    You guys are so right about the learning a language instead of calculus or something else. I am English and its honestly embarrassing travelling around Europe and having appalling language skills, when people there will flip languages 3 times within 3 minutes to find one to communicate with you in. You guys are so goddamn right. I'm going back to German lessons!

      Also that really sucks Jo :/ I'd love to hear more about both of your experiences with this kind of thing while travelling, or how you approach safety while travelling in unfamiliar places

    • @natanyat4901
      @natanyat4901 8 лет назад +2

      I did not hear them say that it was annoying or boring. Did I miss that? Maybe it was just the racism and the language barrier that made it difficult.

    When I went to Poland I stayed with a host family and my polish "grandma" didn't speak any English, but her daughter & son in law did. So when they weren't around we would play charades to communicate. She would teach us polish words and we would tell her English words. She was a great and loving lady!

      +oliviaanastasiaxo In Poland, English IS mandatory for everyone all the way through elementary, junior high and high school, as well as one more foreign language which, in contrast, you choose by yourself (students usually take German, but French, Spanish, Russian, etc. are often available, too).

      the most funny thing happened to me in Poland is that i wanted to go from Poland to italy by bus , i asked a guy working in the bus station there and he asked me to follow him( he speak polish but he managed to understand me ) , he toke a ticket for me and guide me to the bus and left me there ... it was written "Wholy" :D and i was speaking to the driver "is this going to italy" he said " tak tak Wholy " .."no sir plz italy" .."tak rozumiem Wholy chodz" ..for minutes i was pleasing him italy plz italy plz ..and he keeps saying the same thing till he fed up and said " oh kurwa chodz czy nie" ..well i said fuck it i will go to wholy fuck italy doesn't work here xDDDD

      @TheTocas97 8 лет назад +4

      xD i can see clearly that learning Polish language needs a whole 3 years of doing nothing except learning it and contacting locals there to attend at least a normal level in language master :D but i love it and specially when i see the smile of lot of faces there when i start pretending that i do understand everything and trying to answer in polish :p no one takes me serious even when i cry and explain the reason in polish hahahaha xD

I even had to deal with almost getting hit by a car because the color of my skin. I was also asked if I was from Africa. Young people don't stare or anything like that but older people do and it's so rude, i always feel so bad for people of color. (in my city there are a lot of Asians so i saw older people looking at them)

I hope my country will finally deal with progressing globalization and internationalization. Anyway, so nice to see you guys in Kraków! hope you had a good time. this is the most historical city in Poland, like an essence of our national power back in the days. it's just a lovely city to see in Europe. what was really funny to me in this video, was you not understanding PKP (trains). it's a total mess cause Polish trains haven't been developed enough since '89 (the end of communism, like Poland generally starts it's existence in '89). being a regular train user, I do understand the sorrow. we, Poles, love complaining about trains. love you guys 😘

    That's so great that You came to Poland. :D I was sorry to hear about that security guy, but they are a little over the top here. I always get fallowed as well, because I carry a big backpack with me, and that obviously means that I'm at the shop to steal something. It's really obnoxious. Trial mix is called "student's mix" here, because it is considered a diverse and healthy snack, and who snacks a lot? Student's while studying. But maybe not on the "student's mix" those days. That's how it was years ago, before chips and all sorts of candies were avaliable in Poland. Your Polish is very good. :) Not many words, but very good pronunciation. ;) It's true, that to this day still a lot of people in Poland, especially those working at the store counters, don't speak foreign languages. (Sorry for my bad English)

    Haha! Awesome video. I flew Chicago to Warsaw last summer on Polish airlines and they did all the announcements in Polish and then English. The Polish announcement would be like 3x longer than the English and I was thinking, "Are we missing something here?" Haha

    I was lucky enough to have lived in many countries first due to my father's profession (diplomat). I have lived in France, the UK, the Czech Republik, Egypt, Thailand, Cambodia and the USA. During those stays, I have also visited the neighboring countries like Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium...etc. I can relate a lot with you guys in discovering different culture and adapting to it.and enjoy your personal approach to travelling. Hope one day to see you in Canada where I am from. J'espere un jour vous rencontrer a Montreal et bavarder en francais avec Damon. Love you guys.

    If you can't speak to someone due to a language barrier is it considered rude to whip out google translate and communicate that way? Just curious

    I wrote an article for school recently about the importance of foreign language, and I agree that people should try to learn a foreign language even if it's the basic greetings or words (I don't speak another language with fluency but i'm trying). I'm no STEM major (I wish I was better at math) so I say learn both while you have the chance :)

    Visited Poland, to be exact Wroclaw where my boyfriend is from and the people acted normal, no stares or anything. I did not expect that. People were also very friendly. Such a beautiful place. Either way, I am not afraid of any one stares. Gosh, I stare at myself in the mirror sometimes...Like girl, you are gorgeous hehehe

    In Central Europe a lot of people speak Russian more than English, especially elders. It's because of the Soviet Union. In Latvia, for example, 26.% of population are Russians. And in Central Europe people give strange looks for all english speaking people. I don't know why. I think it's exotic for them. I see that when in trolleybuses or buses.

    I’m a Pole from Kraków and it’s so frustrating to me that announcements at train stations are made in Polish only. Ugh, I was a tour guide 20 years ago and I was convinced it was a matter a matter of few years at most... Anyways... You are hilarious, you two. Much love!

    Guys! I am so much happy to see the videos taken in Kraków, where I lived for last 2 years! I started watching your channel about 4 months ago (starting from those taken in Marseille, where I live now) and I was wondering if, by any chance, there will be some Polish-flavoured ones! And there are NOW! :-) :-) :-)
    Just a teeny-tiny hint for you: "Kraków" should be read like "Cracoov" (yeah, almost...).
    Greetings from... Marseille! :-)
