Our family favorite is Butterscotch Oatmeal Spice cookies, with a box Spice Cake preferred Betty Crocker. 1/2 cup soft butter, 1 C oats, 1 C butterscotch chips, tsp vanilla, opt 1/2 C Chocolate Chips, spice cake mix. Yep, these are the best.
For the last cake mix option, I melt the butter and add it a little at a time to the cake mix in a bowl and mix with a fork until a crumbly texture is achieved. Sprinkle cake/butter mixture on top of the pie filling. I also like to add a teaspoon of almond extract to cherry pie filling, mix well, and add a teaspoon to the butter after melting, before adding to the cake mix. Excellent!!!
I’m an inside person, of any kind of cake type dessert, hubby can have the edges! I love the idea of the pumpkin honey bun cake. I’ve made the regular one quite a few times, it’s also really good. Thanks for these easy and delicious recipes, Amber!
Another great and delicious recipe you can make with boxed cake mix is Cake mix Cookies. So sweet that your son helped you make these. I remember always being in the kitchen with my mom and grandmother.
From A - " I like brownies anywhere from the pan ", guy, this is a great recipe. 👍👍👍👍 THANK YOU !! I will try the Pumpkin recipe. Keep up the great job that you are doing. Having your son help you, will teach him to be self-reliant, & comfortable in the kitchen. Plus, when he has a family of his own, he will be a helpful husband & a teacher to his children. You Are A Great Mom !!!
The cakes look delicious. I love how your son is happy to help you. Brings back memories esp. when he twirled the cup of brown sugar, boys will be boys😁
I'm a corner/edge person. Made a pumpkin honey bun cake few weeks ago. My recipe was similar but, with few differences in ingredients. I used butter pecan cake mix (recipe suggested that or carrots or spice).Mine called for little buttermilk in batter. My strusal topping was brown sugar, nuts, little cinnamon and put on top and swirled into batter rather than layered. But both recipes very similar. I did the same with extra pumpkin, gave it to my dogs, lol. They love pumpkin.
Who knew that cake mix could become brownies. OMGOODNESS itooks delicious Amber. BTW. I made the foil dinners for my husband and me and delicious too. It reminded my of camping dinners.!!
This past weekend I made the apple crisp dessert with spice cake mix, however, I also added some cinnamon and then dried cranberries over the canned apples before adding the cake mix on top. Yum!
Thank you for all the wonderful recipes you bring to us. I have made this apple crisp recipe for several years and I use a spice cake mix. No need for the extra ingredient of cinnamon sugar. YUM!
I'm a edge person but really a corner piece person. Was in Heaven when the Brownie insert pan came out, YES!!!! This looks really good. Love your helper today.
@@FeedingtheByrds Sounds like a solid deal. Just what I need this time of the year, more chocolate and sugar. What a great place we live in, and also people willing to share!!!
I made that pumpkin cake for Thanksgiving! I used a spice cake mix instead of yellow because that's what I had on hand, but it was yuuuuumy! Also added some flour and melted butter to the brown sugar and walnut filling to make it a streusel filling instead. Big hit. Made a 15x9 pan (double recipe) and only have a small bit left lol
Your apple one, I have also made with and without the cinnamon but it definitely adds an added layer of flavor to the dessert so please to all that have never made it please add the cinnamon if you have it. I also do not melt my butter. I prefer to slice the butter very thin and layer it on top of the cake. I use a stick and half. I am 67 and I still tent camp. Recipes like this I have used for close to 15 years because the ingredients are easy to have on hand when camping. That is also why I love 7up biscuits. So easy to put together for a morning breakfast. I do a lot of cooking over the fire, but I take an average size toaster oven to bake in. Plus, I take my crockpot. My friends love to go camping with me because they say they eat better than they normally would. Enjoyed watching your video. I have never watched before. Bone broth is the bomb. I also make my own bone broth. Because I am battling cancer I drink bone broth as a soup. It is very beneficial to your health. Changing how I eat has given me tremendous results with my cancer marker (60 to 19.4). Along with prayers and Ibrance also. God is good. Loved that you read scripture at the end.
Awesome! Thanks! I've been brainstorming what to do with the cans of fried apples I picked up from Aldi. I will try the apple crisp and see how that turns out. Thanks again!
If you haven't tried this already you will love this. I box of angel food cake I can of crushed pineapple Mix them together. Cook at 350 degrees until a toothpick comes out clean. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or nothing at all.
I made the pumpkin honeybun cake for a housewarming BBQ last night….there were no leftovers and it was soooooooooo good. I will be making this again and again and again!
Great video. I like the way that you brought it to my attention that this is something that can sit in your pantry if someone shows up. Absolutely could throw that together. Thank you
Hello! I’m definitely trying all of these! I love using cake mixes. They are delicious, not too expensive and simple. Most of the time I have the ingredients too. Thanks for these recipes! ❤️💜💚
I’ve been making your apple/yellow cake dessert for probably 40 years. It was something made in a cardboard box oven when I tried Girl Scouts camping. I also make it at home with all sorts of cake/pie filling combinations. It’s great for kids to make. The one difference between home and camp was they cut the butter into pats. I haven’t figured out how to make a cardboard box microwave. My stove died yesterday, but when it’s back to work I’ll try your other recipes.
If you wanted to increase the density of the brownies, you could add about .5 to 1 c melted chocolate to the batter. You can still add chocolate chips if you'd like. Also melted butter changes the density.
Delicious recipes! My favorite is brownie and love the almond extract. Thanks for the tip on that. By the way I’m one of those that love the middle of the brownie pan. Yummy
I enjoy watching video's especially when you have multiple uses for cake mix. While using coconut oil is a healthier option than vegetable oil I personally prefer to used melted unsalted butter for the amount requested for oil. I find that melted butter gives any baked good a richer flavor and easier to digest than oil. It does come down to personal preface though. I recently started making baked donuts with cake mix for health reason, and with so many different flavors of cake mix you can really try out so many. I love your recipes.
I became a subscriber today watching your videos. I was really stumped on how to revamp my boring store bought cake mix and you literally showed me the way 😂. I'm so excited to try these recipes 😁
I make the apple cake often as it is a favorite with my Life Group. My trick with the butter, because for me when melted it doesn’t seem to cover the whole cake, I use very cold butter and grate it all over the cake mix. This way for me does cover the whole cake. I have used the whole cake mix over apple filling and with the butter grated you don’t get spots of dry mix. Thank you for the scripture verse. Very timely for me today.
Have you ever added rolled oats with the cake mix in your apple crisp? That's the way I me mine and it adds a little more crispness to the top. 💖 your channel. God bless.
Brownie middle! I'm going to make and take the apple cake to our church Thanksgiving potluck. Thanks so much. Greetings from beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico!

@@patriciariller3020 Exactly, that's why I prefer mixing the butter with the cake mix! 😁

An apple dump cake. We do it with canned peaches where I work. We also add quick oats to the cake mix and use white cake mix.

The apple crisp is a staple in our home as well. I've done cherry too, I do add about 1 cup of granola to the cake mix and it is incredible.
