@@stevefrench3640 Southgate's assistant coach, Steve Holland, was singling White out and giving him a hard time at the Qatar camp in front of everybody, also bringing up something he said in a past interview with Arsenal. Southgate stood by his assistant and threw Benjamin under the bus.

Southgate is a manager who does not understand that substitutes are a thing! A relic of 90's football. The game has evolved. Southgate's main achievement with England however is creating unity, he will be remembered for that. The FA are mad to have extended the contract. With the current crop of English players in their pomp right now, a world class manager will see us lifting a trophy. Mad FA, little old men's club with Jackets with badges on and sigils in their offices. We need a strong ruthless leader to take this team to glory. Before we know it the best players will be out of their prime. Don't see another Kane or Walker coming through do we? We have the next two tournaments to win trophies and after that there will be a period of change. MAKE THE CHANGE NOW. How hard is it to see? Darn it lol

Non-English football fan here, you didn't have better coach than Southgate in the last 30+ years. Sem-ifinal in WC, than finals in Euros when you lost on penalties, quarter-finals in WC when you lost against France. After many many years you're factor in international football and you should appreciate that. Which England manager in last 30 years has better results than Southgate? Exactly.
What manager has had a better squad ? Southgate is a terrible manager, Terry Venables, Bobby Robson and Glen Hoddle are far better managers
