I bought a copy of大山の 実戦詰め将棋 from SOGO the other month, really had a lot of fun playing with those puzzles. Been reading something about Ooyama online, said that he's also an expert in chu shogi中将棋, but from all the games that i saw online(including this and another showing him against 羽生 a 5 dan), he all lost. Not sure if it's because he is so strong that he seldom lost that whatever game in which he lost immediately became the focus of attention?

Im just a beginner and dont undrrstand much of how to strategize like that but this is entertaining to be honest

anyone care to explain the move "pawn drop to 3c" on 8:41 ?
The pawn is attacking the rook on b3 and stoping the rooks protection to the gold, which can be taken by the d2 gold
