I love seeing what you are working on...thank you so much for sharing...love that you kept your granddaughter's stitches in Parson Brown..I love the quilt on your bed.. I can't wait to see your Maynia projects....I stitch in hand mostly, but also still use hoops occasionally...I have never joined in Maynia...always have several projects going at once... Right now I am still making donation face masks that is keeping me very busy...looking forward to seeing your next video!
Thank you for addressing my question about your choice of scroll frame or hoops. Very helpful info. Love your Parson Brown pattern and added special stitches by your granddaughter - precious!!! I have ordered that pattern after seeing it in your videos - looking forward to that stitch! I truly enjoy watching your videos and listening to your projects and just your excitement about all things stitching. You are a jewel!! Thanks again - Deana
Love your style, kindred spirits for sure! I'm a quilter and did a lot of sewing during quarantine. Enjoyed the quiet but back at work now. The cross stitch bug has bit me, lol. I've ordered a couple patterns. I have a good supply of floss and a small stash of cross stitch. Sorry my message is longer, it's like chatting with a friend ❣️🧵
Just found your site and after watching your first video decided we are soul sisters. I love all things fiber, have done basically every craft, am an avid quilter and just got back into cross stitch and knitting. I have been working at a needlework/yarn/quilt shop two days a month this past winter in Estes park, Colorado. Can’t wait to binge watch the rest of you videos!
Gasp! I don’t have a sister, so you’re adopted!! Wonderful to hear from you while I am stitching on a Blackbird Design for MAYnia.... comfort stitching! Thanks for contacting me and hope you are working on a project that brings you joy!
@@shandastitchinginidaho I just finished a Quaker birth sampler for my first grandchild. My daughter-in-law is Quaker so decided it was very fitting. I’m doing a new start each Friday for May is. Decided anymore was too overwhelming🤪 I will be working on them while I watch your videos. Happy stitching.
As always I so enjoyed your video! Parson Brown will be a treasured piece with your granddaughter’s stitching on it- so glad you kept it in it!! I’m a better quilt piecer than a stitcher, but I’m enjoying the pieces I’m currently working on. Wish I could work on linen, but it tires my eyes too much. I always love to see glimpses of your quilts - the one in this video was lovely and perfect for spring. Take care...
Enjoyed your video. That is a lovely quilt on the bed behind you. I have the Parson Brown chart. After seeing yours I will kit it up for Maynia! Thanks, Shandra.
Shanda I'm looking for a conversion to blue threads of Baby It's Cold Outside design that I think you spoke of and showed in one of your videos.. Love the chart and your threads that you used. Just wanted another glimpse of the blue version. Thanks so much - Deana
Hi Shanda, I love how the Lord has used this quarantine to bring families time together, it warms my heart as well. We have been house bound. I did take a drive over to the California side of Lake Tahoe to get some lottery tickets, it surprised me to see the casinos closed up without a soul around, it was creepy like the apocalypse. I take notes when I watch your videos so I can head to the internet and find things I just have to have, today it will be Christmas at Winterberry Cabin by Brenda Gervais, I also want to check out the Duchess Hoop, I have Q snaps but I'm not so crazy about them. Most of the time I just stitch in hand. Today is Monday May 11th, our governor has released the local restaurants to open, with a few restrictions. The quarantine has not bothered me as much as most, I am a bit of an introvert and don't mind at all being home, gives me a reason to bake, stitch or quilt. Plus it's spring and time to get the garden in. Well that's about enough for one quick message, thank you for your beautiful video's, talk again soon, 🤗
Nice to see you again and love the quilt on the bed behind you in this. Great Maynia starts...I will probably just stroll along on what I am already doing. I bounce between sewing, cross stitch, wool applique, reading, and jigsaw puzzle during the "stay in place" going on here in Maine. Sadly, our county now is seeing a rise in Covid cases and I find that a little frightening. Am I seeing some machine stitching on your wool in the beginning of the video?
Shanda, I just discovered you on flosstube. You are a unique, creative force. I feel so blessed to be one of your stitching kindred spirits. I loved the tour of Emma's She Shed. What a glorious abundance of creative beauty. I loved your Maynia plan video too. You have a passionate optimism that I surely need during our social isolation phase. You are a blessing to your family and friends. Your granddaughter is one lucky little lady. God bless. See you on flosstube. =)
Hi Shanda! Love your project bags. Can’t wait to see what you have in them! I have stopped stitching on my Saltbox Quilt Sampler so I can start again on Mother’s Day and do the SAL with you. I have done a few small projects in the meantime, and worked outside in the lawn. See you next time! Happy stitching! 🥰
Bless your heart! To stop stitching on a beloved project to join in on the SAL takes patience and I think that is admirable. Until Mother’s Day then..... ❤️
Great video; as always! I am excited to see all of your projects for Maynia - so fun. I use Mary Ellen's Best Press for removing wrinkles from my projects; it works really well. Vonna, The Twisted Stitcher, recommended it. I think I ordered it on line but Joanns carries it too. You have been really busy with making all of those bags; can't wait to see them all. Happy stitching...........
I just started cross stitch and it is a nice rabbit hole to fall into! I'm an avid knitter so cross stitch is a nice change for covid stay at home! Love your show!
Loved your video and I've been a rug hooker for over 20 years, but I also have a ganglion cyst on my wrist which doesn't exactly prevent me from hooking, but I've noticed that it is pretty sore and achey afterward so I've taken a rest just to see if that will help. I wasn't going to participate in Maynia this year, but I think I might kit up a few small projects that I've had in my stash. I have loved this "stay at home", even though it's just my husband and myself. We are both retired &. miss the grandchildren...but it has been so peaceful...and plenty of stitching time! Have a wonderful week!
Hello Shanda! I also use Calico’s tutorial for making my project bags. I finished bag 6 of 15 today in preparation for Maynia. Each bag gets easier and better looking and that makes me happy. Thank you for sharing your scroll frame. I’m going to check that out. Your enthusiasm for Maynia is fun to see. Take care.
So good to visit with you today as I sit here stitching. I’m like you with being at home. While I do miss my coworkers and my preschool students, I’ve plenty to keep me enjoyably busy. I can’t wait to see your stitch maynia progress. Happy stitching!
It is so nice to hear from you. I think I am you’re number one fan! You and I could be soul sisters or at least we are cut from the same cloth. Primitive cloth I might add. I love all that you stitch and all that you have done. I even decorate my home in a similar taste as yours. Keep up the beautiful stitching work❣️❣️❣️❣️
Hello Shanda from a new subscriber, first time Stitch Mania participant and fellow Idahoan.....wow...that was a mouthful...lol Love your videos and look forward to seeing all your mania projects!
Great video. The stitches of your granddaughter on the snowman are so precious !!! Looking forward to seeing your mania projects and the bags they are in
I enjoyed catching up with you and looking forward to seeing your stitch Maynia pieces! Stay well and happy stitching! I'd love to see your quilts as well! Lori at Once Upon a Stitch
Oh your pile of project bags makes me happy. You sound so excited for Maynia. I will join you in the salt box SAL. Love that piece. I too plan to frame mine when it is done.
I have made 80+ masks during this time. Did take time to make a couple of project bags, not quite finished. Masks tomorrow and my friend wants me to make some scrub caps! Enjoyed your video.
Hi, Shanda. I just discovered your channel, while watching Lisa, the Kindred Stitcher. She mentioned that the two of you and Carol, the Saltbox Stitcher, were going to start the Saltbox Quilt Sampler on Mother's Day. I am going to join you and start that day, too! Is there a hashtag I should use on Instagram? I have a FlossTube channel, My Stitchy Home. Today is my one year anniversary on FlossTube, so I am posting each day this week. Today was a WIP parade. The next few days will be Stash/Kit parades. It is my first time showing my stuff. Pulling out the kits and patterns is like rediscovering old friends. I will go back and catch up with your previous FlossTubes. Please let me know about the hashtag for the SAL. Happy stitching! -- Becca Klash
Envious where I live in Connecticut is one of the worse hit with no easing up in site. Going on 7th week of working from home and it’s getting old. Thank you for the lovely video
Great video!! You're so right about finding that people are spending more time together doing the things that really count! Looking forward to seeing all your Maynia starts! 😊❤
It was such a lovely visit with you this afternoon! I’m recently retired and enjoy staying home! My husband loves to go go go so he is not faring as well. I may join in your Mothers Day SAL. I have the pattern and fabric. I haven’t checked on the rest though. I envy you just one WIP. Since retiring and seeing IG, I’ve had stitchitis!! I have improved my sewing skills the last couple of years using Calico/Christine’s tutorial. I’ve used Pioneer Woman placemats for project bags but like the vinyl ones the best. Have a great weekend!💗🌷🌼🌸
I love your videos as I've told you before. I highly recommend you brush the walnut spray and NOT spray them as Stacy Nash suggests. I sprayed once and got bad droplets.. Have fun with mania. It's such a good time to do this. Be safe and thank you for sharing.
How do I find you on Pintrest? Love the RUclips videos. You have such a calming manner. Your colors and decorating are exactly what I like also. Keep up the good videos
Great visit Shanda! Your Parson Brown with grandlittles stitches is so precious. Your project bags are great and ready to go for Maynia! Looking forward to seeing your progress on those projects. Do you have a site set up for your quilting services? What kind of turn around do you have. I have a couple tops that I want to have quilted as I am still learning on my mid-arm machine. Blessings to you and have a great week!
Hi Shanda, love the new beginning... that bread looks so yummy 😋 You have lots to do for stitch Maynia, best of luck with that. I’ve never done it myself but lots of people do. Happy stitching till next time 💓Cindy
I love the way you are organizing! It’s my first Maynia too and I’m so excited! What do you use for your project bags so they aren’t floppy? Your quilt is absolutely beautiful! Did you make it? Look forward to watching your upcoming utubes!
oMG, I find more similarities the longer I watch. I grew up in Iowa, my husband grew up in aurora, Illinois, and my son went northwestern university in Chicago so your train trip to Illinois held many familiar sites. I also tat.😲
Parson Brown is by Notforgotten Farms Lori Brechlin. He is such a great addition to my winter decor. Can’t wait to get him framed or made into a pillow. Haven’t decided yet. Happy stitching!
The county I live in Wisconsin is Covid free. We have been in a Safer at Home Order since March 25. I work 2 days a week which I have been since March 24. We are under the order until May 26. If it wasn't for my crafts, this stay at home time would have been difficult.
Hi Shanda nice to see you love your videos..new cross stitcher and I'm thinking of participating in the maynia this year however there is one thing I need to purchase and that is a good light can you tell me what kind you use???
I have a floor model Ott Light Thai use primarily and when I travel or are stitching away from hone I have a Read and Beam that I got off Amazon. It works great! www.amazon.com/Beam-Read-LED-Hands-Free-Relaxation/dp/B00UE22N7M. Thanks for watching and great question!!
Thank you, Carol, but I do not sell my bags. I may in the future but I am working a bit more than half time in the accounting profession at the moment and just do not have the time. But thanks-great question!♥️♥️♥️

Now I want to hang all of my quilts from pegs.
