is Fox also God Bless you.
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:"
We should not be creating images of the Lord (Acts 17:29-30).
Amen sister in Christ!! I have been the same way about it. The Bible is all we need to know and understand Jesus!!
Yes I learned years ago that movies get things mixed up from facts and fiction.
Yeah thats a problem
Yes. Thank you.
I found myself also reading the characters into my time in the Bible. I also was young in Christ and thankfully discernment started kicking in quick!
@@carrichildress Praise the Lord for discernment! I'm so grateful that the Holy Spirit helped us both!
@@nbtboj7771 amen to that!!!
Yes!!!!! I’m so thankful you addressed this show. I appreciate this so much!
Yes, I'm sure your views weren't modified or manipulated by a RUclips pot-stirrer like Spencer Smith. Judge a tree by its fruits.
Yes. Thank you.
My uncle's pastor likes it. It surprised me .
I also know a pastor couple and they are huge fans of the chosen and watched multiple times. Nuts
@Darren same! Ex Carasmatic/NAR , welcome 🏡
It’s become an idol for many. It’s quite bizarre to witness.
Imagine losing a friend because a television show failed your purity test. Calvinists are the worst smh
I cannot believe the way the "Christian" community defends this series; many hold it as trustworthy as the Word of God and are very cruel to anyone who says otherwise. They believe it has brought them to the Lord and that they understand him more deeply because of it. I see it as deception.
Yes. Thank you. It is deception.
Yes, and they aren't using the right bible
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
- 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV)
“Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.”
- 2 Timothy 1:13 (KJV)
But this sets up "jesus'" explanation of the law of Moses and his relationship to it in verse 9 where he says, "I am the law and the light."
Get a copy of the Book of Mormon and do your own research.
Abide in the vine! John 15

Can you make a video on chosen and on main points on why it's satanic. Sadly some will not care about smaller issues but if it's on big issues it may help them understand.
A well-known saying in the Mormon religion is "as man now is god once was, as god now is man may become."
I remember when my family became Christian (out of Mormonism) and it took a good two years for God to separate in our minds all the false teaching of the Mormon teaching and learn all the correct Scriptural doctrine.
Thank you it makes sense that it being created by those with a false Christ would be representing the false Christ. Talked to many believers who think it’s great. I wouldn’t watch it because of the Mormon and catholic influences.
people(professing Christians) have unfriended me on Facebook for saying this show is bad. I'm called judgmental.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING for this video for so long!!! can’t wait to hear your comments on this
I have several Christian friends who love this show.
Your ignorance is frightening. You absolutely don't know what you're talking about. So sorry for you.😪
@@ellenyoerger8052It’s true. I almost went to work for Angel Studios, but I saw their Mormon leadership and the Holy Spirit convicted me to not pursue it.
Jesus did not quote from the Book of Mormon.
The Book of Mormon verse everyone is referring to is "I am the Law and the light"
In the show he says "I am the Law of Moses"
If you have to change what the Book of Mormon says so that what Jesus says matches it then its not a quote, with that rationale you can claim Jesus is quoting from Mein Kampf.
@@shaymay2892 "its not verbatim" with that rationale you can get jesus to quote mein kampf

That's like saying "have you seen any porn? Watch it and then you can criticize." It's exactly the same type of thing.
If you wouldn't make the same argument for _Jesus Christ Superstar_ , then it can't be used to protect _The Chosen_ . Both of those things take a cavalier, reckless, and outright careless approach in presenting their own version of Jesus to a biblically illiterate audience.
@Darren I think I've seen your video. Good job promoting it here. Grow in Jesus.
@@merrittascott4408 The Harry Potter series can not compare to the Bible. One is fantasy and the other the TRUTH. Go in peace with God's love.

I love "The Chosen." It has brought me closer to God. For you guys to never have seen it yet claim that it is evil REALLY???

Yeah, I notice those feelings in movies

When I saw the interview with Dallas Jenkins, I knew he was a deceiver.
Yes. Me too.
An ad for "The Chosen" literally popped up after this video.
Sounds like you guys are scholars on the chosen. Thank you for your discernment on something you’ve never even watched….

And by the way...parts of it are filmed here in Texas; big part of the Bible Belt. Not many Mormons down here. Christ be with you!...and Thanks again for your video. Otherwise I wouldn't have watched it!
We were definitely “enchanted” during the first season. We began to get uncomfortable with it a few episodes into the 2nd season and gave it up.

Last night, October26, I watched a program about a Mormon family that had turned from the movement. All through the presentation, Mormons were referred to as THE CHOSEN. Should this have been our first clue as to the series THE CHOSEN?
Thank you
Romans 6:13
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
How can you expect people to take you seriously as a panel of educated critics when not one of you has watched the show? I have genuine concerns over it too but please don’t pretend to be an authority on something you didn’t bother to research yourself. Makes me question your footwork on your other videos.
I appreciate this, but I need more. Too many people are really in to this. I need strong, specific points and examples.
When it first came on , I could not watch it. Felt a NO in my spirit. I have friends who think it’s the best. I cannot watch something I feel conviction over.
That's on Instagram alot thank you Spencer... now I know truth about the chosen movie🤔..
I just shared this and it only took 2 minute for a comment , her statement exactly to my FB post , “ You guys haven’t seen it but you are bashing it SMH WATCH IT BEFORE YOU CONDEMN
Lighthouse Trails is wonderful. Excellent discernment. ❣️
I've watched the chosen for 3 minutes when it came out and immediately knew something is off.
I never believed any of the Jesus movies..and there's been quite a few of them..
It's the world loves it it's got to be universalism. It's a world loves it has got to be a false gospel it's got to be a different Jesus it's like 2 Corinthians 11.4 says.
Why after watching your video, a preview of the chosen popped up as an add?????
The devil be busy in the subtle slide away from biblical doctrine that truly matters. Thank you brothers!!! God bless you!!✝️🙏🏾
Y'all are bashing something you claim to know nothing about?
My gosh there is traps everywhere. Doctrine Matters! Thanks and please keep warning the flock. Blessings
You said at about the 4:30 mark that Jesus warned his disciples "to beware of different" can you please give the scripture reference for where that's at. Thank you.
Agree!
Nice hoodie btw
Ps I'm not against humor.
I am excited for season 3. This show has lead many people to Jesus. You have to remember Mr. Spencer God can use anything to accomplish His will.
Leading them to Jesus if it’s the right Jesus is one thing but are they truly converted followers of Jesus is entirely another. You need discernment.
@@Jsaves1 It is not us to judge. I know people who have found Jesus of the Holy Bible from this show. You know by their fruits. I have seen this. The statement I said means nothing more than that it is possible. No discernment needed for this
@@butterflywings370 the end never justifies the means. All you have to do is look at their recent marketing campaign in using Satan as their mascot.
@@Sbock86 ???
I think it's a nice way to get people open to CHRIST but the only way people will truly see CHRIST is by reading the Bible and knowing him that way
Lighthouse trails research is an excellent resource!
Greetings from Germany. It's a blasphemous movie. Almost everything is pure blasphemy. I watched it only because my sister asked me to and then I watched it again to write an article about how blasphemous this movie is!
Well said brother!
I cannot get out of my head scenes in that series that make me uncomfortable...for one thing....Simon Peter and muscles....and that scene with his wife.🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈nooooooooooo...it may seem silly but thats why we aren't suppose to make movies depicting characters from the Bible.
@Darren it didn't take long to figure out something was off...
That last part... I remember something similar in the Saint Paul movie....
God's word says one must test the spirit........
Good thing I'm not missing out on anything by NOT watching that stuff!
I would very much like to see a video in more detail about the show.
New trailer for season 3 reference Book of Mormon. Jesus says “I am the law of Moses “. The problem is (other than this being heretical) the law condemns men where the LORD Jesus Christ saves from the law.
We had a snippet of the film The Gospel of Mark at church on Sunday..we're not even meant to behold an image let alone a film of Jesus!! I'm soooo...um....in shock.
still. My good friend/sister in Christ watches the chosen, we can't even talk about it without her getting upset with me
I was rebuked by a Christian woman when I warned about the Chosen because she said you’d have to throw out every depiction of Jesus etc on film then.
@@annemurphy9339 Acts 17:29-30 "Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:"
@@tiffanydrouin2622 Yeshua came to earth in the body of a mortal man and in that mortal body, was seen by multitudes. This is common sense.
@@annemurphy9339 His earthly body was formed by God, not by the doings of man. This is common sense and it does not contradict Scripture - unlike a tv series created by people for others entertainment. The Bible is clear man is not to create images of God and that Jesus isn't here for your amusement. Give up only being entertained with Christ and pick up God's Word to develop a direct relationship with Him. The Bible is *the only thing* we need to gain knowledge of Him - nothing else is required or else God would've already given it to us so that we would be without excuse.
I only watched the 1st couple of shows and thought it was a great show. I paid it forward for well over a year for others to watch. I since of canceled out my monthly giving for it.
It's good to raise concerns and warnings over the chosen, which is why people need to keep the written word as the foundation. However don't discredit it entirely, it's changing lives pointing people to Christ. There's addressing biblical concern and then there's becoming a religious pharisee. This channel has a tendency to lean towards religious pharisee (though not all the time)
God can use anything dosent' mean you should keep watching it.. bad doctrine can lead people astray
@@GodisGracious1031Ministries It is not leading people astray. It's literally a show that redepicts the story of Christ.
Is it following the Bible or man made addictions?@@thejconstantine3081
Keep up the great work bro
People have a tendency to think that if it's in the movie that it's in the Bible.
TRUE BELIEVERS WOULDN’T HAVE TO WATCH A SECOND OF IT ALL ONE NEEDS TO DO IS LOOK AT THE MAIN CHARACTER TO KNOW ITS UNBIBLICAL AND NOT GIVE IT A SECOND
ISAIAH 53
Should check out the chosen exposen on RUclips. The guy did a good job on this documentary.
HUMANITY gets dumb and dumber
I love how none of the people in the video saw the series but go on to say how awful the series is. I have seen no issue with the series. If it takes a turn against scripture I will change my stance. The points these guys have stated are out of context btw. Dallas Jenkins has cleared these things up. The people in this video are ignorant. They claim to know scripture yet state without any caution the lead actor of chosen is clearly not saved. The Bible warns us not to make definitive statements about a persons salvation.
The Bible says the heart is desperately wicked and Jesus of the Chosen says what does your heart tell you? End of story lol
Its laughable how this whole channel is geared towards judging other Christians. Absolutely pathetic
Almost every time I have that bad feeling when I see a photo o fa movie or the trailer, its always 99% of the time that when I finish the movie, I regret it and the Holy Ghost was right. so I disagree..
I knew something was wrong with that show!
