Mauerpark on a sunday = INSAAANE !
Huge flea market, awesome street artists, a guy with a mobile karaoke machine and at least 1000 spectators.
But yeah when you're in Berlin : rent a bike for a couple of days. Best way everrr to see the city. Start in Prenzlauer Berg(so beautiful and great places to eat/drink/hang out, feels kinda like Paris) and then go clockwise : Neuköln, Wilmersdorf, Charlottaburg, Mitte.
Berlin is my number 1 city in Europe. Went here 3 times already and can't wait to go back.
You can drink here 24/24 7/7 on the street, how cool is that ?
Also Damon and Jo, love your channel. It's funny, easy to watch and very interessting. I actually learn something by watching these videos.

Just discovered this video as I recently moved to Germany last week and this is the best video I've seen about Berlin
I am sorry to disappoint you but...the donut is not called "Berliner" in Berlin. Here it is called "Pfannkuchen". They call it "Berliner" in Western-Germany - but not everywhere. In the South they call it "Krapfen".

You're videos are so great that in less then a month watching them I feel the need to watch them, comment them (something I've never done to any other youtube channel btw), offer my house for you to stay whenever you come to Brazil, get back to learning French and drop most of my "you need to be someone in life" dreams, to travel, learn new languages, and be who I want to be (better and real fullfilling dreams).

I'm from berlin and I can confirm that a lot of these stereotypey "cool kid" clischee items
are actually still hot shit. People still drink club mate or some dupe drinks, photobooths are
also still a thing, especially - when you're out with way to many people to fit into the cabins.
Mauerpark is very worth seeing on sundays, when there is the fleemarket and karaoke stage
and I though about what you said that "berlin is all about the abadoned places":
I can only advise everyone who comes to see berlin in summer , to check out the "spreepark",
sadly it's closed for free wandering but you can take a railroad tour through it.
I'm considering going there in February during carnival.
Went to cologne for carnival, very enjoyable; would recommend! ❤

I was in Germany in April. The Berlin Cathedral is one of the most beautiful things to see in Berlin (even if you're not religious) and you can enter and watch a church service for free! Love you guys xxx

I miss Berlin. Every night outside of my hotel window in Friedrichstrasse, a guy played his guitar and sung American songs. So cool.
YES the tempelhofer feld is the best thing let ME TELL YOU i go there every damn day in summer, my friend lives right next to it, and the sunsets are just AMAZING. A lot of tourist skip the tfeld but i think its so worth the visit

For me, Kreuzberg is the epitome of cool. Honestly speaking though (I know this isn't cool to admit), I adored the "touristy stuff" too (with the exception of Checkpoint Charlie, which I felt was a tourist trap). So many good museums, from the ancient reconstructions in the Pergammon Museum, to the Topography of Terror which is both amazing and poignant - and free!

You should come back and film an update... outdoor dancing by the river at Monbijou Park (combined with a hipster shopping spree around Hackescher Markt), all the great and cheap food places (Burgermeister beneath the metro tracks just one personal favorite), Treptower Park (and its huge "hidden" sowjet monument), SUP on the Spree, the rare habit of watching the sunset on Modersohnbrücke (it's a happening!), outdoor movie nights at Volkspark Friedrichshain...

How often do you guys eat out when you travel? I know you guys are frugal travelers and often get free breakfasts, so I imagine you pack food on the go. But how do you stay frugal without feeling like you're not fully enjoying a major part of the culture, particularly in a food mecca like Italy, for example?

Mauerpark! On Sundays it's so different- a gigantic flea market with all kinds of food and clothes and bikes and anything you could imagine seems to materialize out of nowhere. Tons of musicians and artists performing, including this big, public karaoke event that's been run by one guy for the past 15 years. Anyone can go up and sing, and hundreds of people watch! The neighborhood around it is fantastic too :)

cool that you came to Berlin (my home-town).... I used to work as a flight attendant on this aiport in the 80ies... (when I was your age ;-)).... Club Mate has been in fashion for a couple of years only. When I first ordered it, I called it Club Mate (pronounced like the english "mate")... and I was informed that this is one of the rare stuff that has to be pronounced the german way (like you did), because Mate-Tea is the base of it...
UGH love you guys sooo much. i know its crazy expensive but please put australia on your travel list, you wont regret it!
