This showcases the best use of her unique tone. In other songs she tends to sound too nasal, even going a little flat at times. This composition and production allows her to stay away from those nasal tendencies as it uses more of her softer, more breathy vocal delivery.
I also love that the song isn't the typical commercial Top 40 song. The melody isn't too accessible and takes a few listens to really follow, but that's also why it sounds more like an organic expression of her talents rather than an obvious attempt at making a hit song.
It's elegant, lovely and even relaxing.

Aight! As someone TRYING to understand music produuction, I thoroughly enjoyed this song. Here's why:
The dreamy lofi vibe (without much of the lofi noise) and that beat dropped on the chorus both create that "fairy light atmosphere" that I can only liken to drinking tea on a rainy day, while cuddled comfortably in your sweatpants enjoying the window view. Up until the second chorus, that ambience was carried through. It's like she was daydreaming what could the listener feel and why aren't they expressing it, somehow doubting if what she thought may not be real to a point that the chorus always sounds a bit frustrated (cue the beats).
Then the bridge came. You know how one has just snapped out of their whimsical daydream, and for just one suspended moment, everything's quiet and subdued -- this was the great build up to the catharsis of her reality (i.e. that while she acknowledges her insecurity within the relationship, the listener should still make it a point to express their love for her to somehow erase her doubts). The last chorus didn't hold back, as if she was starting to DEMAND for the listener to 'say it!' (as one will notice less of the falsetto/head but more mixed/chest on the high parts).
But of course, that's just me. ✌️😅
Yesss!!! This is my type and kind of music to listen to. It has an old school rnb and soul vibes in it. Great job, Cat! It's addicting y'know hahaha. Keep making music. I fully support you with it.
