Sonic Mania just got a PSP port !

- Hey guys, in this video I'll be checking out the new Sonic Mania port for Sony PSP.
Never would've anyone though this game could run on the PSP, but here it is !
NOTE:
This game is not compatible with the PSP 1000 due to the lack of enough ram.
We'll probably get future updates with sound implemented 🤞🏻.
Also it was reported that the game could glitch with overclocking, so it's better to run it at stock speed.

@@pspmavDoesnt work for me I tried computer and my iphone but it wasnt able to open the themes
i can see thart the game is running faster than it supposed to be in the main game so that means ur running it overclocked and that breakes the dropdash function
also that might be the greatest video u'v ever created cuz i loved the editing and thx for taking notes from me in the discord server!
No, the game is really fast and it is not overclocked because I tested the game on the PSP and yes it runs. The problem is because it is very fast it is almost impossible to play the first phase.
@SlashTheMurderDrone thank you for the tips and the feedback regarding my editing, I tried to make it look better, and I'm happy someone pointed it out.
But I'm not running it overclocked, it's probably the optimised version running faster than the original release

Woah nice, how did you manage the special stages?
@pspmav Look, this is a port from PC. And there was a bug in the PC version, that if you press one button, then in a special stage you immediately accelerate without spheres. The same bug remained on psp, in a special stage you need to press triangle. And you just carefully run to the spheres and that's it. It was hard, but quite possible, but without a bug it is impossible.

@JimDaGreat You are great, of course, but I remind you that on the PSP version, special stages are played at a very slow speed and at 5 fps. Without this glitch, it is very inconvenient and painful to pass special stages on the PSP. Well, if you want to feel pain and not get pleasure from the PSP port, then you can play without the glitch.
We all know that psp homebrew is just a fancy way of saying mobile ports on steroids
Hopefully the port receives more improvements!

Aren’t they too demanding for the psp?
It's really cool, but I don't think they will be able to fix low FPS in the UFO Stages. Afterall PS Vita port od Sonic Mania also has that issue.
On the Vita, the only times the game slows down in the 2D sections is when the fire and fog effects are present in some levels, so I guess it would be simmilar on PSP

The port for the Nintendo Wii also suffered from slowness in the bonus phase, but they partially corrected the problem in the newer builds. Would it be possible to port this fix to the PSP as well?

@oshry4154 yes most probably. PSP 1000 has half the ram of other models, so it's probably crashing

I have a 3004 model, with ARK4 CFW, do you know what could be wrong ?
whenever i put the files into my psp, there's a corrupted file on the home menu, and whenever i boot into sonic mania, it shows a black screen for a moment before turning off my psp.

Se esta haciendo un port para la Sega Dreamcast. Y por ahora va bastante bien. Es uno de los mayores milagros tecnicos q he visto en la historia del gaming. Pasar un juego q pide 2 GB de RAM (por las fases especiales 3D y requisitos del renderizado por software + efectos visuales del juego) a una consola con solo 16 MB de RAM. El port para Dreamcast será increíble cuando salga. Por ende, si en DC (una consola de 1998) funciona, en PS2 q es ligeramente mas potente, también deberia funcionar (obviamente optimizando el juego para q corra en la arquitectura de play 2, q siempre ha sido difícil de programar)

Is that a custom psp shell or an official special edition psp cause i noticed that it's matte black
@@j4rock966 it's not just black, it's rubberized as well, got concave analogue sticks , back grips and much more.
It's an aftermarket shell, but the design is an official special edition called the "monster hunter PSP 3000"

@@EngiNetion plugins dont work, and lots of compatibility issues. Its a poorly made cfw. The only reason people know about it is reddit posts then they started making youtube video’s. Its just a bad cfw. All i see is people with problems. 6.61 pro c was made to be the final firmware from the community. Until some kids made ark 4

psp street 1004 is already working for me, I installed it wrong, psp street 1004 is the European version that came out as the last of all psp and everything works without problems just without sound

hey psp mav can you help me, I would like to install custom themes on my psp but I'm using ark 4-live and I haven't been able to find a guide that makes sense, also and the one I care more is how to use Rockband unplugged dlc from cdromance I have it downloaded and it shows but non of the actual dlc gets applied, anyhow thank you for the guides.
yo make sure you put it into the PSP/GAME folder instead of PSP/savedata, was also having the same issue with the rockband dlc before, hope this helps

No se entiende q Sonic Mania sea incompatible con el modelo de PSP 1000, si ahora está por salir un port de Sonic Mania para la Sega Dreamcast, q es aún más vieja q la PS2 y PSP 1000.

Why not just play the Android port? It'll run way better and the process is almost the exact same
