I think your meal prep was great! I can't believe how well you did on that budget! Of course, when you generally cut meat out of your diet, it's usually much less expensive to plan your menu! I would suggest, however, to pair your entrees with a side salad or some veg .... to "bulk out' the food and make you feel like it's more of a proper meal. Think about when you go to a restaurant ... you generally don't just get a bowl of pasta ... you also usually get soup or a salad, some bread, etc. Your b'fast burritos looked great, but maybe try some salsa or pico de gallo on top of them for added flavor and to counteract the "surface dryness." There are some lovely avocado salsas too ... but they may have dairy in ... I'm sure you could come up with something!
Sherry Ann £25 is $50 AUD for that much I could’ve bought some sort of meat for the week too and egg, she did well but also could’ve chosen some other items too.
I actually really like that the Corona situation isn't mentioned. I'm surrounded by it 24/7 due to my work and school situation, so it's actually really nice watching a new video of you that didn't mention Corona! Also I've been watching lots of your old vlogs and really old fleurdeforce vlogs just to distract haha!

This was actually so helpful! I'm vegan and often limit myself to £25/30 a week on food. I'm so inspired to try the bircher muesli and the quinoa bowl so thank you!
love this so much! Meal prep really helps keep costs down, and it's less wasteful if you can use things for multiple dishes! Helpful tip: flash freezing fresh fruit (and sometimes veg) is cheaper than buying frozen packs. I have been freezing lemon slices like crazy, and all the peppers and strawberries that were about to go bad in my fridge, just trying to be less wasteful
You can make non-gloopy porridge on the stovetop, too. You just have to be careful about the water to oats ratio, and take it off the heat as soon as you add the oats to let it sit for awhile. :) I don’t like the gloopy either so this is how I always do oats
Meal planning, shopping, and prepping when you've just eaten is key. 👌 When there's not a pandemic, I normally meal prep for three households plus mine on the weekend. Not being hungry is so helpful, and the other part is just practice so you get faster over time.

Popping on to say how much I love your videos. So nice to watch you and your sweet spirit uplifts me so much while we’re all going through this crazy time. God bless you guys. Stay healthy 💜
i love the way you did this! including all spices etc in the cost meant if someone where to recreate this, they'd be likely to spend less than you! lots of budgety meal prep videos measure 'cost per serving', meaning that recreating it would be more expensive cuz you can't buy single servings (e.g. half an onion, pinch of cumin) in the shops
That’s my favourite pasta recipe and I do it every week using different veg. I use the dried sun dried tomatoes and just soak them in water for 10mins beforehand. Ooh you could’ve made hummus with the beans for your tortilla chips ...
Bircher muesli is typically eaten in Switzerland. I used to eat it a lot as a child, It's very nutritious and filling. You cn put whatever you want with seasonal fruits like pears, apples but also peaches or mixed berries etc. It's usually oats, milk (plant based for me and you), nuts and fruits. It's super good and also travel-friendly.
I am super grateful I just found a 12 pack of toilet paper in my closet I didn't know I had :) Also, the Grackster is uploading like a maniac so there's a bonus.
Everything you made looks so good. I've just made the mushroom pasta. And it was really delicious! I replaced the coconut milk with soya milk and soya cuisine and added lemon juice to serve, which made it even better!
I really enjoyed this video. Like you - I'm a bit fickle. For me, making a few meals and then eating them all week just doesn't work. What DOES work for me is meal prepping but freezing the majority of it. In no time at all, I've got a huge variety in my freezer, and I can grab whatever I"m in the mood for. It keeps me from getting bored, everything is homemade, and the ingredients don't go to waste.
Absolutely loved this! This is something i suggested fom your last video of the pre-paid meal prep. You've done a fantastic job and it gives people an idea of what they can do on a lower budget plus gives people the opportunities to switch out items/recipes to their own tastes or even make it more budget friendly. Thank you for doing this video!! I love how you listen to your subscribers/viewers ideas and it's great to see you actually enjoying doing the videos too!
Meal prep is the literal best thing for lunches and dinners if you're working a lot or at uni. I get so tired by the time I get home from school that I just don't feel like cooking and go eat some junk. Meal prepping makes me eat much healthier then I would and I have no excuses because I know I have a good meal waiting for me. Not to say I don't snack, because I do, but I feel like that's most people unless you're on a strict diet, so don't feel too bad about the crisps. I think the main point of the meal prepping is to save time during the week and just have a healthy meal ready to go.
Absolutely LOVEEEEE your videos!!! Sooo down to earth and soo yourself it's like a breath of fresh air!!! Going to be incorporating these meals to my weekly routine!!
As someone who works for the nhs i really do appreciate your daily uploads, just a couple of minutes to forget all the pressure and stress, Thank You Grace
THANK YOU for doing this budget challenge in a realistic way, and going out and buying all your ingredients. So many other videos use a ton of “pantry staples” that they don’t count 8n the budget, or they fudge the numbers (like, I used half a $1 can of beans therefore I made lunch for $0.50! When obv you can’t go to the store and buy half a can!). Ok, rant over 🙃 but thank you, love this!
This video couldn’t have come at a better time! You’re videoes really makes it easier to smile during this tense time :) thank you, stay safe and lot’s of love from Norway x
Grace, you're truly a blessing! I love your content and your whole personality so much! As a uni student who lives alone abroad, away from my home country i've got to say that meal prep saves so much time and so much energy which is used for other things in the day. I've been meaning to try this mushroom pasta recipe since the video where you made your subscribers' recipes for a week and now i'm definitely going to try it. And to close off, we do watch the debrief in the end of your videos! :)
This is awesome it would be perfect for a few elderly people if family preps it because i know, my sisters friend orders a meals and wheels for £8 for 2 meals and she loves it! Shops now are carnage but its a great video love to see you still uploading 💜❤️
I find it incredible that all the veg and fruit has soooo much plastic! Here in argentina the plastic wrapped veg is the freezed ones. Also you mostly buy at like the veg store lol don't know how to call it in english. Like how can every cucumber have a plastic wrapper? It blows My mind.
It's terrible! I'm Irish and luckily there's a plastic free veg shop in our town, we get a delivery every week with no plastic packaging it's so convenient, but whenever we have to shop in the supermarket everything is wrapped, and if it's not in packaging it's normally way more expensive (like a euro for a bell pepper) it's so bad
Melissa Alford Very understandable, Melissa! But wraped or not you should be thorouhgly washing ALL of your vegetables and fruit before consumtion (preferrably before storage whe possible). The one that comes in a plastic wrap also! I like to wash it even if I will peel before consumtion. Nasty stuff can survive for surprisingly long periods of time on any surface, it being viruses, pedticides or any form of contamination. Be safe! :)
Love your meals. And they are super well timed because of this virus. Here in Ottawa, Canada some grocery stores are grim thanks to the mass food hoarders. I have everything except the zucchini’s in my house. Thank you!
You haven’t given us a name, so I’m calling myself an unofficial Grackhead! Also your video really cheered me up after this whole GCSE and A Level stuff. Thanks !
LOVED this video! Makes me miss the English supermarkets, so much cheaper than here in Belgium and the quality of everything is soo much better. But of course right now there won't be anything left, people are crazy 🤪
Zineb Yazami true! When I moved to the UK from the Netherlands everyone was warning me how expensive food was going to be especially with the currency conversion but it’s honestly cheaper than back in NL :)

I loved this video. Gave me some great ideas to make for my vegan daughters so there is always food on hand. Love all your videos and your positive thoughts Grace. Thank you.😊
Nice to hear you calling in bircher, not overnight oats like everyone seems to call it these days! I've been eating bircher since I was a kid and still enjoy it now, but my housemates had never heard of it!
I know I’m late to the game with you. But I really loved this video. And all your videos. I’ve been in a funk with cooking lately and this is inspiring me to meal prep again.
You could make energy balls/bites with those oats, honey and peanut butter! Add other items if you want ( seeds, nuts, chocolate chips, raisins) they also freeze great! There are so many different variations and recipes online.
Meal prep is perfect since we are in Coronavirus era and only shopping one day a week. I had to stop your video and make the museli! Mine has a few substitutions: chopped walnuts, maple syrup (instead of brown sugar), a heaping tablespoon each flax meal and chia seeds. All items l have on hand. I’m all set for some healthy snacking or a quick meal. Now to go watch the rest of the video. 👍😍
Can you do more of these theyre amazing and so useful for people who dont usually meal plan but are having to because they cant go shopping every other day
Hey grace :) for the bircher: you should try either add shredded apple (but you may not like the consistency) or a sliced apple on top. The crunch factor from the fresh apple won my husband over and he has the same feelings around oat texture as you :)
I’m so shocked you can get so much for so little! In AUD it’s 49.96 and I can tell you, you would not be able to get that much! It’s so funny how different countries can be with pricing. This is definitely a budget shop, well done!
Yeah- it all has to do with the exchange rate. What might be "cheap" for someone in one country (aka $20usa or 25pounds) might be a different number for someone else. I am sure that if you REALLY got creative, you could find 25aud worth of groceries, but you'd probably be eating ramen/instant noodles and cheap-o hot dogs mostly.... But maybe 50aud is "cheap" for you, so instead of doing a 25aud challenge for yourself, do a 50aud challenge. If that makes sense. Unless for Australians, 50aud is actually quite expensive for them, too..... That's like when chinese or japanese people say 1000yuan or 1000yen, you're like OMG!!! but really, they mean like (I'm making this up, cuz I can't be bothered to check real quick) $10usa and then you're like oh.... yeah.... 1000yuan/1000yen isn't toooo bad. But maybe for them, 1000yuan/yen really is a lot and things over there cost 5yuan/yen and you're like OMG a bowl of REAL ramen soup for 5cents USA? Yes please!! So, in short, you just have to make this challenge what is reasonable for you. If that makes ANY sense at all....
We're also having a rough time because the summer crops burned and the autumn crops weren't able to be planted in some cases (cauliflower is $10aud per kilo).
@@JB-vd8bi broccoli is $14/kg where I am in Aus! It's insane. I've got 2 kids and its getting harder to find meals to feed them, especially with coles and Woolies being empty and the restrictions on foods. A $50 shop wouldn't last us a week.
Hahaha firstly yes love a debrief 😉 and secondly loved your comment about when you craving something you must have it regardless of meals pre prepped and gurl yass🙌🏻 I am the same! One day I’ll be loving a meal and then I’ll make double assuming I’ll love it the next day and then boom a craving hits and the prepped meal is then despised as I have to eat it but don’t want to arghhhh and I mean it’s a good meal - it shouldn’t take it personally but I will just not be able to get it down my throat🤢
Two things about the awesomeness that is Birchers muesli, it's great with small bits of chopped apple and mixed berry sauce and -------- number two, never eveeerrrr think a batch will be fantabulous with chocolate sauce, because you'll be grossly mistaken lol

Be safe! :)
@@aresm8890 Thank you for understanding! What do you use to wash them?
A helpful video as foods are no longer in such... abundance 😄😬 these videos will be so nice to watch during the coming weeks :) stay safe peoples!
You should do a day of speaking in an American accent, learning American slang and recording how your family responds!
And maybe make American food for a day?
America day on Grackle! Love the idea
Love your meals. And they are super well timed because of this virus. Here in Ottawa, Canada some grocery stores are grim thanks to the mass food hoarders. I have everything except the zucchini’s in my house. Thank you!
Lol the bircher muesli is cold porridge. ❤️😂 The fences are in your head 😂❤️🤗
Grackle vids in my sub box is exactly what I need to survive self isolating!🥴 thank the lord for you Grace!!❤️
Thanks for this helpful video and yes I listen to the debrief of course. You did great with the meal prep 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Oh my GOD ever since watching that one video I have also been obsessed with the creamy one pot mushroom pasta😍😍😍 ITS DIVINE
When the alarm rang I thought it was my phone, which is in front of me, I was so confused 😂
Montserrat Valverde Bustamante sameeeeee lol
I need and want to go to sleep but I can’t stop watching grackle videos
I just need a moment to appreciate how relatable Grackle is. Cooking? Yep. Family? Yep. Food shopping? Yep. Comfy clothes? Yep. More cooking? Yep.
Oh my god Aloha sprinklerinos😍😍 miss louises 2014 vlogs
All looked so good, defianly will try those recipes. Thank you Grace
Very healthy groceries. I have got lazy but that is my grocery shop when my kids were young
I swear groceries are so much cheaper in the UK. All of that would cost you at least 35/40€ here in France.
Zineb Yazami true! When I moved to the UK from the Netherlands everyone was warning me how expensive food was going to be especially with the currency conversion but it’s honestly cheaper than back in NL :)
I live in the US and that much food would have been at least $100
Shannon Flynn especially since she bought things like quinoa, damn people in the UK can eat healthy without barely spending anything
@@brightbluesummer3981 YES quinoa is so expensive here too
Mais, l’année dernière j’ai achèté presque les mêmes choses d’Auchan pour autour 30€
bircher muesli is great with grated apple, a little lemon and topped with yoghurt too!!
I love your videos and really appreciated these wonderful ideas.💕🥰 I think its amazing you are still uploading. Bless you. 🙏🏻🦋We all are working too in the ER Room of course we are desperately busy! Stay safe and healthy. We love you Grace!! PS. Your Dear family is so Blessed to be living with such a amazing chef/ baker! Great job keeping it so inexpensive!😍
YESSSS
You could make energy balls/bites with those oats, honey and peanut butter! Add other items if you want ( seeds, nuts, chocolate chips, raisins) they also freeze great! There are so many different variations and recipes online.
Thanks Grace for keeping us going through these bad times :D
Meal prep is perfect since we are in Coronavirus era and only shopping one day a week. I had to stop your video and make the museli! Mine has a few substitutions: chopped walnuts, maple syrup (instead of brown sugar), a heaping tablespoon each flax meal and chia seeds. All items l have on hand. I’m all set for some healthy snacking or a quick meal. Now to go watch the rest of the video. 👍😍
You've inspired me to get back into fun cooking,.. hooked!
Loving the content, hilarious at times but also brilliantly educational
Can you do more of these theyre amazing and so useful for people who dont usually meal plan but are having to because they cant go shopping every other day
Hey grace :) for the bircher: you should try either add shredded apple (but you may not like the consistency) or a sliced apple on top. The crunch factor from the fresh apple won my husband over and he has the same feelings around oat texture as you :)
Love it already! And I’m only at the intro 😂
Also tip for tortillas, warming them up a bit will make them easier to fold into burritos, etc.
love that this is all vegan- you should put 'vegan' in the title because they're always super popular videos! xx
I made the one pot mushroom pasta. My husband hates mushrooms and i hate sun dried tomatos. But we really really loved it. Gonna make it sunday
People still out here thinking plant based diets are expensive, great video Gracks!
That tortilla chip crunch was so satisfying
THAT alarm just triggered me 🙂 i loooovee bircher muesli IT LOOKED SO GOOOD
'Aloha sprinklerinos!'
Aah such a throwback to sprinkle of glitter!!❤️
Side note: REALLY loving your hair down!
Two things about the awesomeness that is Birchers muesli, it's great with small bits of chopped apple and mixed berry sauce and -------- number two, never eveeerrrr think a batch will be fantabulous with chocolate sauce, because you'll be grossly mistaken lol
