Truly a phenomenal actor! I don’t get emotional easily but towards the end of the movie where he grabs that injured female copilot and keeps telling her “I’m sorry!!! It’s ok... Your not alone..” I just couldn’t keep my eyes dry and you just have yourself a new fan, Mr. Mads. By the way, Big thumb up to Joe Penna for directing such an incredible story of human survival spirit.
I ADORED this film. I am PAINED that it didn't get more attention. I felt *every moment*. I just KNEW what Mads was thinking. He didn't have to say a word. I think my favorite moment was when he was laying the woman down, and you could see how he felt her weight against him, like a child that you're holding who completely gives in and relaxes against you, and you see his face and KNOW that he so DESPERATE for human contact, a hug, but knows he needs to lay her down. It was. HEARTbreaking. This is one of my favorite films. But that ENDING- killed me, man. I need closure!!!
Just watched this on SBS Australia. Sooo intense. My heart was in my mouth for most of the film. Mads is a fantastic actor. I highly recommend this film.
I watched it last night. The tension was overpowering. Mads' performance quietly great. I was totally immersed, pulling for him. The ending pops the ballon.
Explorer Larson did a review of the film and thought it was mostly accurate. I am a winter survivalist as well and I have to agree the plane needed to be buried in snow and Mads should have stayed in a smaller area of the downed plane to help conserve his heat. Larson didn't mention anything about Mads' snow cave he dug out for survival. I have dug out lots of these and the snow cave in the movie was way too large. Mads would have been sharing body heat with the female in the cave in real life instead of having a large open cave. The other issue would be the number of calories Mads would have to burn in building such a cave. Snow caves are not easy to build and you burn tons of calories making one. I was touched by the movie and it brought back memories for me from miserable trips I have been on. I personally believe most of survival is 99 percent in your head and Mads had a good drive to survive. He also was compassionate for the woman and he was willing to risk his life to save her. Let's not forget she and her pilot risked their lives to save Mads and it didn't pan out for them. I agree with Larson that I would have been fishing most of the day to build up the food supply. I don't know that I would have left the plane to find help which generally is a big no no. You stay at your location. But in this case I felt Mads wanted to save the woman's life and he figured staying with the downed airplane would cost her her life and so he took the big risk by moving on. I can't judge him harshly for that decision. A very good movie that is very realistic for the most part. Mads said few cuss words unlike what I would have said had I been in his shoes.
Just watched it on Netflix… Damn dude… talk about an excruciating roller coaster of emotions while watching this film. At the end, I was about to hate it, but then I didn’t.

It's a remarkable film, great performance by Mads and excellent debut for the first time director.

Best movie I’ve seen in a long time. Wish I’d known about it sooner.
It's one of the best films I've ever seen. Awesome.
I would have loved to see the film in theaters. Unfortunately i was only able to see it 4 years after on Netflix after finding it.
I kinda hate that this movie didn't get that much attention.
I actually loved the film, now excuse me while I die over Mads cuteness
Just watched it on Netflix… Damn dude… talk about an excruciating roller coaster of emotions while watching this film.

Those who watch the grey .its must end like this . .
I love this movie so much
Did they die in the end???
Nope ❤
How could they die if they did this interview?? Hmmm. Hahaha. Jk
Loved it. But what the hell was Mads doing with that damn device he kept winding up?
Trying to get a connection to contact others.
Black box
“Did i stumble into some bad lighting, or something?”
“UHm, hello?”
Hannibal!!! Bring back Hannibal!!
I sow the movie but I don’t like the ending as I want to see what is going to happen when he returns to the house
They Died Right There In The Snow :(
I don’t think so, there was a helicopter that landed right behind them at the very end.
@@ellw7830 yeah i know but 2 minutes too late
;( or maybe not ;)
@@Onb3k3nd3 yeah there was some ambivalence... BUT I MUST BELIEVE
So does everybody think that they died??? It sure looked like it even though the helicopter arrived at the same time...
Whistler? Of course it would have been over budget! They should have considered Newfoundland ;)

Mads is a top alpha. Manly film about being manly.
Gillette doesn't approve this.
You're a moron and Mads ...a very manly, yet REAL MAN wouldn't approve of your petty bullshit
