Sweet Diane, when you started to choke up, I got verklept! I love how real you are, your warmth and kindness 🌞, adventurous spirit, your love of nature and the sea 🏊♀️ , and wee soft spot for squirrels 🐿, ha,ha! I'm 68 and many of my college friends are now gone. It's hard not to think of one's mortality at my age, but I try to focus on the positive and take comfort in the little things. "Living hyggelig" definitely helps. Carpe diem, my friend! 🕯🌷🐿
Near the end of her earthly life, my dear mother and I were having a very sweet conversation and I asked her to share her regrets and she said the oddest thing - she said I’m sorry that I saved the good towels for company when I should have used them for you. You meant more to me and were more deserving of the best things. I consider the wisdom of her words quite often. Your video today brought that back to mind and I felt a little weepy myself. 💝🦋
This vid was a blessing, from beginning to end. And I teared up right along with you Diane... my dear mom was gone at 56 and dad at 35. I'm 51 and started getting depressed last yr after my 50th. But after a many months was able to start to looking at life/things in a whole new light and make the best of every day and look outward more than inward. It's been so good for me, my family, friends and even strangers... just wish I hadn't waited so long to figure it out! Not quite "living like there's no tmrw yet" but NOT moping around like my life is over either! For many yrs the FlyLady system has helped to keep my home and life in order but please know that your positive attitude and videos have helped me tremendously! You are a ray of "type 1" sunshine:) Thank you Diane.

Yesterday & today's videos struck me more than usual to get going & try to up the ante a little. ⚡ Your formula for us each to adapt the fly lady system to our lives works. I'm a very slow motion model of your energy due to health restrictions yet I do my morning & evening routines adapted to me as well as weekly home blessings. ☀️
I've been taking shoes off to come in the house for over 40+ years. Still my morning routine has me cleaning entry zone day. I do clean my fur baby's feet after each walk yet dust & bits of grass come in. It's second nature now. The biggest encouragement you give us is to adapt system to our lifestyles and you lead by a bright example, thank you!! I screech at the thought of you girls dipping into the cold sea! 🏊♂️

What a dear, caring person you are, Diane! You make my day with your humor and encouragement. 😊 I keep forgetting to wear my Fitbit--will have to make it a point to do so. Now that I've gotten into a bit of a routine with some exercise, I am feeling so much better and have more energy.🚴♀️🏃♀️💪 I am by no means ready for a marathon, but it's all about the small steps toward a healthier mind and body. Your tips for cleaning and organizing have made those things so much easier. And, dare I say, a bit fun! 😉

Hi Diane I must have really smartened myself up, I’ve been putting out my outfits for the next day and yesterday when I came down for breakfast my husband said “ where are you off today “ “ no where” I said !!! I do feel it makes a huge difference to how you feel and how it improves your day xx

We've always danced in the kitchen around here, but thanks to your videos, my family enjoys eating off "the good china" whenever we feel like it, we almost always light candles, and, just within the last week or so, I've been dressing up in my (thrifted ;-) T1 finds, too! Just like sometime else mentioned in the comments todays video made me cry and laugh at the same time... :) I am quite new to flylady and these videos are so helpful. On the second day of the exercise challenge i finally enrolled for a dance class which i was putting of for so long.

Love your thrifted jacket. Really looks great on you. I scored a pair of brand new Garbor dress sandals for $5.00 over Easter at a thrift store. I don’t normally look at the shoes but I was with a friend who had just told me about her great shoe find. Pays to look.

Hi Diane, It is wonderful to go over the fly lady basics again. I am so happy I found fly lady because I was an over-cleaner. I spent way too much time cleaning. Doing this I have become so much more positive about cleaning my house. I love watching how many steps I get when I vacuum. I love my fit bit. I usually get about 3,000 steps just vacuuming. Another way I get oodles of steps is mowing the lawn - wow. I spy a wee tomato plant on the window sill. :) Happy Mother's Day Diane! :) xxx Becki

this is something I already do! I cann't live without my agenda, I like to have everything written down so it doesn't depend on my memory capacity. I start a new every year and this is something that I looooveeeee!!! It's so helpful!! I prefer a paper one because I like to personalize it a lot. Thank you for some new tips to add to my plannification.
Your videos have been helping me stay focused and get so much more done by doing a little at a time. Also your messages help me to do something when I don’t want to do anything! Once I start the something it is so rewarding because a few minutes here and there leads to completion of a project without exhaustion. I am doing the timer method for decluttering, cleaning and organizing and it works so well with so much less stress. Thanks for your excellent, positive and fun videos. I have them on in the background when cooking and cleaning and they keep me motivated. It’s like working alongside a friend.

I feel like I'm missing something w "free day", and I realize I have forgotten what is fun or how to have fun? Date night is usually a catastrophe, not fun! Probably due to the multiple deaths in our family this year, our fun is heading to a funeral for a great Aunt this mother's day weekend! I teared up w you!

Thank you dear Diane! You encourage me to live my T1 life with more fun. :-) I used to hate cleaning because I got bored quickly and I always had a bad conscience that I let myself be distracted. Also in Switzerland we do not wear shoes in the house. I also do not have dogs and cats. So I will clean the wooden floors in the future in the zone! juhuu!! More time for fun!

Morning routine was done yesterday and then, Bam!! The "wee pup"🐕 got sick and that led to a bath for him and shampooing the carpet. Which led to vacuuming the whole house except for DD18's room and doing an extra load of laundry from the pup. Which made my "change sheets" task a bit longer to get completed. I was feeling down so I made DH his favorite pie to put some cheer into the day! Got my Mom's mother's day gift ordered and some calls made...By dinnertime, I was beat so DH made dinner. I didn't get the 7 min app workout in and was beating myself up about it bc I had missed the gym, too. Then, this a.m I thought, "The get out of jail free card!!" You know I had lost my balance yesterday and had been stressed bc of it. But!! I had went to bed with a clean kitchen and shiny sink. And thanks to you, "get out of jail free" saved my sanity. (( Hugs)) Love your dots and T1 pink😊 "You can turn anything around and make a good thing out of it." Thank YOU for that reminder, Diane.
So sorry your pup was poorly. Give yourself credit for getting in all those fitness steps and lifting. You were "cross-training."

Another great video Diane. Planning to play is so good for us. Flylady system gives definitely gives us more time. We have to make the most of our life. I have some lovely hanging baskets and pots and we are spending some enjoyable time in the garden here . Is that a tomato plant on your windowsill? It looks fab. I love it. I have one tomato plant outside with just one flower on it so far. I also just planted some lettuce and celery in pots and sown some spinach. I put my swimming costume on again today but the sea is just too wild again so we walked to the coffee shop and am enjoying an iced mocha whilst watching your video. Have a wonderful day. Your mom is lucky, she gets two Mother's Days a year! I normally plan things between 30 mins- an hour, depending on what needs planned. On Sunday's I do my week's planning for an hour in my Happy Planner. Besides work, I don't have pressing matters to deal with, so I simply do a top 3 for each day and then decide what to do with the rest of my day after the top 3 are completed.

Good day to you Diane, I had to chuckle when you mentioned the Avengers film. I was wondering if you had seen it :). I went with my DD12. She thought it was brilliant. I am not quite sharing that enthusiasm. I found it rather depressing for most parts, I was not sure about the story line. Thor as a slob? and it was soooooo long.... anyways. I am so glad I found your channel. I have finely gotten an organized and sensible way of cleaning and the result of it is sooo much more free time which I now spend with friends and family and all the things I thought I did not have the time for because I had to do some cleaning. Three cheers to you!

Yes!!!! I thought it was a real case of "too many cooks spoil the broth". So many characters in there but not really much happening! LOL! I quite enjoyed "Infinity Wars" but perhaps that's because part of it was filmed in my hometown, Edinburgh :-)

I have a custom made planner (ordered from personalplanner.com in Sweden) where you can fill out birthdays and anniversaries ahead of time, which helps. I go through my planner every month to see what's going on. Right now I'm looking forward to Eurovision next week. ;) Anything to do with family I highlight in orange, as I am Dutch (living in the UK) and that's our national colour. I also put reminders to send cards in time. Have you seen the trailer for the new Spiderman film yet? So looking forward to that one, he is my fave. Thanks for another great video, even the little tear at the end.
