Yeah, let's make "Travis goes to a haunted house" a stretch goal for some ridiculous number, like, idk, _10 million_ or sth, we'll never reach that. Right?
The ONLY reasons I will object to "hivemind" is 1) the meaning behind "hivemind" 2) That Travis called us "legion." Your idea is not wrong, I just think "Critter Legion" or "Legion of Critters" has better opportunities for representation on a T-Shirt, The idea of the timestamp of how fast this goal was shattered (on the back) makes me laugh.
MCMLondon was the same, Critters took over the Con, It was woefully unprepared for the number of Critters who descended on London from all over the world. Hopefully now they will be able to plan ahead a bit more?
Thank you for making this because I definitely missed the announcement. Time to give them all my money. I hope they realize the only stretch goal I want is more animated critical role. This is a kickstarter that I don’t need secondary goals for.
That has been a part of a few of the stretch goals! If I'm not mistaken we hit 88 minutes of animation at $3M and now it's over $4M so I'd guess we're probly up to at least 110 minutes, maybe even over 2 hours.
5:04 That freaking noise Matt makes. It just warms my heart. I mean think about it. You make up a world for your friends to play in. Now you get a chance to talk to a creative department about it. That's fucking nuts dude.
Well, don't want to force you or anything but there is no problem without solution. You can still use someone else card and pay him back. Or eventually, you can order a credit card at your bank, it will be useful in your future adult life.
Ask your parents! Explain to them that it is for agood cause and your money will go to funding an animated series that is the first of its kind and you'll be part of the reason it was allowed to happen! I did that and they said "alright, you're paying it from your money, but we'll let you use the card if it means so much to you". I am very happy that I did it.
If you are a young adult with a job in the us take 20$ and buy a prepaid credit card a visa and use that, so you aren't using anyone else's card. But yes talk to your parents because they might do that for you. :)
Critical Role staff and crew spend weeks preping for kickstarter with an ingenious wall contraption showing the stretch goals and planning to make a big display as each is reached. Critters: We would like to rage-pay Wall: is obliterated in hours Crit Role team: stunned in joy, surprise and they now have to come up with new stretch goals and maybe some more supporter tiers.
Joe Mamone Well yeah that’s 25k!!! I’m shocked the 1k, 2.5k and 5k all sold out! They even have people who took up the 10k and 20k like...this is just for an animation WHAT IN THE HELL IS HAPPENING????
I've said this on a few twitter comments.... You guys deserve this! You have given all of us so much over the years. You have devoted your time and energy to sharing your game, and your story with us. This is us giving back to the cast and crew that have given all of us so much. "They were always beside you. Your nerdy best friends and your GM to guide you" That is us...the nerdy friends.
Maybe now us Europeans and Asian and general International Critters will be able to get some real (time) love as well? Don't get me wrong - no hating the East- or the Westcoast here - but as you can obviously see now: We do exsist... :) #CRWorldtour
@@Muricata I realised that as well. Hence the "international Critters" part. We are - as we have heard from a very kind and gentle giant - legion after all. :)
To be fair it's hard for them to schedule live streams for International time zones due to most of them having families and all of them also having day jobs as voice actors and voice directors.
The CEO, COO, and the Creative Director completely speechless at the face of the utter generosity and overwhelming tenacity of the entire Critter Community.
They should film a short skit where they are in a field with a collection bucket, cuts to a group of warriors in armour plate, a scout runs up... "Guys! Critical role are kick-starting and animated special!" Points towards them, the camera cuts to the leaders grim face that now cracks a smile, he raises a horn to his lips and blows, as a clear ringing call fills the air, the camera pulls back to reveal a vast vast army all well armoured veterans, the leader, points with his sword "CHARGE!!' and the army thunders towards a now terrified and bewildered vox Machina XD just as they are about to collide, they skid to a halt and start politely handing over money XD
I. WANT. A COOKING SHOW. With Taliesin and... hmm... Laura? What do you all think? I want to learn stuff from them! Especially food that shows up in D&D-type campaigns
Just returning to see their faces after seeing the first episodes of the masterpiece they thought of doing. MY GOD WHAT A BEAUTIFUL TRIP THIS WAS, IS AND WILL BE!
Matt's reaction to Sam's legitimate idea to reveal more lore is fucking priceless. "We could show the divergents and stuff li-.." "I DIDNT THINK ABOUT THAT. AAAAHHHHHH."
4.33 Million in 24 hours. They've only got stretch goals up to $3,000,000. At this point the community is literally saying "I have no idea what they're going to do with my money but I want them to have it" That is a crazy amount of trust, and they've earned every bit of it.
If he comes back, it better be as a villain under the DMs control. The character died, and I think Taliesin himself is content with that for himself. Think Lady Sariel from MCDM
What blows my mind is that out of all the backers more than half of them donated $100 or more... where can you find fans like that?!? Love you fellow Critters!!!
Now if only we could all get out and vote for a political candidate who deserved recognition, unlike whoever the two parties attempts to shove down our throats... then maybe millennials would have more say in the doings of the country. This kind of thing, but there...
Watching this Video at the End of the campaign where they’ve managed to raise (as of me writing this comment) over $10,000,000 or 1362% of the original goal, is even more surreal and Hilarious, especially Travis’ jokes about stretch goals.
To give context/clarity for those not familiar with how the Legend of Vox Machina (LoVM) Kickstarter project went, yet found their way here... *:)* 1.) *_Initial Projections & Goals (Kickstarter announcement: 03/04/2019)..._* - a.) The (initial) goal would be to produce a Stand Alone, 22 minutes long, Animated Short with no commercials (this was *NOT* a LoVM episode), featuring the Vox Machina group at roughly level 06-07. - b.) A rough but workable budget/goal of $750,000 USDollars was set. - c.) It was projected to be able to reach this base amount, and perhaps some *_("some")_* of the Stretch Goals, within the 45-day Kickstarter period. - d.) If successful, more Animated Shorts would be further Kickstarter'ed and produced, on an individual basis, but all cohesively and progressively tied to [Critical Role Campaign #1: Vox Machina (2015-2017)]. 2.) *_Kickstarter Results (ended 04/19/2019)..._* - a.) The base goal of $750,000 USD was reached *_UNDER 60 MINUTES_* of the LoVM Kickstarter going active. - b.) By the end of the first 24 hours after the LoVM Kickstarter going active, approximately *$4.3 million USD* had been raised. Remember, the initial maximum Stretch Goals were set to $1.0 million USD over a 45-day period. - c.) Additional Stretch Goals were added across the following days & weeks. All Stretch Goals were reached, including the _"crazy goal"_ ($10.0 million USD) of having Travis Willingham make a solo journey through a haunted house, much to Travis' chagrin. [(6:10) - *Side-Note:* Travis is afraid of pitch-black darkness.] - d.) By the end of the 45-day Kickstarter period, the funds totaled *$11,385,449 USD.* - e.) The LoVM Kickstarter holds the record (as of 2022) as one of the most quickly funded in Kickstarter history, and the most funded Kickstarter for TV and film projects. 3.) *_Future_** (as of the end of [LoVM season 01]) --* Amazon Studios has pre-approved LoVM seasons 02-03, so no further fan-funding currently is currently needed until [LoVM s04+]. This will likely cover the epic struggle of *[CR Campaign #1, story-arc 3/5: The Chroma Conclave].* Whether we will see [CR c01, arc 4/5: Taryon Darrington] and the final [CR c01, arc 5/5: Vecna], Time will tell... 4.) *_Personally_** --* I hope we will manage to reach producing [CR campaign #2: The Mighty Nein]. @@themoviecritic1092 ~ Yes, I am aware of *[Critical Role Campaign #2 - The Mighty Nein (2018-2021)]* (M9) being approved for a multi-season contract/deal by Amazon Studios. My initial Comment is many months old, after all. *;)* But it is even more than that, for both Good and Evil... 1.) *_Good_** ~* What is easy to miss/overlook is that besides the multi-season contract for the M9 animated series, there is also a movie-deal (pre-)included in the deal as well. What this very likely means...? We are probably also going to be getting the *[Vox Machina vs. Mighty Nein (Special Episode #56 / 2x141b)]* as well. *:)* 2.) *_Evil_** ~* However, the M9 animated series not a guarantee of production turnout either... Not with the current D&D-spanning controversy over [Hasbro / Wizards of the Coast] intending to revoke the Open Game License (OGL) v1.0 and replace it with a new OGL ("v1.1, 1.2) with tyrannical/authoritarian stipulations that would allow [Hasbro/WotC] to completely seize license-control and revenue(s) of all of Critical Role's works. *:(* Time will tell how this develops and turns out...
@@pendrake40 I genuinely feel the OGL is the least of our worries with this announcement and the fact that they made their own company for the CRU, but who knows. I think that the show will do well, and that despite the controversy people will check it out because... well it'd the Mighty Nein. I feel CR is slowly moving away from D&D material and making their own signature stuff. But I'm a newbie to all of this, I do think CR will do the right thing. I don't need a statement from them, actions speak louder than words... and I think this recent news is the action :D
Fellow Critters... I think we broke the cast (especially Mercer) with our love. No, seriously, this has been insane and incredible to see and this is an incredible fandom to be a part of and I'm so happy I joined the Critter legion.
The Critters Who Backed the Kickstarter: THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN ANIMATED SPECIAL, WE MADE A BLOOD PACT NOT TO BUY ANOTHER DICE SET UNTIL THIS IS FINISHED. Me over in the corner: You did everyone proud you beautiful fuckers.
1. Should this situation being put into World Record? "The Fastest Kick-Starter in the world"? 2. 1:54 Travis had a point. "Critters" no longer describe the fanbase anymore. "Legions" seems more fitting. 3. I hate missing this livestream. I would've ask for Bertrand Bell Martial Archetype (cus i have no idea what subclass he is) and Orthax Warlock Patron (cus i found, basicly, a "pact of a gun" and i could use evil!Percy to play, with bunch of smoke & fire spells to use) as stretch goals. Compared to ask the return of Ashley & Vax, making 2 homebrew subclasses seems more approachable
Percy didn't have any levels into Warlock, he took the Magic Initiate feat and took Hex, Minor Illusion and Friends. Sadly no idea about Bertrand Bell, think I might have missed any clues as to his archetype. Maybe champion? Seems to fit his personality, although I didn't see him benefiting from Survivor despite being level 18 and regaining 5 hp + con modifier at the start of his turn (Or maybe Travis just forgot, it happens :p).
You teased us with an animated special, but I'm sure all of us fans want a whole series. I know I'm not the only one thinking about it, but would you dare?

What do you think the fades are for?
They arnt going to keep it up for 44 days but if they do then they will be richer than the ceo of amazon
My favorite Matt Mercer moment is when he realizes that he can show the Divergence
*OUR NAME IS LEGION, FOR WE ARE MANY*
Best part of that haunted house stretch goal is that they raised 11 million dollars.
And Travis did it
5 mil and we push for Mollymauk one shots
This needs to be a thing...
Y e s
Everyone is molly, long may he reign
One shots? Screw that! Resurrect Molly! (Actually One shots sound incredibly cool O_o )
OMG YES! Afterall, he is our god. We must eat of his fruits.
The manic laughter of people who just realized the enormity of the situation.
I love CR so much.
A "Legion of Critters" T-shirt and on the back the first 24 hours timestamps as the goal and stretch goals are smashed.
"Critter Hivemind" i would say XD
The ONLY reasons I will object to "hivemind" is 1) the meaning behind "hivemind" 2) That Travis called us "legion." Your idea is not wrong, I just think "Critter Legion" or "Legion of Critters" has better opportunities for representation on a T-Shirt, The idea of the timestamp of how fast this goal was shattered (on the back) makes me laugh.
This entire livestream was Critical Role.exe has stopped working
Lol, it's the CR T-shirts all over again!
A monster is born! ^^
MCMLondon was the same, Critters took over the Con, It was woefully unprepared for the number of Critters who descended on London from all over the world. Hopefully now they will be able to plan ahead a bit more?
@@TPBurrow this should be the wake up call to the rest of the cons and the mainstream as to how popular crit role is and going to become.
Does anybody remember what episode that was about the t-shirts?
Wow thats going back a bit. It was about S1 Ep 15 I think, But its not easy to find now, as the uploads are different to the live streams
Dear critical role I think I speak on behalf of all of us that you are worth at least a thousand percent of what you ask for if not more
So lets get them to 1,000 percent funded
@@sirtuna8066 don't do that you'll send Mathew into hysterics!!!! Also this Thursday is going to be a treat 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for making this because I definitely missed the announcement. Time to give them all my money. I hope they realize the only stretch goal I want is more animated critical role. This is a kickstarter that I don’t need secondary goals for.
Raise it to 10 million
That has been a part of a few of the stretch goals! If I'm not mistaken we hit 88 minutes of animation at $3M and now it's over $4M so I'd guess we're probly up to at least 110 minutes, maybe even over 2 hours.
So far the stretch goals got us 44 more minutes of animated critical role
@@ssfbob456 66*
Josh Gislason 11 million and a full series bitches :)
5:04 That freaking noise Matt makes. It just warms my heart. I mean think about it. You make up a world for your friends to play in. Now you get a chance to talk to a creative department about it. That's fucking nuts dude.
$3,939,660 as of this post..... wow.... just .. wow....
I feel like if I go peek it might hit 4....
Add another casual 40k in 40 more minutes aswell
I was wrong, it's about to slam into $6,000,000!!!!!
tauIrrydah Jesus
It just past $4,000,000!!!
Mercer: we need 750k for the animation series.
Critters: hold my beer.
the saddest moment, I wanted to pledge, but can't, since I do not own a credit card. *cries in young adult*
I had a slightly different problem. I want to pledge, I already have an account on Kickstarter... what I'm missing is an income... :(
If you are a young adult with a job in the us take 20$ and buy a prepaid credit card a visa and use that, so you aren't using anyone else's card. But yes talk to your parents because they might do that for you. :)
aaand a fellow student offered to use his card, problem solved, and about the thing, I have no true need for one yet, problem solved
For anyone seeing this around my time,
As of the 11th of June 2020 the kickstarter is now at $11,385,449 / the $750,000 goal
Unlike other kickstarters, we trust you because you have a history of doing what you promise. Congrats on 4 million!!!!!!
I love making Matt do that terrified, laughing "what???"
Critical Role staff and crew spend weeks preping for kickstarter with an ingenious wall contraption showing the stretch goals and planning to make a big display as each is reached.
Critters: We would like to rage-pay
Wall: is obliterated in hours
Crit Role team: stunned in joy, surprise and they now have to come up with new stretch goals and maybe some more supporter tiers.
Hahaha. "rage-pay" nice
Hours? That wall was destroyed in 45 minutes
The highest supporter tiers still haven't been filled
Joe Mamone Well yeah that’s 25k!!! I’m shocked the 1k, 2.5k and 5k all sold out! They even have people who took up the 10k and 20k like...this is just for an animation WHAT IN THE HELL IS HAPPENING????
@@blackvial well the wall represented all the stretch goals as well, and those weren't all fulfilled until about the 3 hour mark.
I've said this on a few twitter comments....
You guys deserve this! You have given all of us so much over the years. You have devoted your time and energy to sharing your game, and your story with us.
This is us giving back to the cast and crew that have given all of us so much.
"They were always beside you. Your nerdy best friends and your GM to guide you"
That is us...the nerdy friends.
Did somebody bring Onions in here?
I'm not crying you're crying
Maybe now us Europeans and Asian and general International Critters will be able to get some real (time) love as well? Don't get me wrong - no hating the East- or the Westcoast here - but as you can obviously see now: We do exsist... :) #CRWorldtour
Also, south American critters want love too ;-;
Shout out from Tbilisi! #CRWorldtour
@@Muricata I realised that as well. Hence the "international Critters" part. We are - as we have heard from a very kind and gentle giant - legion after all. :)
Yes. We are here! We are here! We are here!
Sam Watson I need this, don’t care if it’s fan made or not I need this
Love this idea
All of this, except replace the "clear ringing" with Matt's shitty horn noises from the City of Brass arc.
All I hear is happy Vex sounds because she gets money.
That campaign took "That escalated quickly" to a different level
I. WANT. A COOKING SHOW. With Taliesin and... hmm... Laura? What do you all think? I want to learn stuff from them! Especially food that shows up in D&D-type campaigns
Itd be cool too if they did it in character, with cosplay, just a thought

@@curtisholsinger6023 I'd love to bring Vox Machina in a version too, like say, Grog and Vax bickering while trying to cook GoFiBePo

Its been fun to watch, I am glad we all made it here safely, its been a bumpy old road, but the company is nice and the scenery amazing:)
Oooh! I just thought of another thing to add to a stretch goal. An extended version of "Your Turn to Roll".
OMFG YES, i need that, i heavily need that!!
My sister pledged $20 in my honor for my birthday. I'm so happy!

"I DIDNT THINK ABOUT THAT. AAAAHHHHHH."
4.33 Million in 24 hours. They've only got stretch goals up to $3,000,000. At this point the community is literally saying "I have no idea what they're going to do with my money but I want them to have it"
That is a crazy amount of trust, and they've earned every bit of it.
We love you guys too
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaas :)
WE ARE LEGION!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stretch Goal: Five million and you bring Mollymauk back.
Birdles Animations Honestly I’d be okay with him as an antagonist too. I just want him back
If he comes back, it better be as a villain under the DMs control. The character died, and I think Taliesin himself is content with that for himself. Think Lady Sariel from MCDM
obviously its a bit late but that would be amazing

What blows my mind is that out of all the backers more than half of them donated $100 or more... where can you find fans like that?!?
Love you fellow Critters!!!
You guys can’t put something like VM VS MN and NOT expect us critters to break the bank!
That moment in time when the Internet collectively said, "Listen up, you're gonna do this no matter what happens."
Matt realising they can show older campaigns: "Ahg, I can see forever!!"
This is awsome😂
Here’s what happens when creativity is rewarded. Millennials don’t kill everything
Now if only we could all get out and vote for a political candidate who deserved recognition, unlike whoever the two parties attempts to shove down our throats... then maybe millennials would have more say in the doings of the country. This kind of thing, but there...
Tyler Peacock, I am right there with you with the “sick of both parties”
Watching this Video at the End of the campaign where they’ve managed to raise (as of me writing this comment) over $10,000,000 or 1362% of the original goal, is even more surreal and Hilarious, especially Travis’ jokes about stretch goals.
To give context/clarity for those not familiar with how the Legend of Vox Machina (LoVM) Kickstarter project went, yet found their way here... *:)*
1.) *_Initial Projections & Goals (Kickstarter announcement: 03/04/2019)..._*
- a.) The (initial) goal would be to produce a Stand Alone, 22 minutes long, Animated Short with no commercials (this was *NOT* a LoVM episode), featuring the Vox Machina group at roughly level 06-07.
2.) *_Kickstarter Results (ended 04/19/2019)..._*
- a.) The base goal of $750,000 USD was reached *_UNDER 60 MINUTES_* of the LoVM Kickstarter going active.
[(6:10) - *Side-Note:* Travis is afraid of pitch-black darkness.]
- d.) By the end of the 45-day Kickstarter period, the funds totaled *$11,385,449 USD.*
- e.) The LoVM Kickstarter holds the record (as of 2022) as one of the most quickly funded in Kickstarter history, and the most funded Kickstarter for TV and film projects.
I very much want to see Jester Lavorre brought fully to animation life. *:)*
Thanks for uploading this, *TP Burrow.* :)
Well I have some news for you
@@themoviecritic1092 ~ Yes, I am aware of *[Critical Role Campaign #2 - The Mighty Nein (2018-2021)]* (M9) being approved for a multi-season contract/deal by Amazon Studios. My initial Comment is many months old, after all. *;)*
But it is even more than that, for both Good and Evil...
2.) *_Evil_** ~* However, the M9 animated series not a guarantee of production turnout either... *:(*
Time will tell how this develops and turns out...

Matthew Mercer's "AAAAHHHH!" at 5:07 makes me feel better as a human being; that level of excitement and creativity is just wonderful
I don't know... I mean, a bunch of nat 20's can achieve a lot! So maybe the name should be changed from "critters" to "crits"! ;)
I’m pretty sure Bertrand was either a Champion or Samurai Fighter
Unfortunately, Kingdom Death Monster beats fastest by a whooping 19mins. But we’re definitely 2nd!
I like to think that Bertrand didn't even have a subclass. That's how full of himself he was.
I'm from the future: the VM vs MN definitely happened and was awesome
You teased us with an animated special, but I'm sure all of us fans want a whole series. I know I'm not the only one thinking about it, but would you dare?
