I can relate so much! Great job going over a year! I feel like I obsessed so much over scrolling book outlet when I first found it. Since the inventory was constantly changing I was afraid of missing out on the good ones. And made way too many orders to keep up with reading. 😂 I took a good long break too. Although I do find read alouds enjoyable I have found it tricky for my family to stay engaged listening. I found the best way for us was to snuggle and read at bedtime. They are most excited to sit and listen well then. Even if it was a literature book for a subject like history, I usually save it for then!
Yes! I spent so much time just scrolling through the "new" section and anything that looked good, I added to my cart. Now, my purchases will be intentional and thought out (with maybe the occasional "this looks good" 😅), That's a great idea! I'm glad you found something that works best for you and your kiddos!
At one point I had over 600 books! I finally decided enough was enough and sold off a ton! Now I am using that money to "smartly" by used books for our shelves, more tailored to my kids interests, instead of just having books to have them.
I'm watching this 5 minutes after I made a completely unnecessary thriftbooks order 😬. It felt like gluttony. Perhaps I'll set a challenge for myself not to buy anything homeschool related until after Christmas (I don't think I can go a whole year). The Wind in the Willows was a very heavy book for us. Did you get an abridged copy?
My daughter and I are reading the wayside story books! They were some of my favorites as a kid and there’s a new one!
"The temptation is always there." SO TRUE!!!!!
Yes!
The Train to Impossible Places looks so cute!

We read Vanderbeekers book 1 this past year and loved it. Hope you enjoy, too!!!!
I'm late to the party, but I'll get there! 😂
We love The Vanderbeekers.
I think we will too!

Great job! Sometimes we just have to step back and reassess!

It can be hard to resist the temptation, but that sounds like a great goal! Yes, I did get an abridged version.
